I don't see why they shouldn't be able to do it. I never mind comic relief in other serious work, why should I mind it here?
Admittedly, he could make that kind of mistake anyway. Ren and Stimpy's voices in APC sound very off.
Much as he may have realized he went too far, what he did, he did, and now he has a bad reputation on some parts of the Internet.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."
If you have a certain level of internet fame you're gonna be slammed no matter what. Though the public shaming of Casey Alexander was in bad taste, all he can do is repent and live what let live.
He seems quite genuine about his regret, so I see no reason to hold it against him till the end of time.
I'm having to learn to pay the priceThis is, shall we say, not like someone slamming the Nostalgia Critic.
This is like someone reminding people of the many things The Irate Gamer did. He really fucked up there, and even if he is genuine, people will still be holding it against him.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I think it's less that they did it and more how they did it. I mean sure the original show had plenty of dark episodes but almost all of them downplayed the darker content annd balanced it with more silly antics.
Space Madness had a frightening example sanity loss but it also had the history eraser button, the ice cream/soap bar, and Ren doing his most heinous act...brushing his teeth.
Stimpy's Fan Club had Ren seriously contemplating on mudering Stimpy but that worked because the reason he wants to is ridiculously pathetic. It also helps that there's a somewhat heartwarming ending where Ren finds out that his only fan mail came from stimpy.
Sven Hoek had quite possibly the scariest breakdown in the original show, but before said breakdown actually occurred the episode was mostly all about Sven and Stimpy's antics so the serious tone that Ren's breakdown had works in that regard.
In Ren Seeks Help, not only is the serious tone the majority of the episode but also, the few jokes it tries to tell mostly revolve around characters hamming it up, Ren's mother giving Ren a chainsaw and the usual vomit and gross jokes.
There's no real variation, and the balance between dark and light is incredibly off.

"Stimpy's Invention," also, has a dark humor-type tone to it.
Ren's freakout in "Svën Hoëk" is actually the set-up for a joke. The lengthy, scary monologue ends in "But first... I gotta take a whiz!" Ren just changes his mood in the blink of an eye.
Most comic relief sticks out like a sore thumb anyway.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Oh yeah, I forgot about Stimpy's Invention. Nice catch.
Another example could be Black Hole where Ren and Stimpy end up on an alien planet and constantly change shape due to the planet's atmosphere. An actually creepy concept that ends up being pretty funny.
Which is why Ren Seeks Help fails. Yeah the original did have a lot of dark comedy, but the emphasis was always on the comedy part, not the dark part.
Lol you guys should read the comments on the youtube video. It's gold.
Supports cartoons being cartoony! Are they dumb or funny?
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Both. It's more funny though.

Supports cartoons being cartoony!I can't imagine how many of his fans are going to want to pick a fight with John K. as a result of this review...
(Note I said his fans, not him.)

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."I'm imagining some of them leaving comments on his blog about it.
Supports cartoons being cartoony!I think the worst thing they can say is "DIS WAS DISTURBANG!"
Without realizing that it being disturbing was not only the point it wasn't even the main issue Mr. Enter had with Ren Seeks Help.
I'm more concerned that if they harass John K., things are going to happen. Bad things. Very, very bad things.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."me too
if you look in the comments, some people are even telling others to go f themselves for saying that Enter overreacted to the episode. Geez..
I think I'm done at looking at this comment section.. '_'

Supports cartoons being cartoony! You Tube commenters. Always there to assure us that there is no God and our existence is meaningless!
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."lol. Yeah, cartoon reviews, religion, and celebrities videos always end up going crazy in the comment section.

Supports cartoons being cartoony!Am I'm allowed to link the ED article about this dude on here? Or will I get in trouble?
Supports cartoons being cartoony!Unless you manage to bring in drama from that site, I don't think so.
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatWell, you just established that he now has an article on Encyclopedia Dramatica.
Assume people are smart enough to look it up if you have doubts.

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Don't link ED articles here. I think it's actually taboo since all ED is is a pile of bile and hatespeech passing for comedy
I'm having to learn to pay the priceOkay. I don't want to risk anything
now that you mentioned it..

Supports cartoons being cartoony!I just saw a deviation he uploaded.
It is a screengrab of a recipe for cake.
Some guy he has nothing to do with posted on some site he has nothing to do with.
Because, you see, Mr. Enter spends his time looking for online stuff that annoys him, even if it has nothing whatsoever to do with him.
He uploaded a deviation of a screengrab of a cake recipe. Made by someone who doesn't even know him. Not an original piece of art! A screengrab of a random page.
Granted, he does say that he's having family stress again, so that makes perfect sense that he would take out his aggression on a cake recipe he has nothing whatsoever to do with.
This is what people there are giving him 100+ comments on every single one of his deviations for, people.
He's taking his aggression out on this guy who he doesn't know and just wanted to post a cake recipe?
There are other ways to take out your aggression. Like a punching bag, let's say. Just buy a punching bag.
