Anybody else here been following the Disney Kingdoms titles? So far we've had Seekers of the Weird based on the rejected Museum of the Weird concept for the Haunted Mansion and today starts Figment, based on the original Journey into Imagination.

They could have started the Marvel Disney imprint by picking up from where BOOM!'s stellar offerings had left, but nooooooooooooooooo, we had to get this instead...

Whoa now! Being bitter about Disney sitting on the unprinted Boom stuff is one thing, but these park comics are actually pretty good, plus goddammit, the long wait Disney parks fans have had in regards to a return of Dreamfinder in some form can pretty much be summed up thusly

Figment's been doing ridiculously well the last couple months. Issue 2's is headed to a third printing and the reviews have all been pretty great. Issue 3 comes out on Wednesday.

Next title is coming in March, based on Big Thunder Mountain http://marvel.com/news/comics/23521/ride_big_thunder_mountain_railroad_in_march_2015

Looks to be a mix of Magic Kingdom's new Barnabas T Bullion story and elements of the father-daughter conflict in Phantom Manor. Additionally, the game plan as the imprint goes on is to establish this as a shared Disney universe.

Between Kingdoms, the return of Darkwing Duck, IDW getting the classic Disney licenses, and the Fantagraphics reprint, Disney Comics are making an aggressive comeback now.
