Overwatch

I've only ever cleared Retribution (All Heroes) on legendary. Can't really speak for the others, it's been a year since I've really tried so my memory's a bit hazy.

As I've found Storm Rising a bit of an underwhelming experience, I haven't really engaged with the event that much and thus haven't really gained anything good out of the loot boxes. Then again, I'm not a big fan of the most of the Archives skins, and the next event down the line is the Anniversary. I'm saving my proverbial money for that.

I think Storm Rising could of been better and far more interesting if they gave us new enemies along with the old.

Well that and not set-up new characters that likely won't get elaborated on until whom knows how long because lore in this game is going at a glacial pace.

When exactly does the Archives event end? I want to know if I can still get Archives boxes after the arcade box rewards reset at 8pm eastern on Monday, or if I should just buy the skins I want.

My first instinct would be that it will end when the Arcade loot boxes reset, but I can't find anything definitive; I found a thread on the Blizzard forum which seems to suggest that last year, it ended about midday Central US time on Tuesday, so it may be that if you're quick, you can still get three last Archives loot boxes on Monday evening. (Hopefully this will mean short waits to find games.)

And on Tuesday, the new Overwatch League All-Stars skins go live; I had the good fortune to benefit from the "100 free OWL tokens" lottery last week (amusingly, it was for tuning in during the hour when the power to the arena in Dallas was knocked out for about 45 minutes), so I have more than enough tokens saved up to buy one, but not both. They both look pretty sharp, but I've logged more time as Mercy than as Lucio, so I'll likely buy the Atlantic skin.

EDITED TO ADD: It's now past 8pm on Monday, and the Archives events are still there; I expect they'll be put back into the vault at some point tomorrow.

Holy shit, Shanghai Dragons actually made to the Playoff.

I guess in Overwatch League, when in doubt, replace your players with Koreans.

If your players are already Koreans? Better Koreans.

Phew, got that Mccree skin last second. Also, bye Archives! Hopefully some actual effort is put next year, though i doubt it.

The whole "when in doubt, replace your players with Koreans" approach doesn't seem to have helped the Florida Mayhem, though; they've been just as bad in Stage 2 as they were in Stage 1, if not worse. Well, it is a team game; having talented players is one thing, getting them to function as a unit is another. So it is in non-Esports, so it is in Esports.

Shanghai looked pretty sharp in their last match against San Francisco, even if they did lose 4-0 (well, their defence on Paris was shambolic, and their defences on King's Row and Rialto weren't that much better, but they were good on attack), so who knows, they might have an upset waiting for us in the quarter-finals.

Well then, it just means they need better Koreans.

Touche.

Turned out I did have enough OWL tokens saved up to buy both the Atlantic and the Pacific All-Stars skins, so I cashed them in. Didn't get Havana at all when I played earlier this evening (I wasn't able to play for very long because PSU problems have rendered my desktop unusable for gaming, while my laptop doesn't have a proper graphics card), but I'm sure I'll get it soon enough. I think I can already guess where the checkpoints and the attacking and defending spawn points are, at least.

How do you get OWL tokens anyway?

Remember, 100 tokens for each skin.

Option 1: Buy them — definitely the most consistent, easiest way of getting them, but this costs 'money'. Honestly, for my money, too pricey to be worth it. It's about a fiver for each skin.

Option 2: Link your Twitch account to your Battle.net account, and they'll drop as you watch the Overwatch League on Twitch (when it's live). You get three tokens for every hour you watch. It's really not much, but it can end up adding up. Also every now and then 100 tokens get given to you for free, randomly — you really can't count on it, though.

Man, that new Mercy skin is so anime-like. I love it.

You don't need an outfit for porn. Most of the time.

Depends on the porn and the particular interests of the pornographer.

I remember that when the Witch Mercy skin released, there was porn of it within...what, five or ten hours? The pornographers worked fast.

Generally specific skins get porn if they are distinctive enough.

D.Va's black cat ensemble for instance gives her a Gothic dress & blonde hair so its popular to make vids of.

Oh man, I still don't know how to properly deal with spin-contesting Hammond. Sometimes my teammates have either enough aim or firepower to destory him...but sometimes that one hamster ball becomes the source of defeat.

At the very least, Mei wall blocking and Sombra's hacking works very well.

And that's just when someone needs to switch. A lot of people get tunnel vision on certain characters that they want to be 76, but the Hammond is on point so someone needs to deal with him.

Overwatch has the advantage to change characters whenever you want. People should use it more.

I'm pretty good at pinning Hamston when playing Rein since when rolling the balls is really predictable
