I like trans Xion but that's just because I'm trans and like Xion.

I also headcanon Sora as a trans girl and I feel like there were reasons for this originally but at this point I'm just attached to a headcanon I've had forever.

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

[up] That's cool.

In hindsight, I like the idea of. Kairi as a transgirl a lot? Having this metaphysical force or whatever/however the princesses of heart/"maidens of the purest heart" thing works validate your gender identity would be really cool/great and dangit I should have done it but I already wrote her as cis, so. Maybe in a rewrite or edit or another fic, but I wanna finish what I've got on my plate first.

I imagine Riku during Days when he looks like Ansem is probably. Dysphoric as hell. On top of all the other issues Riku's got. Not that it's a gender dysphoria per se, but.

don't get me started on what i think is up with the xehanorts gender and sexuality wise

Xemnas is. An Experience. And I think the thing He loves most in all the worlds is. Probably Himself.

...One thing with Xion is that, she mentions in her journal entries that when she starts getting Sora's memories, she thinks it's weird that they're her memories? So. For all that she's supposed to be a Replica of Sora, from her perspective, it seems like experiencing things Sora experienced as Sora seems slightly dysphoric or off to her? So.

I've talked before about why I think Larxene thinks Demyx is better at teaching Newbies than she is. Apparently, Demyx actually. Does things. When Larxene makes him. So that's a bizarre and interesting dynamic that is completely offscreen in the games, but that Demyx mentions.

I don't like how it gets. Sincerely shippy. Between Larxene and Demyx. Because I prefer Larxene in just. Evil bitch all the time mode.

I also. Really like the backstory in the novels of Larxene as traumatized, and heartbroken, and deliberately, consciously hardening herself into a. Monster. Now that she doesn't have a heart to feel empathy, sympathy or remorse with. That's a fascinating take on the whole Nobody thing.

So, I mentioned I think of Axel/Lea as trans, and.

Honestly it's because some really fucking good fic based around Lea being trans.

One is Aqua/Lea called something about infatuation by someone named pepsipink on ao3. It's a. Smut fic? Of Aqua/Lea.

They're adults, it's cool, but I don't. Think TV Tropes's policy allows for NSFW links?

The other one is Affecting Eternity by Cygna_Hime.

I know double-post, I just remembered I have a snippet with Riku I want feedback on:

"GET ME OUTTA HERE!"

"I'm trying!" Riku shouted.

"IT'S SCARY IN HERE!"

"Sorry," Riku said with a wince, trying to be sympathetic to the plight of the wooden child he was really supposed to be apologizing to and redeeming himself towards as he dodged around a tentacle to deliver another blow.

This fight only started a little over a minute ago and it was already getting on the teen boy's nerves.

"HEEEEEEEELP!"

"I'm trying," called Riku, as he climbed up the creature's back and somersaulted forward to deliver an axe kick to the top head. "I just need you to-!"

"GET ME OUTTA HERE!"

"I AM DAMMIT!" Riku finally snapped and, with a snarl, lunged forward slashing through the prison bar-like jars of the bottom head, coming to a stop behind where the monstrosity had been, as he heard it dissipate and release its heart, feeling the darkness of its form dissipate and disperse and wash over him like a calming, cradling mist.

He turned around, ready to make a joke to Sora, but his words froze in his throat.

Pinnochio stared up at him, with fear in his eyes, which was more than understandable given the mangled mess of torn fabric and splintered wooden crossbeams separating his upper body from his bottom.

Riku felt like he was going to gag as he watched the legs, bent awkwardly and seemingly broken and snapped in a fall, as they twitched once in an attempt to stand. He looked up into a pair of bright blue eyes as the wooden boy grasped at the floor desperately with his arms trying to pull himself away from Riku. "Father! Blue Fairy! Jiminy! Somebody, ANYBODY!"

As Riku watched, Maleficent strode forward behind the little puppet boy, who seemingly didn't notice even as she placed her staff against his back as he continued to pull himself away, forcing Pinnochio to sit upright while he came to a stop and continued to stare at Riku.

