In Michigan, Trump defeated Democrat Hillary Clinton by 10,704 votes, while Stein got 51,463 votes, according to current totals on the state’s official website.

And in Wisconsin, Trump’s margin over Clinton was 22,177, while Stein garnered 31,006 votes.

In Pennsylvania, meanwhile, Stein’s total of 49,485 votes was just slightly smaller than Trump’s victory margin of 67,416 votes, according to the state’s latest numbers.

[up]I apologize if I'm in the wrong but what does this have to do with Net Neutrality?

Nobody "allowed" it.

Funny euphemism there for voting for the party of "wifi causes cancer".

[up]Oh I see, then yes the people who didn't vote for Clinton or voted for Trump allowed this to happen. I agree.

People who voted for Stein are at fault?

I support NN, but even I don't think we should use it as the basis of single issue voting. I voted for Clinton in the general, but I didn't base that on NN.

Anyone who is protesting to keep NN but didn't vote for HRC in 2016 (and was of legal voting age with no significant obstacles to voting) — whether they be people who didn't bother to vote, people who voted third-party, or people who voted Trump — is going to come off as pretty silly.

WTF did they think would happen? It was not exactly a secret that a Trump administration would put NN on the chopping block.

What about those of us who live in states that would have gone to Trump regardless?

[up] That kind of thinking is part of how we ended up here in the first place. "My vote doesn't matter".

[up][up]It's obviously far less bad than not voting in an actual swing state, but as someone who voted for HRC in Georgia I'm not exactly going to be sympathetic.

[up]This too.

[up][up]Are you quite sure of that? It seems to me the bulk of your ire should fall on the people living in more likely blue states that went red who didn't vote for Clinton. IE Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania...

[down] Well, it wouldn't have mattered. If I lived in more of a swing state, I would have voted.

I received another "thanks for signing that petition" email from Senator Murray. I'd just like to share it here - it details her official stance. Of course, I removed my name, plus the greetings and her website for the sake of privacy.

     The text

Thank you for contacting me about net neutrality and the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) decision to dismantle the net neutrality rules put in place under the Obama Administration. I appreciate hearing from you.

First and foremost, I support net neutrality. As you know, net neutrality refers to the principle that internet service providers (ISP) should not be allowed to block, throttle, or otherwise discriminate between lawful content on their networks and across the internet. Net neutrality has been a core characteristic of the internet since its creation and has ensured that companies of all sizes have a level playing field to compete and pursue new ideas on. I am extremely proud of Washington state’s robust tech sector and firmly believe that net neutrality has been essential to its growth and development.

The net neutrality rules overturned by Chairman Pai were adopted by the FCC on February 26, 2015 after millions of Americans wrote and expressed their support for a free and open internet. These rules provided the FCC with the regulatory tools to protect and maintain net neutrality across wired and wireless networks, and provided a general net neutrality standard to evaluate future ISP policies against. The 2015 rules did not empower the FCC to regulate how much IS Ps could charge customers or invest in their networks. I supported these rules when they were initially adopted and continue to support them now.

I am deeply troubled by Chairman Pai’s rollback of these rules and the anti-consumer agenda he has pursued at the FCC. That is why I voted against confirming him for another five year term on the Commission, and why I am proud to have cosponsored efforts to undo the FCC’s disastrous decision and to restore strong net neutrality rules. I am especially concerned that the Commission ignored the countless Americans who wrote in to the FCC urging Chairman Pai to keep its previous rules in place and not to replace them with a weaker standard. Know that I will continue to fight for a free and open internet on the behalf of individuals and businesses in Washington state and across the country, and that I appreciate hearing from you on this important issue.

The push to reverse the FCC's overturning of Net Neutrality hits 50 votes.

It's a bit old, but nobody's noted it so...

[up] I do remember someone commenting on that, and then everybody responding that Susan Collins is a republican, therefore shouldn't be trusted, even though she kept her word on the Obamacare repeal vote.

Life is unfair...

[up]She shouldn't be, Republicans as a rule will gladly fuck everyone else over (see Tax bill). I'll believe her when she gives the actual vote and not a second sooner.

Is 50 votes enough or do we still need another since Pence will probably strike it down?

51 votes are needed alongside 218 House votes and Trump changing his position.

[up][up] So the DC circuit has a precedent for upholding Net Neutrality rules eh? I get the feeling that the FCC and their cohorts would likely be trying everything in their power to avoid that circuit if possible.

I ask how this lottery works and if the FCC and Trump Administration have the capability to rig it so that the case would not go there?

They have no power to do that. The lawsuit is filed with a specific court and that's where the case is held. They can appeal to higher courts upon a loss, but they can't shift the court to a more friendly venue since they aren't the ones filing the suit.
