Well now Ban gets to act like a badass...... right at the end of the manga.
And yup I kinda expected something like this, really didn’t think the Demon King would qualify as excellent Final Boss material.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."First he gets beaten up by a pig, and now this. Almost feels like Nakaba is intentionally undermining him.
Hasn't that always been a complaint about the series? I didn't mind for the first part, but from the Ten Commandments onward he's never been very good at transition from "villains stomp the good guys" to "and now villains look like fools".
Oh yeah, that's a pretty big problem with the series. Most of the Ten Commandments didn't even get a proper fight before being offed. People watching anime must've been pretty pissed when they cached on, since the OP teases all those cool fights that just don't really happen.
Oh yeah I saw that opening, that was funny.
Let’s see, Galand offed by Escanor, Fairy & Giant turn turncoat after Mel made them look like pussies, Fraudrin got taken out like a wimp by Mel, ghost mask got taken out like a wimp by Merlin, Monspiet & Derrière by Estarosa, Mera turned into a snake, got in team fight against the Sins, & is now Merlin’s experiment, Estarossa got taken out like a wimp against King, & Zel....... he gave Escanor a somewhat even fight.
This series has trouble not ending fights in Curb-Stomps, like someone always has to be overwhelmingly superior.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Mela was probably the only good one. Her losing a 6 v 1 fight isn't too surprising.
Heart of StoneOne of the things that made me gradually lose interest in the series. Mael vs King was the most egregious that I can think of atm.

And then Merlin went and said that she had a lot of cool abilities she could've used instead of turning into a snake.
Which never helps.
Even the movie has these issues.
I know the Black Knights are just movie villains but the way they were beaten was just embarrassingly lame. Like that lion guy who panicked just by being hit with a couple elemental bolts from Merlin. It wasn't even major spells, she just literally pelted him with some tiny-ass fire/ice/wind/earth-bolts and then he panicked & suffered a Villainous Breakdown, running away from her like a coward.
It was a very dumb scene. Ya think they would have had her win through a more over the top & bombastic manner fitting a movie.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."As you can clearly see the Seven Deadly Sins RPG has some major gameplay issues. I heard it will get a patch to buff enemy stats, improve enemy AI, and give them new abilities in 2077.

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession. The point I realized what we were in for was when Escanor's mere soul was still stronger than a Commandment.

I feel like you guys took a lot longer to catch on than I did. Like, when the Ten Commandments first showed up, I was going 'oh cool, maybe now we'll actually have some antagonists that pose a realistic threat to the heroes'. And then Galan was an absolute breath of fresh air when he first showed up, but then Escanor started existing and systematically murdered any chance any bad guy had of feeling threatening ever again.
Escannor introduction really was the point when the series started going downhill.
In retrospect the fact that he was using one of the Graces makes that scene make more sense

Heart of StoneAt least Escanor's purpose is to be the teams explicitly overpowered teammate which in itself is not a bad thing.
Its just they never did follow up on that he could possibly be a Team-Killer. Half the time he first showed up I was expecting him to brutalize Ban for interrupting or back-talking him.
The truest sign is when Mel fought two Commandments at once & the rest of the cast just stood from the side-lines whilst stating they would only be a hindrance meaning the series outright stated the absolute unimportance of the grand majority of its cast.

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Escanor just destroyed any tension whenever he was around. It made no sense why he just waited a month while the demons conquered Britannia.
A lot of series have a "Whitebeard-like" character.
This one for some reason had him join the main cast less than halfway through.

hey, if i remember corectly Ban still haven't got his sacred treasure back right. Where did that thing go anyway?
E.T technically is a Isekai movieIt got stolen while he was in prison. That's it.
I'm just glad Ban made it back from Team Jobber. And he might not really be a straight up example, but I do like that he's just a human and yet he's going even with a Physical God.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Ban's immortality is gone now, so he is just human again. Though I never understood why being immortal was supposed to mean he wasn't human in the first place.
Or somehow undead when that's the exact opposite of being immortal.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Because they're the same in Japanese.
Chapter's out.
Great way to make your villain threatening.
