Indeed, I do agree that it was not handled in the best way... however, they did post their intentions for their character before Krika did, though they finished their sheet at a later date. I can't tell for sure, but I do think that in the WIP sheet they posted twenty minutes before Krika it did say that their intended race was a Breton.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

We've been lucky so far in not having any real conflicts or overlap in the slots, so I'm not saying that in itself is a huge and insurmountable thing or evidence of misconduct or anything. The overlap and the fact that anything the GM says about the matter will necessarily be tinged with the knowledge that the GM has a vested interest in disallowing Krika's Breton and the sole authority to do so are two different problems, though.

It's been fun.

It all depends on whatever the GM decides to go with, however, I speak in support of the GM when I point out that they do appear to have the earlier claim to the race by around twenty minutes. Not everyone is cut out to be a pure GM that only handles NP Cs and situations from behind the curtain and I don't believe there is anything wrong to want to play as well on the game you're running as long as you don't start to try and steal the spotlight. This could have all been avoided if they had claimed the Breton race in their very first post, however, I'd point out that they did claim the Breton spot before any other sheets were submitted and only vague claims on races were given.

That's very true. Like I said, I'm really more concerned with the fact that I don't know how best to resolve this dispute, since we can't really ask the GM to take an unbiased stand on it.

It's been fun.

Well, bias or no bias, this is his game. It's entirely up to him whenever he prefers to stand by his Breton or adapt him into another race. He does have the earlier claim, so even if he was only a player and not GM I don't think either choice of his should be reproached.

If I'm sure of something it's that I'm not sure of anything.

I know this probably doesn't count for much, but I was talking with Krika yesterday morning on Skype and he had been working on that Breton for several hours before this new one ever popped up. Red was there too, and possibly Glado (I can't remember if he was online), so they can confirm.

I can't honestly say that I remember that, so I won't, but I do think twenty minutes is within the reasonable timeframe for someone to vanish into typing a signup sheet in a new post and not check on the thread for a while, as well, or to not be notified of an edit made while posting.

I certainly can believe that, as Krika managed to finish their very complete sheet when the G Ms was only a work in progress. However, this is a situation only the GM can rule upon... and given the limited slots for desired races in the game, claiming a spot seems to be a wise way to go before sinking so much effort into making a character.

Anyway, we can only wait for the final ruling of the GM and see what they have to say.

Oh also, finished my own sheet, which was edited into my first post in the thread.

Alright, after some thinking, I've decided to not do a Breton character, instead deciding to do a Snow Elf character (on the idea that the Snow Elves slowly but surely made a comeback following the Dragonborn's adventures)

Also, signups are closed to NEW players- if you already posted in here saying you'd post your application later, you can still do that.

  • Name: Ra'Kir
  • Age: 41
  • Race: Khajiit
  • Birthsign: The Lord
  • Homeland: Riften, Skyrim
  • Bio: Though born in Riften to members of the thieves guild, Ra'Kir aspired to the life of a merchant. At the age of 15, after escaping his home, he ran to Ivarstead, where he was picked up by a group of travelling Khajiit merchants. With them, he learned the skills of the trade, and also the basics of fighting to fight off bandits and wolves. After ten years of travelling with this foster family, he started His own group, often times selling exotic products from his adventures into dungeons and bandit hideouts.
  • Personality: Sly and sarcastic, Ra'Kir loves being witty and likes to show off how clever he can be. While he discarded a thieves life for that of a merchant, it's difficult to guage where he stands morally. He likes talking but isn't all to fond of others outside his adopted families. He'll give you a good deal on one thing just to rip you off on another. An enigmatic character. Not to be trusted, but also a useful ally and potentially a good friend if you get close.
  • Possessions/Equipment: Various expensive items, briefly possessed a Stone of Barenziah before having it stolen one day. Also has other items for his store.
  • Skills/Abilities: Is quite charismatic and can talk himself into many better deals. Is adequate at fighting but relies on sneaking in and getting the jump on his enemies most of the time. Is skilled with alchemy, smithing , archery, sneaking, lockpicking and pickpocketing.
  • Fighting Style: Uses a glass bow bow to strike from the shadows. Also has a poisoned steel dagger for close range combat.

