Ryan: We're not redoing Sonic '06.

John and Ryan just stated during John's VGA stream that they didn't believe a Final Fantasy character was coming to Smash specifically in one part of VII Remake. The one FFVII character you should expect would be in.

They literally post that playthrough a day after I got the game myself. And I was literally just thinking "when are they gonna do Crash 4?" seeing as how Ryan, John, and Lewis are gigantic Crash Bandicoot fans.

Ryan gave us a challenge in the final part of Mario 64: get BSC to 100K subscribers and he'll 100% a Sunshine revisit.

Get out there and push!

Surprised they aren’t at 100K subs yet. Especially since both of Johnny’s channels are way over that amount.

I guess maybe people like Ted, Ryan, and Lewis less than they like Elliot, Matt, Greg, Mark, and Sabrina?

This is a nice surprise.

So with the Smash announcement last week, I'm kinda curious as to how Lewis and Ted feel about Pyra/Mythra being in Smash. Neither of them really like XC 2 (Lewis because he dislikes the artstyle, and Ted, IIRC, dislikes Pyra's and Mythra's designs).

I couldn't find anything on Twitter for Ted, so I guess he was indifferent.

Here's Lewis's response:

Oh, good. Boring sword girl is in Smash. Well, at least the people who actually like that trope get something. I guess.

Honestly that doesn't surprise me. Lewis is really vocal about his dislike for "generic anime artstyles", as he also doesn't like Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow's artstyle for that reason. (I believe he said this in the Mario Odyssey playthrough)

I have a hunch that Ryan and John likely don't really care either way. I just figured that Lewis and Ted would most likely be negative about it.

Eh, I'm excited for Pyra either way.

I'm totally cool with Pyra/Mythra in Smash tho. Xeno2 did really well and they're very popular, so makes sense. Also at least its not the dread over populated franchises so I'm completely fine with this.

Okay so it seems that Ryan and John aren't anywhere nearly as negative as Lewis is. They're more neutral. Ryan at least is more like "this character isn't my cup of tea, but I'm happy for those that like them".

Ted's probably just being quiet on it.

Considering a certrain member's appreciation of Trails in the Sky, the anime style complaint thing is kind of funny. Not that a game's just an art style, but still.

Does Lewis like Trails in the Sky? I’m flashing back to Ted being excited for Star Allies bringing back old obscure Kirby characters yet complaining about Mighty and Ray being old obscure characters that got brought back in the Mania Plus playthrough.

I know that he’s really into Trails of Cold Steel, though is should be noted that his dislike of Pyra comes less from art style and more general dislike of the character and story as a whole.

Ah, okay.

I do remember him complaining about the artstyle in the Mario Odyssey playthrough, but I haven't heard that much from him regarding XC2 otherwise so I thought his biggest beef was the artstyle.

So it's most likely that he simply doesn't really like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 then. I still managed to guess that he didn't like Pyra being revealed for Smash. I am surprised that Ted has been quiet.

Considering the mostly meh reactions to Pyra and Mythra, I don't expect the guys to do a Smash stream following their release, like what happened with Steve.

Which I find odd as they did a Smash stream for every DLC character in 4.

Speaking of: it does look like they will be streaming Smash on Saturday.