"What were you expecting?" Maleficent asked. "That you could redeem yourself in his eyes?"

Her finger was extended towards the puppet, and as Riku watched, frozen in place, a single green flame appeared and hovered at the end of her black fingernail, before expanding and seemingly sucking all the air out of the room.

Riku stood there, and as he watched the walls of the whale's belly burn around him, and Maleficent threw her head back in peals of endless laughter, he realized something. He remembered the feasts after a whale washed up on shore, the bonfires, and the smell of burning blubber and wood.

That smell was nowhere to be found in the green inferno.

"It's not real," Riku said.

Maleficent's cackling petered out, and she looked at him with disappointment. "Come again?"

"None of this was real!" Riku challenged, the seashell charm gripped tightly in his hand. "I can still make it up to the real Pinnochio some day."

Maleficent just tsked at him. "This castle has no power but to show you the contents of your heart; both your memories and the feelings those memories invoke."

"What are you saying!" Riku snapped.

Maleficent's face softened into one of pity. "That what you saw is nothing more or less than what you believe in your heart. If you truly believed you could ever save that pathetic puppet, your heart would not have compelled the wretched thing to jump in front of your blade."

Riku stood stock still for the longest time, his head bowed and staring at the floor. A single drop of fluid rolled down his nose and splashed against the charred ground.

Maleficent said nothing, but her lips pursed, and a look of discomfort passed across her face. "What are you-"

In an instant, Riku surged forward, taking the witch by surprise as he buried his face in her sternum, knocking her ungracefully to the floor and sending her staff flying across the room. She braced herself for the end of this instance of herself, but it never came, leaving her with a sobbing human teenager pressed to her breast. She raised her hand for an instant, unsure what to do to rectify this unfortunate situation, as the physical strength of her body had never been a strong suit, before finally, she resigned herself to placing the talons of her hand on the back of the boy's head and neck, rubbing up and down in an attempt to soothe.

It was strikingly similar to the last time that they had been in this position, not so long ago when this same boy had arrived on her doorstep, and just as before Maleficent resolved to never speak of this moment again, even as she murmured soft hymns in the tongue of the faeries under her breath into the boy's scalp.

And, just as before, she cursed Xehanort and Ansem for putting her in this position, forcing her to do all the work while reaping none of the benefit.

Well, things would be different this time, she swore. With every moment, and especially as Riku's attachment grew, she felt herself growing stronger by leaps and bounds, and would soon be no longer condemned to the bleak abyss her former "partner" had consigned her to.

And after that-!

Well.

After that would have to come later, she thought, as the body pressing her to the ground slackened and the breathing evened into sleep and her already limited physical form and the room around them disappeared without the focus of memory to sustain them, forcing her to bide her time to return later.

Anyway, a. Thing. I'm running into is.

I sorta kinda wanna do stuff with Marluxia? But also I hate writing Marluxia, but I also also double-hate the possibility of having to. Deal with. The BS with Lauriam.

Like. In the Days fic I had some characters imply that they knew or suspected that he was a nasty fucker even as a Somebody, but I left it vague enough that it could just be a. Lucky guess? Now, in light of the KHUX BS.

Which. I hate that it happened. But there are interesting story ideas and potential to do with it? But so far there's nothing to actually grab onto or do anything with because UX's "plot" moves like molasses.

I like it! Nice and disturbing.

I do have one question - and forgive me if you already answered this - is there an explanation as to why Maleficent is showing up like this, as opposed to canon?

As for Marluxia, I see no reason not to do so. Do you have a concrete idea of what you have planned for him? If not, perhaps you might want to wait and see what happens with him in III - see if you want to do something with that. Or is that too long a wait for your current plans?

It sounds to me that she's doing basically the same thing she did in canon a game later, reviving when people started thinking about and remembering her.

One plotline I've kicked around and keeps ending up in my plot outlines and drafts before I delete it because I think it's too crack!fic is the Nobody that gave Xion flowers in the manga decides to name herself Marx because she notices that the Organization names have the "x" in them and, doesn't know the actual exact significance of the "x" (because to be fair Xemnas never explains it until DDD) and leads a revolution of lesser Nobodies to turn against Xemnas.
I am completely behind this and will gladly enable you whenever you consider writing it.

