That's how anti-competitive the ISP business is in the USA. Even Google can't make much headway.
Disgusted, but not surprisedShit, then it's like Japan's idol idustry. You'll die in there faster than a gladiator.
Pantheon server for all who click here. Freaking lost $410 and I am hunting down for a nuke to reign down.I was going to say that it's probably not as exploitative but I dunno how true that is.
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.Funny story: I went to the TV Tropes Pantheon forum and joked (in the worst way possible) that I'd make a profile for Pai in the meantime. Everyone thought I was serious and said "NO" and they had to retype their rules to emphasize no current politics allowed. They still treat me neutral but I didn't know I'd cause a shitstorm.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. That's because of EU regulations regarding competition. Once the UK leaves the EU, we'll see what happens then.

If my post doesn't mention a giant flying sperm whale with oversized teeth and lionfish fins for flippers, it just isn't worth reading. Then there'll... still be a lot of random ISPs going around. I don't see why that's likely to change when the government seems more interested in breaking things up even further.
Avatar SourceThat’s one way to do it... now to pass it and get the other 49 to do the same.

Netflix rips net neutrality repeal: ‘This is the beginning of a longer legal battle’
Netflix is standing with the internet against the FCC's ruling, calling it "misguided". Netflix says it "stands with innovators, large & small" to fight the FCC on this one.

Hopefully I'll feel confident to change my avatar off this scumbag soon. Apologies to any scumbags I insulted.Of course-Netflix and other streaming services are in the crosshairs of every ISP. Part of what got Obama to put up the net neutrality agreement was a couple of IS Ps getting into it with streaming services and threatening to throttle them.

The FCC also did a fake comment under Obama's name. They are already digging their graves with the lawsuits, but this is something else.
That's... hilarious.
Avatar SourceSeriously, that's just incredible.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -Hylarn... good god that's ridiculous.

Look with century eyes... With our backs to the arch And the wreck of our kind We will stare straight ahead For the rest of our livesx5 Okay, I just have to post the whole thing here, because that is just too frigging hilarious not too.

Brief Comment: The unprecedented regulatory power the Obama Administration imposed on the internet is smothering innovation, damaging the American economy and obstructing job creation. I urge the Federal Communications Commission to end the bureaucratic regulatory overreach of the internet known as Title II and restore the bipartisan light-touch regulatory consensus that enabled the internet to flourish for more than 20 years. The plan currently under consideration at the FCC to repeal Obama's Title II power grab is a positive step forward and will help to promote a truly free and open internet for everyone.
That's just special. And provides even more fodder for the oncoming lawsuits.

The address is out of date, too.
Avatar SourceThe FCC obviously did no screening at all. I wonder if they kept any metadata on the bogus filers. All we need to hear now would be if it turned out that Russian hackers were behind them.

Can't wait for idiots to spin this as "See? Even Obama thinks he'd gone too far with Net Neutrality!"
On the chance the real Obama notices that and says something to bring attention to that (most likely lawyers would crowd around it), would the FCC be automatically put to court for impersonating a past president without permission or something like that? It's even so shoddy too, you just can't not notice the blatant errors.

Hmmm maybe I'll try it jus for fun

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Plagueis the Wise?I think you guys are a little confused. The FCC itself didnt write that, someone posted that on the FCC's website (Pai then went on to claim that the nature of the public comments they recieved helped justify the repeal).
And the FCC happily benefits from it, I would not at-all be surprised if they knew and did nothing.
"Sandwiches are probably easier to fix than the actual problems" -HylarnAt the very least, it's a great and extremely obvious excuse to start up a full-on investigation into the FCC and its systems to see why, apparently, no one noticed a ton of duplicate comments from people who either were dead, didn't live at the listed addresses, didn't want to comment, or are people who very, very obviously wouldn't have posted them.
And if Pai had done anything other than outright blocking the investigation, that excuse would be much weaker.
Not Three Laws compliant.
Google already entered the ISP space, but they're in so few areas that no one really talks about it. That and I apparently heard Google ran into trouble with other IS Ps in the areas they tried to get into.
