Seems some meddling went on behind the scenes.

In the same post, Ian casually spoiled something related to MM6, albeit something a lot of readers had already guessed. *a touch worried about what that could entail*

Yeah the mr x thing was kinda obvious....but still could archie be so stupid to doctor who this series?*

  • when cancelled the first time in the 80s doctor who was put on hiatus. Truthfully they were never bringing it back but said hiatus to soften the blow

C'mon, what is the chance that Archie will give anything to...Why the hug there are Archie comics on IDW website?

Well, making deeper search, they're not perfect. Samurai Jack had only 20 issues, Dexter Laboratory had 4, Judge Dredd had 30.

If IDW got these licenses, chances are they will only sell well if can continue where Archie left off. Sonic just got reboot and doesn't need another, and Mega is perfect the way it is.

Ok, Sonic might use retelling its story from beginning. Maybe. But Mega will lose lots of readers if it wont continue the story and probably die in few years.

Of course, thats all only matters if Archie gives up Mega Man, soooo...Thats just too many "ifs".

Sonic could maybe get away with a reboot if they set it in a new universe and kept the door open to crossovers with the current universe - the current series has been going on long enough, there's enough weird storyline stuff and changes, and there's been enough different writers that the potential is there for something good to come out of seeing what would happen if Ian Flynn were writing the Sonic comic from the beginning.

Mega Man, on the other hand, gains little to nothing from a reboot - it's only been around for a couple of years and it's been written by Ian Flynn from the get go.

Of course, again, both of those points are moot unless 1) both comics did get a reboot and 2) They didn't hire a different writer.

[up][up]Dredd has always failed to make it big in America, whether in comics or movies, so that's hardly surprising. DC's attempt failed ignominiously as well.

Dredd only seems to sell well in the USA when he's crossing over with Batman.

The fact idws efforts were crap didn't help

The problem with dredd is hes a parody of americas justice system. American writers seem to miss this

Well, to put focus back on crossover- I'm liking it so far. It seems like upgraded version of first crossover only they're avoiding stuff that made first crossover so annoying. Sigma makes good villain, but I hope other characters from MMX and Sonic Boom characters will game more page time soon. Though, I have no idea what SB characters that arent Sticks will do here. Comedy Chimp and Fastidious are just comic reliefs. Background characters. Why she even grabbed them.

Battle Books are odd. For those who didnt heard, some less important fight happen off-page, so they made extra comic where you can see them. Kinda fun, as long you dont expect anything but fighting.

Thus far? I feel like it's a lackluster followup to Worlds Collide for the most part. sad

[up] Yeah, reaction's been pretty divisive so far even on the comic's forum. I guess it's to be expected given the Loads And Loads Of Characters XD;

It's not necessarily the matter of how many characters there are, it's just that the plot seems overly simplistic for what they're doing and how many issues they're trying to cover it with.

And the one real novelty that they were selling the event on - the big Capcom vs Sega crossover thing - is only just being hinted at now with shadows and obscure talk that is only going to hide the identity of the new arrivals for people who have absolutely no familiarity with the original properties at all.

It feels like more of the same and less of the same all at the same time, and unless they pull something really big out beyond just going "And then all these characters from the Capcom and Sega games show up to help fight the bad guys", it's going to be very hard for this sequel crossover to justify its existence.

Well, second act is a bit lackluster and I know they're repeating parts from first crossover but I still prefer it over Collide.

I'll make it clear, I despised previous crossover. I will take badass Sonic Man and M'Egga Man anytime over "Eggman and Wily trick blue heroes into killing each other for 4 issues and think it will work".

Sadly, Deadly Six are as lame as always, despite Flynn's talent to fix less-than-popular Sonic characters.

Of course, since most of second crossover is people fighting, I can blame weak artist for lack of excitement.

I'm looking for second Battles issue, though.

Sonic Universe #78 "Worlds Unite" pt. 9 of 12 preview

In which the crossover starts looking a lot more like "Sega vs. Capcom".

So, they managed a clean victory this time, and left the door open for future crossovers. I'll take it.

That was like rubbing dirt in the wound telling us to look forward to more mega man and sonic boom in the future.

[up] Likely that was written and finalized before the cancellation/"hiatus".