[up][up] I mean. I explained it both in this thread and in Chapter 3.

Kairi gave Riku the Wayfinder. As a symbol and stuff, it represents hope and coming home.

It gives Riku hope.

"The closer you are to light, the greater your shadow becomes".

Without hope, Riku just has to deal with his darkness being too much.

With hope, Riku has to consider that his light just. Isn't enough.

[up] Also that.

Oh, when/if I do Land of Dragons I'm doing Genderfluid Mulan/Ping because of an amazing fic called Conversations Over Tea.

It's just. So good. So great. Every part of it. Amazing. 11/10. If you don't read it and love it I am judging you.

It's. A Disney Mulan fic and not technically a KH fic, I guess?

So something I keep circling around is how to handle Vexen in Reverse/Rebirth.

I almost want to skip him like the manga. Have Riku make fun of him and he breaks down crying and bases Repliku on pure sass.

Nomura says Vexen has an undeniable loser feel to him, but also that he's equivalent to Xemnas in terms of malevolence.

There have been really good fics about Vexen, but I feel like they lose the. Malevolence. Side of that.

And I don't know how to balance the part where. Vexen is every single bit as mean and cruel and. Evil. As Xemnas. Not that I've so far portrayed Xemnas as "Evil" per se. Although it is true that everyone except Namine is scared shitless of him.

There's more aspects of it in Day 12.8 where there's the implication that Xemnas inflicts horrific abuses on Saix with the further implication that he's projecting a little based on how he feels about Aqua.

But anyway. I dunno how to write Vexen with the right combo of evilness and. Patheticness.

Like, he'd kick all the puppies and babies in the world but he'd miss and just trip himself.

EDIT: So I missed Roxas and Xion and since "dreams hold our memories" I decided to have Naminé watching them in the Days side of the plot in her sleep.

And. For some dumb reason I can't even remember now I once wrote Xion, Naminé and Roxas all have to share a bathroom and I keep writing a scene of Roxas and Xion washing each other's backs in the shower and I cant tell if that would be too sexy or weird or not.

For. Context? I've been in situations where I had to shower with friends (some of whom were sexual partners and some of whom weren't) and family members (none of whom were sexual partners) to save money/water and time, so. If it is weird, maybe it's just because I'm weird?

Anyway, gonna post the dream sequence bit thing.

It's in a super rough draft state, with spelling and formatting stuff wrong with it I intend to fix if I decide to use it.

"We can ask Axel when he and Naminé get back! Then all four of us can have ice cream together!"

"Okay!" Xion replied with a smile and Naminé froze in the dream because of how beautiful that smile was.

The two teens sat on the clock tower a little longer and Naminé watched them, longing to be there in that perfect moment with her twin Nobody and that beautiful doll's beautiful new face.

The moment didn't last, as moments never do, and the pair of Nobody and his Replica returned to the castle, met by the unapproving gaze of Saïx. Naminé frowned at the sneering curl to his lip and how strange it was, as something niggled at the frayed edges of her perception. He had never been nice, of course not, but always seemed to respect effort and successful mission completion.

So how could he look at Naminé's friends like a foul creature and something it had left on the floor, right after a long day collecting hearts?

How could he look at that beautiful face and be anything other than enraptured?

(He cant see her face just like you couldn't at first, A traitorous thought whispered.)

(No, another, even more traitorous thought replied, you thought she wss beautiful when she didn't even have a face.)

Snapping back to the dream, she realized that somehow the pair had made their way to the showers and were casually undressing around each other.

Sora and Kairi's memories were filled with sleepovers and hot springs and baths that, at first, had been deemed cute by everyone's parents but slowly were met with slightly more suspicion and unease as the trio filled out and grew into the changes of puberty (some changes Naminé was grateful she might never have to face as she thought back to a few weeks ago, when every cramp through Kairi's midsection echoed and stung where Naminé's own womb would be) but despite the worries the three friends treated each other almost the same as they always had.

