Just gonna drop this guy here for the Waiting List, if none of you mind.

• Name: Samuel Forrest
• Gender: Male
• Age: 19
• Birthday: Aurum 12th
• Race: Human
• Appearance: One of the first things you notice about Sam is his mohawk - not an insane metalhead mohawk, but rather one that is trimmed and low, sort of like a raised racing stripe for his head. Combined with an imposing stance and a scar above his right eye, he looks like the kind of person you don't want to meet in a dark alley - which is the opposite of his cool personality. In combat Sam wears a helmet, elbow pads, knee pads, and a chestplate designed to prevent injury; out of combat he prefers to relax in casual clothing that doesn't make you sweat to death. He also prefers to wear a scarf most of the time; liking how it flows in the wind, the scarf is tied just loosely enough to be undone if it is pulled on.
• Weapons and Equipment:
  • The Shatterstens. These absolutely insane monuments to the time-honored art of "destroying them with lasers" are twin ultra-rapid-fire laser machine pistols - stream lasers that "stutter" on and off twenty times a second, rapidly punching holes through their targets. The Shatterstens have three main power modes; "Stun", for when you need to make something go down, "Kill", for when you need to make something stay down, and "Rave", for when you need to make something get down.
  • For close combat, the Shatterstens can be combined into a single weapon that forms a plasma blade - the Pinchsaber. The Pinchsaber is effective at cutting through things, essentially vaporizing them, though anything resist to heat will block the Pinchsaber. As with the Shatterstens, the Pinchsaber can be set to a "Stun" mode for sparring.
  • Finally, for when the ultimate in damage is required, the Pinchsaber can remove the front of its magnetic field, projecting the plasma blade at its target as a beam - the Firelance. The Firelance is capable of causing heavy damage, but the Pinchsaber cannot be used for a long time after the Firelance fires, and the Shatterstens will be unable to fire for a full minute. The Firelance does not have a stun mode due to its nature.
• Semblance: Like A Bullet. Sam uses his Aura to propel himself forwards, striking his target. While he starts off not moving, Like a Bullet quickly allows him to reach absolutely insane speeds - which, when combined with Pinchsaber, can result in an absolutely tremendous amount of damage, right in your face. While accelerating to full speed only consumes the normal amount of Aura a Semblance would, holding said speed quickly saps Aura, rendering Like a Bullet useless for any more than short-range combat. Sam can turn while using Like a Bullet, though he has the turning radius and speed of an oil tanker.
• Personality: Coming from a military family has, surprisingly, lent Sam a very, very chill personality. While he does indeed look very aggressive, Sam is somewhat easy to get along with, and is willing to attempt anything at least once - though any more than that is entirely dependent on how much he enjoys it. This changes in battle - Sam is a close-range, utterly relentless harasser. While perfectly capable of working with a team, his preferred role is getting up close and personal and distracting a target with dozens upon dozens of lasers and slices - holding their attention until they die of a thousand cuts, are felled by a greater blow, he is pulled away by his teammates, or he is knocked out of action.
• Bio: Growing up in Atlas meant that Sam grew up as a military brat. Naturally, this also meant he proceeded to get good at fighting from an early age. Getting more than one bully, he adopted an aggressive posture and a vicious fighting style to counteract it; his hope being to look intimidating enough (and to fight hellishly enough) to keep them from attacking, though it hinders as much as it helps. The Shatterstens were custom-constructed to suit his combat style; he was eventually sent to Beacon as part of Forrest family tradition.

My character's gonna have the greatest weapon Beacon has ever seen;

a gun that shoots anything you put into it (which includes bullets if you can find them)!

It doesn't even need to transform, melee combat is as simple as grabbing a sword and skewering your target! :DDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

But enough jokes next time I post I'll actually have a character sheet here.

