PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850RWBY is basically FF 8, anyway.
See the scarred loner with an energetic partner. That's right. Weiss and Ruby are Squall and Rinoa. Unsee that, you nerds.

Nothing is what it seems. Master of Shipping and Sadism.LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL
hey I thought about the connection earlier.
Yeah I got the FF 8 vibe immediately and I love it~
"Who am I, Elisha Otis?"I think Blake makes a Better Squall, and Yang Rinoa.
They even got a dance.
That we didn't get to see.

PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850>Never Played a Final Fantasy game other then XIII
It kinda killed my interest in the series, how are they similar if I may ask?
lets see... multiple co existing nations each with their own military academy that trains young soldiers. Possibility that one academy is hosting an evil being.
This is Monty Oum who is behind this after all, the guy did make Dead Fantasy (bless him for giving Rinoa Heartily some love and some damn good love did he give). Dude is obviously an FF fan.
Also like I said.
Blake, even though she's not the main protag. She's a really serious loner type who's surrounded a bunchy really cartoonishly wacky people.
You really ought to play the other Final Fantasy games Imca they're pretty great.

Any you recommend trying?
I always hear VII, but to be honest the shere hype for it has scared me off, which is kinda sad since I actually have a copy if it...
...
Somewhere.
you should try IX.
The only offput may be its cartooney appearance but it's really one of the best story wise.
It was meant to be a kind of return to Final Fantasy's origins after the futuristic VII and VIII.
And fantastic characters and what Nobuo Uematsu apparently believes is his best work.
I kinda like the futuristic vibe, which was what initially drew me to try out XIII, that and for the first time having a console that could play final fantasy.
It was not until later I learned some of the others were that way too, but IX you say?
What about XII? Is it okay? I can play PS 2 games but I dont know if my PS 3 will play PS 1 games, and my PS 2 did not cross the pond with me.
IX is good and gives you a good sense of the more traditional fantasy style FF games.
My personal favorite is still X, it's easy to get into and has my favorite setting and story. XIII basically tried to be X without understanding what made X work.
XII is quite good, but very focused on political intrigue. It has the best battle system (even though you can use gambits to make the game play itself).

Never thought about it that way.
Of course Lightning was pretty much a carbon copy of Cloud, only female.
I'll just say right qucik that I think VII deserves the hype it gets.
That said. IV is a classic but kinda boring IMO.
V has a really lighthearted story that's only there to complement the great gameplay.
VI is IMO the best of the 2D Final Fantasy games. Great Story, Great gameplay unique characters and its just all around good.
VIII is while not as good as VII really underrated, its one of the best RP Gs I've played in a long time.
X is pretty polarizing among the fans but I think its worth a try. It really changes things up for the series and does a lot good things in order to stand out. X-2 is apparently X but more refined.
And XII while its story isn't that strong, again IMO, it has some pretty deep gameplay if you're willing to do quite a bit of micromanagement.
I would also reccomend the rest of the XIII series, because while the writing actually gets worse the gameplay improves by leaps and bounds with each installment.
I'd have to disagree with you there. The two look the same but, Cloud's just got more substance to him.

PM box is Closed, Indefinitely Friend Code: 3368-4181-6850VI forever. My first FF, and the best I played. Fully customizable party, a good ensemble cast..and a villain that is basically the Joker on steroids.
Man, I love VI.
Plus, you can always emulate it. So easy to get.
Nothing is what it seems. Master of Shipping and Sadism.I will look into XII then simply due to accessibility at the moment.
When I feel better that is, sorry for not being back as soon as I said I would be, kinda been pretty sick since yesterday and have just been resting... sorry.
I actually much preffered the story of XII (which was very Star Wars like in my opinion) over the gameplay. I've always preffered the turn based system with FF and I feel thats the best unless its one of their mmos (which i reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaally want to play XIV)
@Imca: It's cool, take your time. It's not like we're moving the plot or anything substantial, yet.
So, which F Fs have you guys played again?
I played I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, X, X-2, XII.
Also Tactics, which is friggin epic. If spin-offs count, Tactics is definitely best FF.
And both Dissidias, which were super-fun.
Nothing is what it seems. Master of Shipping and Sadism.lets see... Tiny bit of I and II.
V. VI. Beaten VII.
Damn close to beating VIII
Beat IX and absolutely loved it.
Played X yet haven't beaten it
Strangely HAVE beaten X-2
Played XII but could never get that far because of the play style.
Also XIII
Others include: Dirge of Cerberus, Crystal Chronicles, Dissidia 012... And... I think thats it.

I haven't played any FF's
But I hear that Bravely Default is the best Final Fantasy in years. :P