(This was not, as Naminé was increasingly aware of as she sought to rewrite their memories and feelings, because the stereotypical feelings between blooming teenagers were absent. Riku in particular had alternated between either being unable to talk to Kairi at all unless he forgot she was a girl, and eyeing her with that same hungry possessiveness he had started to have towards everything else he thought would get him the "outside world" he craved.)

(The worst part, of course, was that Kairi had noticed. And for all that she loved Riku and had thought about him constantly, she was increasingly aware of the way he thought of her as a Thing and not a person, or a friend, much less an Equal.)

(Kairi blamed herself for this, Naminé knew, for not being the one to reach out, to "fix" Riku's darkness, as in the stories and fairy tales where the light of a Beauty could fix a Beast.)

(Marluxia always waxed on about fairy tales, and at times seemed to have stepped out of one himself, but Larxene, through all her cruelties, had taught Naminé very well what she thought about the way "princesses" were "supposed to be" in stories.)

(The islands weren't like Marluxia's Age of Fairy Tales, or the world that had produced the broken girl that had become Larxene out of spite. There was no one Kairi could have turned to for help or advice. Boys and girls were trusted to play together by themselves, and no other boys ever looked at girls in the dark, possessive, aggressive way Riku had looked at Kairi.)

(Or, some thread in Kairi's-or-Naminé's subconscious pointed out, the way Ansem had once looked at Kairi, in Hollow Bastion, Before.)

(Or, another thread hinted, the way Ansem must have looked at Riku.)

Naminé winced, feeling distantly but trying to ignore as she stayed in the sweetness of sleep the way the facial movement stretched her skin across the edges of her desk, the way her crayons and pencils dug their edges into her cheek.

(How am I any different, aren't I just using her as well)

(You aren't her friend)

(She dug into the memories of island life again, turning this time through the vast distances between worlds, to the parents, what raising these heroic children of light was like, envying despite herself how it would feel to be a normal girl with someone, anyone, that cared for her or watched over her.)

(She was struck, as always, by how idyllic Island life was. How children could walk home safely and unconcerned from school, how teenagers could go off to an island by themselves without any adult supervision.)

(How a girl and two boys thought they could leave their parents behind and travel to a different world entirely, by raft of all things, without anyone stopping them because none of their friends and family knew)

She was distracted as she became aware again of the happenings in the dream, as Roxas lathered soap in the small of Xion's back, in a spot the other girl couldn't reach on her own.

She could have before, Naminé thought, as she remembered and superimposed over the girl's current form the way she had been before, with blank features, a shapeless chest, torso, hips and backside, and distinctly artificial-looking articulated joints that for all that artificiality were absurdly flexible.

She frowned and bit her lip at the realization that she was heating up more at the thought of Xion as she had been before than as she was now, at the way Xion wanted to be seen, and saw herself, with no memory and even less regard for whatever she had been like before.

The more immediately horrifying realization, however, was that somehow Naminé's own reactions were echoing in the connection to her twin, making Roxas's own body flush slightly, and the sluggish black (dark) fluid that filled a Nobody instead of blood began to slowly trickle both upward and downward to his face and his-

Naminé jerked herself upward into wakefulness, severing the connection as violently as she could, and turned her attention sharply away from it, as a result not even noticing the way her usage of power crashed against Roxas's already fragile mind, memories and body, causing him to collapse helplessly against Xion's back in a deep unconsciousness.

Why am I like this, Naminé asked herself.

"Like what," asked a low baritone in her ear, informing her she had spoken aloud, and barely giving her enough warning to suck in a breath and lean back in her chair as the dull side of a blade was pressed flat against her stomach and pulled her against the torso of another, forcing her to stand as the blade's inward-facing curved edge pulled upward so it was only an inch away from nicking her chest.

"...Weak," the girl replied, the word fading into the air the moment she said it.

The voice in her ear rumbled and purred through the chest at her back, before finally it dripped like honey when it said "You're not weak, Naminé. You're kind."

