Whelp: Patreon's got problems again
, a large number of payments are currently being declined.
Apparently they "switched from a US processor to a UK one", according to their twitter they said yesterday. The new location probably couldn't recognize some of the transactions and declined them. Declined payouts only happen to random people who use a credit card to transfer their Patreon saving, so those who transfer them to paypal or their bank account are not affected.
... this would have all been avoided if Patreon HAD TOLD ITS USERS THAT THERE IS A CHANCE THIS COULD HAPPEN BEFOREHAND SO THEY COULD SET UP ANOTHER WAY TO GET THE PAYOUTS. They didn't even tell anyone they were even switching!

I suspect a big part of it was also a stream of Patreons leaving before the rollout even happened. Like Cthulhu, the effects were already felt before the thing itself was even here.
