Tropers - As you are probably well aware by now, we've made a ton of changes to TV Tropes. Although most of the changes you see are primarily cosmetic, we are also part way through a complete overhaul of the backend code. With so many changes under the hood, it is entirely possible we broke a few things. If you find something that does not appear to be working correctly, this is the place to report it.
Please note, this thread is for BUGS only! If you have an idea, wish, or anything to say that is not related to a bug, please do not post it here. Those things can all be posted and discussed on other threads in Wiki Talk or the Tech Wishlist.
The more information you can provide about the bug (e.g., browser, operating system, etc.) and how to re-create it, the more likely we will be able to squash it.

EDIT: Here are some things that have been reported:
- Login issues
- Logins not sticking between devices
- Some people are still having issues with dropped logins.
- You can't log in if your username contains a space. Remove the space.
- Javascript: Your device must be able to run Javascript from tvtropes.org, static.tvtropes.org, ajax.googleapis.com, and netdna.bootstrapcdn.com. If you are blocking any of these, lots of things won't work, like editing pages.

Everything was lagging like CRAZY on my Firefox 33.0 browser (using Windows XP) until it suddenly switched back to the old layout! Things are going as smoothly as they used to now.
...I kinda wanna keep the old layout or have an option for turning it back on...
It also said that it couldn't find my login ID in the database, and the connections to servers were often reset while the page was loading. I didn't have the foresight to screencap it because I thought it'd lag out before this post would get through.

Text colors did not work correctly for the time that the new site was up. For example, [[red:this]] appeared like this when it should have appeared like this.
I was also frequently logged out for no apparent reason, the watchlist was empty when there were threads on my watchlist that had posts which I haven't seen yet.

I just got a "you are not known" message while trying to edit a post that I had just submitted a few seconds beforehand, then everything went back to normal.

Finally able to get logged in after about 45 minutes. Been communicating with some Troper friends offsite, and they still can't. Is there some sort of fix for this?

Ditto on login issues, as well as lag in Firefox. Also, a number of small static images around the site seem to be broken in Firefox as well. The little icons by forum threads are the main ones, although there are also ones next to the account login button on the top bar. There may be others, too.

I think I should specify on your sitiuration, (have just gone though it myself).
In my attempts to log in, the reason I couldn't because that the page wouldn't load. It just became a blank page that no amount of refreshing would fix.
On a related note. Has the site slowed down/lagged since people logged in?

For some reason, the login wouldn't work on FireFox, but when I tried it on Internet Explorer, it worked. Then it worked on FireFox, eventually.

Lag, lag, lag. Slow loads. Also took me about an hour and a half to even see the log in screen. And then took me another 10 minutes to actually log in (took 3 attempts of me putting everything in correctly too >.>)

Got logged out when the layout changed, and it took ages to actually get back logged in (the first few times due to the system not recognizing me, then the login page got blanked out. I got back in with no trouble once the login page came back, though).
The site has been pretty sluggish for me since logging back on, though now it seems to be moving a little faster (or alternating between "normal" and "sluggish").

Case in point, the line above was supposed to be in a quote box.
Also, I've randomly received the message saying I need to be logged before making an action (in the case editing a post), even though I was already logged in. Going back and retrying worked fine.

It took me about an hour just to log in and several of my troper friends told me offsite they still can't log in.
Oh, and also, to put it bluntly, everything is slow as molasses.

Before anything happens, I want to say that login-in function wasn't working at all for alot of us.

It took me nearly twenty minutes to log in. When I clicked on the login/register tab, the page that came up was absolutely blank. I kept going back in between FB and Cracked, and finally the page came up.
OS Windows 7 Professional on laptop (it was nearly $100 cheaper than the cheapest laptop with Home, and I am not crazy enough to get 8)
Browser Chrome, last closed and reopened less than 12 hours ago. No updates pending.
Dr Web's Link Checker plugin has an ad block feature, but it is completely turned off for this site, both Flash and regular options. I believe it's only polite to see the ads (and I sometimes use them as shortcuts to sites I visit anyway). No other ad blocks installed, so they can't be interfering.

I'm personally boiling down the current login problems to "thousands of people all over the world trying to do the same thing at the same time", so it's more human error there than server problems.
However, there are still issues with:
2nd-level headers.
Image uploads on Avatars are working again, so congratulations.

When I click "Mark All as Read" on the left side of the forums (specifically the Wiki and Forums section
), it marks all forum threads as read, instead of just the ones in that section.

Okay, know I just posted here, but Game Spazzer has suddenly been redirected to Google when she tries to get here. Is this another bug, or was she bounced?
EDIT: She wanted to clarify with the following:
"I can access the homepage and wiki but not the forums or Ask the Tropers, so my hands are tied as far as figuring out what's going on for myself."

Well I can;t drop a thread from the watch list, every time I try it redirects me to a page that says I have to get known first (and beofre anyone asks, yes I was logged in before trying that)
