Never played a Platinum game before, but they look interesting. The trailers got me interested in the story and enemy capture mechanic, are those done well?
The story from what I heard is alright, it's better than most of the non-Nier Platinum games (which usually run on thin Excuse Plots) but not necessarily what you'd call an excellent story.
How about the enemy capture mechanic? The trailers reminded me of an action game version of Pokemon Ranger, and I played some of those games and liked them.
It's anime as FUCK. I love it to death and will beat it to death but I wouldn't recommend it to you in particular unless you were a Platinum Games fan or an action game (think DMC) fan whose favorite thing is playing levels over and over to reach ever-greater heights of system mastery.
Edit: The "enemy capture" thing is slightly exaggerated. There are specific bosses that are actually your escaped Stands/Personas, and you can lock down other enemies by wrapping them in your tether. You're not collecting monsters, you're creating gaps in their attack patterns.

Astral Chain may have the most accessible control scheme of any Platinum game I've personally played. There's really only one attack button for the player character (so it can feel a bit mashy occasionally), but the idea is to switch between weapons, Legions and abilities while dodging and nailing the timing on synchronized attacks.
Note: I would go with Control Layout C for Astral Chain. Feels the most comfortable to me.
Visit my Tumblr! I may say things. The Bureau ProjectAstral Chain was quite fun, some good characters and a very interesting setting, really the only reason I wouldn't say it's worth it on a budget is because it's pretty easy to beat the story in under 30 hrs, and after that it's either replaying the story chapters for better grades or to get all the side quests or playing post-game challenge missions.
Though at least you can dress up your character and IIRC swap to the other gender twin to change it up a little
You'll have to really go out of your way to explore the land if you expect to get any decent gear. Going through the game casually, I only got the obligatory rank-up rewards and the hobo clothes given to you when you get disavowed.
I randomly came across this review of the upcoming Star Wars Pinball game.
It's surprisingly good. 19 boards, lots of features and little touches, and there's some exclusive content (like career mode) for the Switch version. And a physical release does exist for it.
It's not 100% perfect but it seems like a fun time for $30 or w/e.

If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?So, have we talked at all about how a Puzzle Quest remake is dropping this week? It's got all the original content plus the previously XBLA exclusive expansion AND an all-new expansion. This is exciting because the original Puzzle Quest was legitimately good both in terms of the puzzle/class design and on the story side as well.
I've got it downloaded already. Can't wait to replay!
These are specifically from the Nintendo of Europe Twitter, but one can hope they'll come to other regions.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Back in September 4th, it was announced during the Japanese Nintendo Direct that the first three Dragon Quest games would be coming to the Switch, but only in Asian territories.
We now have confirmation that the games will also be releasing worldwide on September 27th (the same day Dragon Quest XI S will also be released).
This is not the greatest signature in the world, no... this is just a tribute.Is Game Voucher thing actually worth the price?
Or rather, "Do these games actually fit the console's memory space"?

The ones you can get via NSO? It's, if my memory isn't failing me, $100 for two vouchers that can be used on most Nintendo-published games on the eShop sometime in the next year after you get them (after that point, they expire if not used). As most of the eligible titles are $60 each, that's basically a pair of $10 off deals, with the catch that you're paying for both titles at the same time. Oh, and they only count on the eShop, so you can't get the physical versions with this.
...Assuming the offer is still available, that is.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I'm not sure where Serebii got the news, but it looks like the next batch of Pokemon Sword/Shield info is coming on September 18th at 1300 UTC (6 am PDT, 9 am EDT, 2 pm BST, 10 pm JST).

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."This new Mario and Sonic at the Olympics is producing more discussion than the previous games. The games sell millions and, last time I checked, sell better than the main Sonic games, but no one ever talks about them. Nintendo is also doing better with the advertising for this game. I expect it to sell really well.
Hmm. Megaquarium hits on 10/18, and once again a year late, on 10/5 we're getting the 25th Anniversary Edition of Double Switch (which has nothing to do with the console, and everything to do with not getting a Congressional committee on the devs case a second time).
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownSize comparison of the Nintendo Switch Lite with other handheld systems.
Personally blown away that it's literally the same size as the Vita, just with a slightly larger screen. I already own a Switch but this size makes me wish I could afford to get this version.
Here's a review of the Nintendo Switch Lite by GameXplain;
Also SURPRISE, it's compatible with the GameCube Adapter;
Megaquarium looks interesting. I've always had this inexplicable urge to play aquarium simulators and just take care of virtual fish. Being a tycoon game, though, maybe it'd be better to pick this up on PC.
Wall Street Journal: Nintendo tried to aggressively cut costs with the Lite.
I'm going to copy/paste select quotes I got from elsewhere because of WSJ's paywalls:
Murata executive Norio Nakajima said in August, without naming Nintendo: “We got a new videogame client, a client that this unit would never have been able to get when it was owned by Sony.”

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Launch trailer for Untitled Goose Game is out:
Amazing. 10/10. Best game ever. Game of the year for all years for all of eternity. Retroactively game of the year for all previous years.
To give a more readably-sincere answer, Untitled Goose Game is one of the most charming games I've played all year. You're a troublemaker, but it's all in good fun, and geese are real funny creatures we don't focus on enough as a source of comedy, so it's real swell that we have a game centralized about being a fiendish one.
It's supposedly pretty good if you like the types of games Platinum makes.