I've finished my character sheet, but once again I'm at a place where I only have internet access on my phone (I tried moving the files but it didn't work).

Any races still open? I'll go with either Breton or Altmer, if they're available. I can have a character sheet done by tomorrow afternoon.

[up] Krika already made a breton and I was going to post my entry as an altmer as soon as I could. I think I could tweak my character to be a redguard if necessary; if we have the time we could try to work something out.

Alright, that would be great! I'm on my phone right now, as my school's Internet is being persnickety. I'm open to being just about any race, cause I really wanna participate in some way in this.

I'm going to assume that there aren't any races available anymore, which sucks since I was actually interested in joining this RP.

I can deal with playing an Orc, assuming the Nord position isn't taken.

I wonder what non-standard races would work, too. Spriggans? Giants? Hagravens? Draugr? Dragon Priests? Trolls? Dremora? Wispmothers? Goblins?

I always figured that dragon priests were just humans empowered by their masks.

Here it is, he might be changed into a redguard in the near future.

Name: Aldarel (male)

Age: 23

Race: high elf

Birthsign: atronarch

Homeland: Skyrim, Morthal

Bio: a month before the dragons appeared in Skyrim aldarel’s parents fled the Aldmeri Dominion into Skyrim. There they traveled from place to place to avoid Thalmor patrols. With the Stormcloak victory the Thalmor’s presence in Skyrim greatly diminished (presumably), and the two were able to settle in Morthal and years after the disappearance of the Dragonborn conceive a child.

Growing up aldarel learned magic from Agni and the occasional mage visiting Jarl Idgrod when they had the time to spare; here he learned about his birthsign. He also learned a bit about physical combat in order to fend off any frostbite spiders that threatened him when low on magicka; a skill that helped him when he started searching for his own ingredients to make magicka potions.

The site of Morvath’s lair had been closely watched ever since the vampire’s planned attack was stopped by the Dragonborn, but one day the guards sent there had not returned from their shift at the ordered time. Aldarel, having just learned how to heal another person’s injuries, accepted a position in a search party. There they found the guards in a trance, muttering incomprehensibly. Near the back of the cave was a phantasmal image, seemingly not sentient or animate to be ghosts, of a woman and young child. Aldarel attempted to approach the image, but without warning he felt something pass through the cave. In the distance, the ghosts of the vampires who followed Morvath emerged from the shadows.

While the search party barely made it back to safety, it was many days before Aldarel started acting like is old self again. Help was requested from Ulfric’s army to secure and investigate the lair. Months passed and no other sign was found in the lair. However, the courier bringing the order recalling the soldiers also had a message for Aldarel, saying that the Graybeards of High Hrothgar wanted to see him.

Personality: often appearing calm to the point of serenity, aldarel is rarely prone to sudden actions unless someone is at risk. This doesn’t make him un-emotive or asocial however, though he prefers asking questions in conversations. Aldarel is anxious at the thought of becoming a vampire, and saves cure disease potions in the case that he’s infected.

Possessions/Equipment:

-iron sword and dagger

-leather armor

-belted tunic

-restore magicka potions

-cure disease potions

Skills/Abilities:

-destruction

-restoration

-alteration

-alchemy

-one handed

-light armor

-stealth

-his birthsign gives him a lot of magicka to work with, and gives him the occasional chance to absorb spells cast at him, but prevents him from regaining magicka naturally. (You might not want to approve this part, I’ll wait and see.)

Fighting Style: aldarel makes a point to travel in forests and foothills so that when he’s attacked, he’ll have plenty of room to maneuver, allowing him to conserve his magicka. In situations where he finds it best or necessary to fight physically he carries a long blade, and uses his height and reach as an altmer to keep some distance between himself and his attackers

Spells Known: candlelight, healing/fast healing/healing hands, flames, frostbite, stoneflesh, lightning bolt, lighting rune, steadfast ward, detect life.

Does the event in the bio interfere with the plot you have planned?
