I saw that, although it's hard to say much based on one issue.
It was really.....random. I get the impression it might one of those "weird people doing random things with some vague rom-com hints" type deals. Sorta like No-Rin or d-frag this season.
I liked the notion that mascot has no-one inside. and a top speed of 35 KMH wtf?
Given how this will be what we will be getting either before or after Free, it's best to get some impressions early. Now, this is Gatoh, so he knows his slapstick, both on his time in FMP as well as his work with Kyo Ani, but yeah, it was a strange start to say the least. We do get a snarky lead though...
A thread for this already? I'm not expecting the anime before October
Manga was okay, but not enough so for me to really want to follow it. But as a seperate adaptation of the source material, it may be very different from the anime
Well an animated adaptation will always have an execution difference due to the scriptwriter per episode and director, but at the very least the manga will give people an idea what to expect. Plus this is a Kadokawa property, and not an in-house LN, so...
Also that MC. So narcissistic.

Second chapter of the manga is out by the way, in the usual places.
Where we have a kiss, and some magic. The latter of which turns out to be very VERY real.
And this: A miracle is called a miracle specifically because it doesn't happen. Way to be optimistic about the situation, ji-san.

Key visual confirms this for a Fall 2014 release◊. Also LOL at the MC now looking like Oreki, but at least the girls still retain much of their LN designs, barring the usual Kyo A Ni eyes.
They just know that Oreki is the sexiest.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gFmGNqji4u0Chapter 5 is out and we finally meet the opposition. Mhmm, I could just hear the gears start grinding in our MC's mind right there at the end.
Phonerip of the PV shown at Comiket. Looks like we're getting... padding, as well as later-book characters being introduced early (the elemental fairies are Book 3 characters) as apparently this is going to adapt a single book again. KYOANIIIII!
Non-phoneripped PV. Also the Akino OP is much more audible obviously:
My, the OP does not fit the tone of that PV
So, they do seem to be trying to carry on the tone, if not the style, of the original work. Which is good, I guess
So wait. Does this exist in the world of Full Metal Panic, or not?
I've only seen the manga, but it doesn't go far enough to tell. Going by the girls in the pv....I would say "no". I never got that far in FMP, but I don't remember any overt supernatural powers in that.
I'd say no. While it looks like a Bonta-kun suit, it actually has a different name in Amagi Brilliant Park — "Moffuru"/Muffle.
The manga at least implies that it isn't a suit also.
Aaaaaand the new episode is here. Being more familiar with the manga, I spotted the differences immediately, though in the end the point is still gotten accross — the park needs help, and pronto.
As for the differences that I recall:
- Less narcissism! Granted, it was mostly due to Seiya's rambling internal monologues, but in the anime you get a feel that he's less the self-centered jerk he was in the manga/LN.
- The elemental fairies. You do know you girls are supposed to be introduced in book 4, right? That said, with the revelation that they're singing the ED, it all makes perfect sense.
- Seiya's "magic". The manga went a ways to show that, due to Latifa being weak, the magic that Sei ended up with not only ended up ridiculously situational, it was single-use only. Talk about working with what you had.
- The 3-month timeframe. I remember it being a single month in the manga.
After the sad delay of the anime for a women's volleyball match, I was expecting to watch it today only to find that subs are coming in late and are actually posted on TUESDAY! >: I had to stay at home a bit late just to catch the premiere. Thanks a ton, Japan.
I must admit, having the elemental fairies appear in the pilot felt very out-of-place. They're in their top form, clean, polished, colorful, and full of life- the rest of the park is old, decrepid, run down, and poorly managed. I think its' because the anime staff clearly saw dollar signs with them and wanted to push them in the forefront from the get-go so they could capitalize on merch. Anime girls... sigh...
Overall, I enjoyed it immensely! The deadpan/annoyed contrast of the 2 leads was hilarious, and I am a sucker for parks as themes of a show. Why do we not see parks as the subject of anime more often!? i would wanna go to Brilliant Park... well, before it became a waste, that is. I await finding out more about the Maple Land characters.

Did anyone put the names together? you got to think about them for a sec but then it's mind blowing.◊
Sento Isuzu is such a fun name to say...
50 cents? I don't get if that's a reference to something, but cool. 'Latifa' sure ain't self explanatory to me, someone spoonfeed me.
"And you must be Jonathan Joestar!" - SueSo it's basically a millennial Hirohiko Araki naming convention?
The only difference I noticed was the elemental fairies, but I don't really see the problem

Mind you, three months is quite a buffer compared to the two weeks that was the time limit in the manga and LN. Also, the anime seems to have conveniently forgotten the fact that Latifa's supposed to be blind.
I think they may just be saving that revelation for later? Her introduction scene was really cut down in general
Kyoani never does things in the right order. Heck the Faeries are not suppose to be introduced till book 4 and we might not even get that far.

Let's get this started shall we?
A while back it was finally announced what Kadokawa property Kyo Ani will adapt. Hints pointed to something that would be penned by Shouji Gotoh, known more for Full Metal Panic.
Obviously what we got wasn't Full Metal Panic, but this instead. Pretty generic at first glance, and the art style◊ for the LN (will be IMMEDIATELY familiar to some people) doesn't help dispel the notion that this will be typical harem romcom tripe.
Anyway, the setup is as follows — a teenager is "volunteered" by the mascot of a run-down amusement park to save it from closure. However, as said amusement park is seemingly owned by a princess, there's definitely more than it first seems.
There are 3 books out so far, but for those curious, there's also a manga out, which will apparently adapt the first book. The first chapter of the manga is out in the usual places and it's... surprising, to say the least. At the very least, the story throws a few unexpected curveballs to spice up what seems to be a "save this business" story.
