Screwball Ecchi wouldn't do this series justice. No...Completely off the fucking walls borderline-pornography...now that ought to do it.

Prison School is about five boys being sent to a...Well, prison school by the Underground Student Council, for peeping. So tons of homo-antics, attempted break outs, and Ecchi up the maximum ensue.

You might dismiss this as your bread and butter Ecchi comedy, but no..It's more than that.To say the series's sense of humor is offbeat is a gross understatement. Only here will you find parallels drawn between the classic "Tits or Ass" question and the evolution of man. Here, you will also find a man hosting a funeral for his porn collection, a main protagonist whose ass gets regularly stabbed, a group of perverted friends driven not by friendship, but wet-tshirt contests...You get the picture.

As insane as these gags get, however, it's nothing without the hilarious contrast between the tone and the art. The art is this realistic, gorgeously detailed seinen-y kind of deal. Something you'd expect from a serious series, which Prison School is anything and everything but.

I'd recommend you'd check it out, as long as you have a strong stomach, when it comes to fan-service.

First reply validates Mari's superiority over the riffraff.

112 translated chapters so far. But there are about 139 in total. The other 27 are untranslated and the translators seem dead set on not catching up. I guess I should be happy that they're keeping a strict weekly schedule...?

Also, really curious about when the falling out between Mari and her dad happened. Though, I do have the sneaking suspicion that it had something to do with his porn.

Honestly, this isn't really fanservicey as much as it is well... Porn. It's seriously got the most pornish aestethic I've seen outside of actual porn.

It says a lot about this series that a girl-to-girl chat about bondage is one of the more adorable moments.

I guess I should feel sorry for her, but the nature of the manga just dispels any sort of sympathy I might have for the "pitiful" characters. I'm sorry Prison School characters, you're all too funny for me to sympathize with. Have my sides though, you've certainly earned them more than once.

I think I cried a little when Gakuto shat his pants.

For like the first 60 or so chapters I kept thinking "Okay I'm dropping this." And yet I still ended up reading the next chapter anyways. Don't know why, this series isn't really my kind of thing and yet even now I want to see more of it.

So yay I guess.

I marathoned through all the translated stuff.

I've never thought of dropping it until the most recent (translated) chapters where there's some kind of "story arc" about Andre turning someone else into a sadist actor with his preferences, I mean the rest of it is still plenty funny(even things including Andre, like his Andreconomics thing and it backfiring), but that's just disgusting.

I was kind of annoyed at the number of chapters spent on U.Prez's and U.Vice-Prez's backstory though, if only because I can't bring myself to care at all and actually can't bring myself to even dislike the new major antagonist just because of who the victims are.

Starting at random points and binging here and there.

It's so insane that I kinda can't help liking it. I think Andre's not that likeable aside from typical bro interactions and the blonde dude, what's his name, is forgettable, but Kiyoshi, Gakuto and Joe are brilliant. I still can't get over the fact Joe looks like an Assassin 24/7. The ecchi feels almost unnecessary at times - I just wanna see these guys interact with each other and their love interests.

Coincidentally, it also jumpstarted some inspiration for a story I had in mind with an all-bros cast. Splendid.

@captianpat: I think I shit my pants along with him laughing my ass off.

Also, anyone else notice the slight changes in character desing the illustrator's been doing? I don't know if it's just me, but Kiyoshi looks way better than he did in chapter 1, along with Mari and Chiyo. VP's always looked good, and Hana's delish. I feel that he improves on their design the more relevant they get.

For the record, Andre's segments are gettting pretty disgusting. Maybe they always were, but I'm just acutely noticing now how disturbed I'm getting at some of the things being imposed on him. With all that, he still finds something to complain about. I guess I can't undertsand the mind of a true M then.

I think they have become more uniform, but a little more simplified as it went on. Just the usual Art Evolution really, just this one started at a high point already.

Oh god, they're making an anime. I don't think the world is ready.

I still think the bottle rocket in the pool was the most memorable joke in a while.

The first episode of the anime came out yesterday.

It's pretty fast for an adaptation. The first 6 or so chapters of the manga were adapted.

Not sure how good Prison School's art looks, but it maintains the manga's humor just fine for my taste.
