Well, Scootaloo's one of the reasons that I originally had it the old way. Of course, you could treat her as simply not meeting the prerequisites (presumably strength as her dexterity seems fine).

If you wanted something like that, I'd be happy to work something out for you, assuming that you really wanted that.

I personally think options for playing disabled characters in general should be there, but don't want to encourage people to use disability as a way to Min Max.

Presumably that wouldn't be a huge risk if the disabilities really were debilitating. A pegasus without Flight does have a few disadvantages compared to able-bodied members of the other races, since they seemed to have been balanced for flight.

Not a huge disadvantage, but you can go further. Like, nobody is going to trade 'working legs' for an extra ability.

Well, let's try getting the basic rules working for doing anything fancy.

Which hopefully they are now.

Hopefully we will be able to start playing soon.

@Wryte: I haven't had you accept my Skype request yet, but if you're still interested, you can still join.

Otherwise, we seem to have a lot of interest, so maybe it's time to close signups.

Cool. I'll probably draw up my character today or tomorrow. I have a couple of concepts, but while it's kiiiinda cheaty to try and look ahead I should ask, do you have any specific idea of where the campaign is going? Both of my concepts so far are fairly heavily invested in survival(A Travel Agent named Over Yonder whose special talent is 'hitting his target', which applies to both marksmanship and finding locations/things, and a Cartographer named Compass Rose whose special talent is surveying and, well, mapmaking). If the entire campaign takes place in or nearby cities, they aren't as useful, is all I'm thinking.

How many points did basic TK originally cost? I'll have to reallocate those points.

Also, Here's an online spreadsheet version of the character sheet I whipped up, if anybody wants to copy the format to use.

Awesome!

I have an idea, though I try to keep fairly sandboxy and avoid railroading. Unless you guys surprise me, I know what will happen.

I will be surprised if you don't leave Equestria. I will also be surprised if you never enagage in combat.

How many points did basic TK originally cost?

Just 1.

I'll have to reallocate those points.

Shouldn't be hard.

It's a good one.

EDIT: And donkey'd!

Duly noted!

In that case I'll probably go with Over Yonder, since his marksmanship gives a built-in excuse for combat abilities.

I presume going by the show's level of tech the most advanced ranged weaponry reasonable would be a crossbow or regular bow?

@JT I like your sheet but, can't get it to copy right without the formatting getting fucked up.

[up]What are you copying it into? If you're copying it into like an excel spreadsheet that might mess it up. Maybe try pasting it into another google spreadsheet and see if that works.

They have canons as well. Guns are a bit inconvenient to develop as bows are better than the earliest guns overall as far as ponies are concerned as their advantages are less significant for them and they have extra problems. As such, while they could theoretically develop guns, they haven't.

EDIT:[up]That still affects the formatting for some reason. I tried it already. But I was able to fiddle and get something workable from it easily enough.

Also, that reminds me. Assets. I'm going to assume that you are all middle-class-ish and let you have and buy stuff as if that's true at first. Inventory maintenance will only become an issue later on.

I would make it so that if you wanted to play as a foal or colt, then those things wouldn't be free. Alternatively, you can make it so that foals and colts simply can't have those abilities at all until the DM deems it appropriate for them.

There's also Luminosity's format. Harder to scroll through but easy to work with.

Yeah. That's what I ended up doing for telekinesis. Not a big deal yet as we're keeping things basic for now. No foal characters.

Also, Cardicia is clearly not local. Anypony else not local?

Huh. Looks like Luminosity more or less stole Hassle Hoof's thunder with that character.

Oh well. That's what you get for waiting too long with statting out your stuff. Guess I'll go with Fedora the hatter instead. She makes hats.

Bit of a disappointment. I was looking forward to playing Hassle Hoof.

That also works pretty well. Probably a good combo of our two versions.

[up]Wouldn't "Writing" be more of a specialisation for the "Perform" skill? I mean, I get that Craft is used for most creative endeavours, but since the check governs mostly handiwork, it seems a bit odd to have it include such a purely academic form of art.

I probably used the wrong words there, but I'm sure you get what I mean.

I also personally think that "thinking" might be a bit too broad a special talent, but I got an awful habit of backseat GM-ing, so I'll shut up until Sereg looks at it.

In this game though having a broad special talent is a double edged sword. Sure it comes with bonuses on a lot of skills, but it means your stability will be at risk a lot more often.

Yes, but I can't really think of a situation where it's possible for someone to not think. Except maybe while sleeping. Theoretically, you could be saying that you are applying your special talent bonus to any and all rolls that aren't completely physical checks.
