Meanwhile New York looks at California, drafts net neutrality legislation: "...On Wednesday, leading Democratic New York senator Brad Hoylman hailed a "bicoastal effort" between the two states, and in particular San Francisco senator Scott Wiener, to "restore the rights of an open and free internet through net neutrality legislation." [Can't vouch for the source, but I've seen this reported in other places]

So now they lose New York state too?

The Connecticut senate passes a state-level net neutrality law, it still has to go through the house.

... question, kind of a... crude, I guess, one. If McCain is stuck in Arizona, do we technically have the votes we need without flipping another Republican?

Yup. I actually bugged my congressman already, yesterday. I'm not the only local person who did so, so that's good I guess.

I've done far more calling over the past year than someone who gets stupidly nervous talking to strangers over the phone should ever have to. If the people we need haven't been convinced by now...

IIRC, it's been brought up today and it'll be discussed over the coming week...? I'm going off one thing I saw and promptly lost.

Net neutrality officially set to be killed on 11 June.

Hopefully we can get some lawsuits or something by then.

The expected outcome doesnt change, as neither the House nor the White House support NN. Still, every little bit helps.

Hopefully the rules in California and New York might help minimize the damage until someone who isn't a corporate pet is in the White House.

That is the plan. We hold out in California until 2020, then go on the offensive.

Hopefully we can get a decent government BEFORE 2020.

I try not to hope for too much. While taking both branches of Congress is a realistic possibility in 2018, its more likely that we will simply take the House.

An email I got from FFTF says that AT&T paid over $600,000 to a shell company owned by Cohen, and the payments stopped once Pai initiated the net neutrality repeal.

I'm talking about a complete change of power, with Mueller's investigation bearing fruit and all that jazz. Most likely too much to hope for, but you never know.

Muller’s investigation won’t bring down the entire Republican Party, there are plenty of Republicans with no ties to Russia who want net neutrality to stay dead.