Anyways, I said this post would have a signup sheet. And I will. There is a part of her backstory that I will not be including in the signup, mostly because I want to roleplay this out and it won't exactly be a surprise (or as fun) if you all knew beforehand. (If Grim asks, though, I'll spill the beans to him so he can make sure that I DON'T ACT DUMB)

• Name: Rheia Flynt
• Gender: Female
• Age: 19
• Birthday: Ventus 23
• Race: Human
• Appearance: Rheia's main color is “orange” - her hair, which is medium-length, not quite reaching her shoulders, is orange with streaks of red in it – and outside of the school uniform her preferred shirt is a bright-yellow blouse. Rheia commonly varies between wearing skirts with shorts underneath them and jeans for pantwear; these are generally her only clothes outside of the uniform, since Aura will defend you better than most armor can. Her eyes are hazel, as an after-detail
• Weapons and Equipment: The Werkzeug. Rheia's Werkzeug is a handgrip◊ with a built-in 3D printer on both ends. One end is the “primary” end and is used to generate blades of any sort – from short daggers to makeshift maces to axes and even halberds. The other end, the “secondary” end, is used in conjunction with the primary end to generate a bow and arrow that can be used for ranged attacks. Of course, as with anything else the Werkzeug does have downsides; namely, the “blades” it makes are very fragile and rarely last more than a few hits before shattering against their targets, which means Rheia focuses more on dodging than trying to block. In addition, the “bow” is only good for one shot before the force of the 'string' ends up shattering the rest of the bow. On the plus side, Rheia can also switch blades on the fly; the printer just “lets go” of the blade it has and prints a new one.
• Semblance: Tinderbox. Essentially, through the power of touch Rheia can increase the temperature of various items. This has mundane uses, such as warming up after cold days; it also has combat uses, as Rheia can make the blades of her weapons sharp to give them a massive power boost and unparalleled cutting power – of course, at the expense of their durability; such superheated blades are usually only good for a single killing blow. This, however, does work in her favor while using the bow; a superheated arrow can have only the head heated, to pierce through armor, or can be built with a thicker structure that is then heated, to turn the arrow into an explosive round that showers its targets with white-hot plastic shards. While Rheia is capable of not feeling pain while superheating things, this effect is limited (and, as such, so is the temperature she can make things); in addition, Rheia's hands are heat-sensitive as usual while not using the Tinderbox.
• Personality: Rheia is like most of my characters; generally laid-back and somewhat tough to piss off usually. Of course, to imply that she lacks a spine will cause one's doom, as she will become righteously pissed if people attempt to walk over her or grossly violate her personal space. Notably, she is significantly cagey about her childhood. In combat, Rheia becomes an absolute killing machine; obsessed only with murdering and destroying Grimm she will pursue targets beyond even her own safety until they are all dead. The only thing that will bring her back from the brink are teammates; even so Rheia is reckless and will attempt ensure all of them leave alive - to the point where she will fearlessly take blows meant for others.
• Bio: Rheia had your usual childhood growing up; she idolized Huntresses and dreamed of attending Beacon with a weapon that made her stand out. Of course, something happened that permanently set her on the course to becoming a Huntress: [Strangely, this part of the paper has been blacked out, and in a rather unprofessional manner at that. Nevertheless, the information here is obscured; it will take time for it to be revealed. Its approval for publication does suggest Ozpin is aware of what this paragraph contains, however.]

Yes, exactly. That is what I was going for. That blade is one of many that Werkzeug can build. It can also make a mean axe-head. (Don't try to throw it.)

And Werkzeug can create longer-ranged melee weapons like spears and halberds from just the primary end? How does that work?

Like anything else. Of course, considering that a spear or a halberd is a much longer and much heavier weapon than, say, a sword, it means it's going to have different handling characteristics - so you are not going to be twirling through the air and rapidly hitting targets if you've given yourself a nice little pike.

Though I suppose the secondary end could also generate additional handguard. I don't see that as being an issue if it comes down to it.

And one-shot bow form aside, I see no issue with that either. As far as I'm concerned, this bio is acceptable.

@Anyone else watching: should we bring Sparty's character into the fold, wait for Grim to approve, or let more people apply?

Personally, I'd wait on Grim if possible.

If Grim is the Whackmaster Supreme here I'd much rather wait for his input rather than thinking I might be accepted when I'm not.

In that case, I suppose others can put up their bios or reconfirm their interest if their bio was accepted before.