The Chapter Summary, at least so far, is "In which Alice is a Keyblade Master, and Naminé and Riku kinkshame themselves."

For, I dunno. Some context.

So.

The earlier snippet with Riku wasnt kinkshaming just. Regular shaming. The kinkshaming is a little later.

EDIT: I don't quite mean to nag, but I'm vaguely curious about any. Thoughts or responses. To the quoted snippet.

by which i mean im hella insecure about it

I have no concrete or specific thoughts about where Larxene comes from at this time.

Just general notes about how, in the novels, she genuinely seems to believe having a heart was painful, and sees no point to getting one back.

From there, I extrapolate, based on the way she talks to Namine about replacing Kairi and becoming more real than a shadow, and how invested Larxene seems in the conversation, that. Whatever Larxene used to be, it was perhaps more similar to Namine than different.

The games have parallels between Namine, Strelitzia and Rapunzel, and it isnt like the real world or any stories are devoid of shitty things that happen to women, so. I don't know that I need to get specific because there's a long list and a lot of possibilities.

I don't even need to specify whether Larxene is cis or not, transmisogyny is a thing.

...Although I was sorta hoping to have her as cis because I was going to throw "dickless" into her banter with Axel, as a slur/insult based on my trans man Axel/Lea headcanon but. Anyway it's besides the point, what matters is that Larxene is a woman, not what kind of woman.

If the novels get taken into account, and, bearing in mind that Kanemaki was apparently Nomura's boss for 358/2 Days, I'm more inclined to take the novels into account for that game at least.

Like. Apparently, for most of the games Nomura is a director, and makes notes to give to. Whoever the writers are. Nojima, Watanabe, whoever.

Not for Days. For Days, he got Kanemaki as the head scenario writer planner. Person. He already had the idea that a girl Roxas knew should be involved in his life in the Org. And why he left. Kanemaki came up with what that girl should be like as a person. And her name.

Xion's name has a shitload of meaning, we have Kanemaki to thank for that.

Nomura apparently locked himself in a room with Kanemaki's notes and plot outline, a blank word document and a can of tuna, and when he came out he had the script for Days. Then he had Kanemaki proofread it.

Days is the best-written Kingdom Hearts game to date, so I dunno where precisely to give the credit, between Kanemaki and Nomura, but I feel like if nothing else she seems like a much better editor, from that description, than anyone else in this shitshow.

Apparently Nomura also wrote 0.2, and there some of Aqua's musings about the Realm of Darkness are kinda neat. Pretty good writing there. I don't think Kanemaki came back for it, but.

Anyway, the idea that Larxene's persona was deliberately and consciously crafted in direct opposition to who she was with a heart is probably the most interesting possible take on what being a Nobody means.

Certainly hope they do something interesting with her in the games, now that everyone's getting re-Somebodied.

Anyway, I know I'm coming in days later and have no real substantive commentary for that snippet you were worried about, but I like your writing and wish to encourage it, so [tup].

On this specific point, I don't think you have to be particularly concerned about that. I mean, Roxas and Xion are kids without much opportunity to learn how to people, so they can get away with stuff that'd be weird or sexy coming from more traditionally socialized characters.

Beyond the Ocean Beach updated. Salvation Holdout Central specifically. Its one of my favorite fics, and has been incredibly influential on my writing and thoughts about the series and characters.

Maybe especially Riku's home life, which is essentially my interpretation.

Riku having the perfect family offscreen (I mean, he says "we may never see our parents again" when he ruins everything, so) would be. Weird. To me.

Like. In some respects I view pre-first game Riku as a sort of. Borderline-Incel, Kylo Ren-esque asshole.

Because, maybe not in 2002, but in 2016-2018, there is something scary and villainous about entitled manchildren.

More to the point though, all of that is. Basically there in Riku in the first game. The Islands are shown as a pretty good place, and Riku wants to leave because he wants more, because he feels trapped, because he feels better-than everything around him.

And. Making Riku's family life too perfect and good just makes Riku himself too much of an asshole for throwing it away. Pushes him into irredeemable, imho. And he isn't.

