Also, ever since I read the endgame spoilers of 3 I've had this dumb joke kicking around in my head:
"UI have discovered new adept dragon but it is so powerful that it does not have a Septima but Octima so we must observe with hasty."
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.So after kinda letting it sit for a while, I'm watching some youtube videos of 3 (I'd seen a bit before hand, but now I'm starting again).
Once again, the game points out that a long time has passed since the second game (Kirin states that Lumen was a virtual Idol before she was even borne).
We also know that at least Decades have passed, but the game never goes into details.
I do wish we got a bit of information on previous characters.
One Strip! One Strip!I think the writers for this series have an issue with bringing back old characters. Moniqa and Geno disappeared after the first game; Mytyl, Nori, Xiao, and Quinn were barely in any game after 2; most of the supporting cast from L Ai X 1 were absent from L Ai X 2, though Kohaku was a major character in both games.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. This is why I get annoyed when people try to say this was a unique problem in 3. Gunvolt was always bad at handling it's sidecast.
It does feel like an inherent problem that the writers don't know how to keep the characters in the loop so they consistently "soft reset" everything

Well, if nothing else the game does look pretty fun.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. It's well worth the price for gameplay alone imo.
Tried out the demo today. Battle Priestess Kirin seems like a pretty fun game, though the new gameplay style takes a while to get used to, especially when it came to learning how to tag bosses for effective damage.
And wow, the extent to which Gunvolt's life has been ruined by the end of the prologue is amazing. By the time you get to the part where he's been turned into a dog, it crosses the line into comedy.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut.New boss fight dropped. You can now fight Merak and Teseo.
Apparently NOBODY likes this Timeskip aspect.
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!I'm not surprised to hear that. Did you learn something in particular that inspired that comment?
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. Its just like its on both sides of the bases
Its not like its a West hate it but Japan loves it deal... nah it kinda the same feeling on both ends.
people like the new characters and the gameplay the best its been but like No one is happy that GV is basically a side character in his third game and everything just got dropped with Xiao, Quill, and Copen for largely a Monster of the week plot premise
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!Honestly, from what I could tell Gunvolt 3 would have worked just fine if they'd had it as a sidestory set in the same time period as Gunvolt 2 and just... didn't have Gunvolt in it.
I feel like the timeskip was done so Gunvolt could be in the game but they didn't have to bring back any other characters from 2. And since Gunvolt is a Supporting Protagonist who's not even the player character most of the time, he feels like a case of Wolverine Publicity in his own game.
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. They prolly felt the need to include GV cause with the last game being a Copen sequel they didn't want to go too many games without a proper GV installment in-between
Maybe that's just me assuming

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Honestly the more I think about it the more I view Azure Striker Gunvolt 3 as Inti Creates making a Battle Priestess Kirin game and just shoving Gunvolt in it. Gunvolt really feels shoehorned into this game. They could have cut Gunvolt out, and had Moebeuis be the person that Kirin seals in the beginning. Image pulse could be changed to Vision pulse and use Moebeuis' ability to see other timelines and futures as the basis to temporarily summon characters and abilities from those timelines for Kirin to use. Thinking about it Gunvolt really does seem like he was just shoved into the game so they could call it a Azure Striker Gunvolt game.
3 also breaks from the Dante's inferno theming...
1 was the Inferno most prevalent in the Sin theming of the Robot masters and The Final boss represents Betrayal and GV becomes a Traitor to his allies
2 Is Purgatory, while not obvious in theming of the Masters, its most obvious in that the final battle is on Eden 'the top of the mountain' The final opponents represent lust/desire and Hopelessness The two key sins to overcome though the ending hits home with both Copen and GV letting go of the girl they desire... though copen being copen still hasn't learned the lesson he needs
3... pretty much breaks that Hell its the first time neither the Dragon Saviors or Atem Knights hit the sweet spot of 8 robot masters -7 and thier boss
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole! They added a new ending.
Interesting. Do you know how you get it?
Nach jeder Ebbe kommt die Flut. Its just an additional scene, just replay the final battle...
...
Some people really like it but it kinda reinforces the notion that this wasn't GV 3 it was Battle Priestess Kirin featuring Gunvolt from Devil May Cry
I'm A Pervert not an Asshole!New update added a super boss: Azure Striker Nova.

Well apparently the Xiao thing does have a nod thrown to it... not sure if it is real or just a joke but here is the scene, note it is a spoiler.
