Lori ran with her shield, defending herself from ice beams until the beams moved away from her direction. She then disconnected her shield and fired fire shots at the beast's neck.

SLSH End

The results were messy. And spectacular. But mostly messy, as the Shockworm writhed as the bident rammed straight into it, pushing past any feeble defenses it had left. Soon the beast was dead and began to decompose as it lay still, its innards splattered all over the floor.

Ieria kept watching, seated nearby Pius and Alexia as they chatted, listening in and observing the events with her keen and wary eyes as her scroll recorded the battles.

SLSH

With the Grimm turned into a bloody mess on the floor, Yun lowered Skyfire, and his serious expression was replaced with his usual smile.

"I think we did pretty well on the practical." He remarked. "Great job, ladies!"

Post-Fight

"I appreciate the concern, but I'm fine." Hope once again shook her head, back to her regular tapping of the wheelchair's frame, passively watching the other teams fighting - or in case of team dealing with a Shockworm, finishing off - their own Grimm. "Don't worry about it, Aye."

Alexia shrugged, then listened to her father on tge other side of the call.

"Hello? Pa? Why are you calling...Wait, timezones? Where are you? Atlas? What? Why?"

The princess was silent for q while, her face becoming more and more troubled.

"Are you sure? Why would they...."

Another few moments of silence.

"Pa, I'm not the one who should be worried. I'm safe at Beacon, but you and Ma and Alice...Okay, I promise. Love you too. Bye."

She put her scroll down, sighing. "Well. That...was...a thing."

"What would that be, huh?" Noa grumbled, picking at the sling around her injured arm. "Some assholes stirrin' up trouble in Atlas?"

She suspected that it was probably those tarot card terrorists that harrassed them last time. Or the White Fang. Dust-damned faunii, stirring up trouble everywhere.

"Long as it don't git in our way, I won't." Ayers replied. "And y'all're obviously someone who can take curr'f'rself, so I ain't too worried." He let go of Hope and stood back up, clanged his hands together at the death of the Shockworm. "How long y'all figger it'll take to git grades to us, professor?"

"I think... I think I was planning to jump inside of it," Rufus told Cara as he stood with her off to the side, "We had it at all sides except the inside and I was thinking that it's organs might be more vulnerable than it hide. I am... glad Hope killed it before I could put my 'plan' into motion. I don't think it would have ended well."

Ai flipped and gracefully landed on her feet. Her yo-yos twirled in the air as they followed the wires back to her hands, before she skyrocketed them straight into the pockets of her jacket. She dusted her front off and observed Charisse's finishing move.

"There you go again. Always a showoff," said Ai, shaking her head jokingly.

"Slick shooting, cowboy," she said to Yun. "You too, Naima. Anyone else as hungry as I am right now?"

SLSH Aftermath

Charisse walked up to her grimmblood stained bident and forcefully tore it out of the ground. In a fluid practiced movement she split it into it's base sickle form.

"It's not just showing off." Charisse said, smiling and shaking her own head. "Giving yout attacks a name makes them stronger."

That fight was pretty fun, and working with Naima and Yun was enjoyable to say the least.

"I don't think it will." Hope once again shook her head, glancing at Prof. Port. To be honest the result was something that interested her as well. There was hardly any style in that messy kill, but they seemed to get their teamwork together. The efficiency, she thought, was decent enough... was it?

Frost

Not wasting a moment Belle stabbed down at the beasts neck once again hoping to finish it off.

Leo Regina: Slushmaster Supreme

The Beast's ice beams tore through it's own ice Collins, toppling some of them over.

Dolores's shots hit it squarely in the torso, and the beast roared in a combination of pain and fury. This roar stopped short as Belle's cut lopped it's head off cleanly.

The ice spikes and frost melted away into nothingness, leaving this arena decidedly cleaner than the others.

She sighed, her smile shrinking.

"More seriously, I was about to do something almost as stupid, so I too am glad it ended there. Though I still feel I could have been more helpful than I was."

"Not everyone is given their chance to shine in every encounter," Rufus said, "For some it never comes. Not for a lack of talent, but for a lack of one that lends itself to standing out to the senses. In battle, some people become like the clerks of bureaucracy, absolutely vital but unnoticed."

"So, yes, that was Pa checking up on me. He's in Atlas to meet up with Professor Ozpin and General Ironwood for...something." Her tone of voice made it clear something meant highly classified information and a matter of national security.

"Anyway, the VRIA found out what Arcana was after on the ship. Apparently, the attempt on my life was a distraction. They took a jewel called the Aura Sphere."

She sighed. "I have no idea what they need it for.

"Was this Aura Sphere on the Golden?" Pius asked. "Why did they call it that?"

"The Sphere was on the Vacuo exhibit. I remember reading that it was found in the oldest recorded ruins in Vacuo. It had weird Runes on it, and it automatically awakened people's Aura when they touched it." replied Alexia frowning.

Timeskip! Umbra 8th, Tuesday, Vale Megamall, Seven PM

Alexia sighed. She had no idea how this happened. As Dorm White Rose did not eat at the mess hall, someone had to buy groceries every month. Alexia had volunteered, but someone (Tori) had found out and had somehow convinced everyone that it was going to be a girls night shopping spree.

The princess was vaguely impressed at how she did it. Didn't change the fact that she knew absolutely nothing of what to do on a girls night.

"So...um...what now?"

Meanwhile, the guys, Dorm White Rose

Testosterone poisoning, much? Tonight was the night of the Griffball finals, and so some of the guys were sprawled on the couch, eating chips, and drinking beer that Gaston had somehow smuggled in. Cost a fortune, but worth it.

Ayers sipped from a beer balanced precariously on the arm of his chair with a straw, letting his arms sit up in his room for the time being. "So, uh, I ain't never done none'f this here Griffball, and fer once... ughhhhhh..." he slumped backwards in his chair, pained. "Hey, Pius, Lucas..." what other assholes were too good for this sort of thing? "Uhhhhhh, Baxter? He even here? Hwut all else's happening here tonight? Drinks?" He sipped on his beer a little more. "Ain't none too strong, ain't got much on uncle Ferg's moonshine!"

At the Mall

"Let's go to the bakery! The muffin of the month is Pumpkin Spice and I wanna try one!!!"

THE GRIFFBALL GAMES

"Yeah, see, Try Hunting Ale, then talk to me about moonshine." Jack replied, drinking deeply from his bottle, watching the game. "Hey, Ayers, I'll Bet you twenty Lin that the Red Team's going to win." He replied as a blue player was violently thrown aside.