Making it too awful and abusive almost makes him justified, when part of the point is that he was ultimately wrong.

So there's a weird balance to strike. And emotional distance and social expectation+class works.

Also, we never see Riku's house in the games, but in the manga we see him at home on a fancy balcony with marble pillars and shit like a beachfront plantation and stuff. So. Riku's rich.

This Beyond the Ocean Beach offshoot is so good too.

Also I hate how I keep trying to make Alice join the party when I have no actual arc or plot necessity planned for her, and one of my biggest problems with writing the heroes is there's too many characters to write interestingly without leaving someone out.

I guess the best thing to do is to have her wake up after Trickmaster, and her awakening makes Wonderland and. That entire floor of the castle. Just vanish. Making Castle Oblivion go from 25 floors to 24.

That'd be freaky and weird. Leave her open for future use while also sorta kinda maintaining some sort of integrity and coherence.

So I've got the segment Ive been calling "the misadventures of Riku's boner" or "Riku kinkshames himself" or "tfw you've been objectifying your bffs sexually and that's another reason you're an irredeemable piece of shit" written out.

Unformatted because TV Tropes formatting is weird so just pretend there's italics and stuff.

In a weird way, having people tell me where to put italics might be interesting so I can take feedback on what should or shouldnt be emphasized.

As he stepped through, he was prepared to go from the stark halls of the castle to some other world.

He wasn't prepared to find himself staring down a shadowy version of himself, one which looked away from him to where Sora stood over Kairi's unconscious form on the bed of the captain's cabin, trying futiley to shake her awake.

The shadow grabbed Sora, so Riku jumped forward and passed through his own shadowy doppelgänger only to find himself in its place, leaning over Sora, his mouth on the other boy's, biting and possessive, pushing Sora down onto the bed next to Kairi, leaning over the two of them and he grabbed Sora's hand and placed it on Kairi's chest and squeezed. He pulled away and looked into Sora's face to see how he liked the feel of her, only to see Kairi's indigo eyes where Sora's should be, sharp, angry, hurt and accusing.

Riku came back to himself on the other side of the room, and reached to feel his heart racing as his stomach churned.

He remembered that dream. Right after Monstro, as he lay down to sleep after claiming Hook's ship as his own, he imagined how he could convince Sora to see things his way.

("Just think about it Sora," Riku's dream had insisted. "When Kairi wakes up, she'll be so grateful to us that she'll let us do whatever we want, whenever we want!")

(He already felt uncomfortable at the dreams at the time, and found himself unable to look at Kairi's unconscious body without some degree of shame, but the knowledge that Kairi's heart, her being had been with Sora's all along...)

He was dazed out of his thoughts by a noise of something along the floor, and looked up to see a shadowy version of Kairi now, sitting in the captain's chair while Sora was held down by the shadowy Riku. The real Riku approached more cautiously this time, but the moment his hand landed on his shadowy counterpart it was like he was sucked into it, seeing through its eyes as it held Sora to the ground, dragging him over to kneel at Kairi's feet as the tightness in his waders pressed into Sora's back-

He snapped himself out of the vision more forcefully this time, relieved to find that the shadowy figures were gone.

He remembered that dream too, when he had gotten back to Hollow Bastion, and tried to picture how different things could have went. He'd decided then that instead of him and Sora rescuing Kairi, he would rescue her himself, and together they'd knock some sense into Sora's thick head.

("Why don't you show her how sorry you really are," in the dream Riku had purred into Sora's ear, as Kairi's foot on his head pressed him into the deck, her golden eyes shining as she stood from the chair, ready to unhook the belt around her hips as Riku reached for the belt around Sora's and-)

Riku pinched himself as hard as he could, urging himself to focus dammit and not let his old fantasies distract him.

This was easier said than done, however, when he saw the shadowy Sora, identical to the one he'd made from Sora's shadow on this ship, staring at him like it was ready to devotedly follow his any and every command as it had before.

(Riku groaned, his fingers tightening in inky black hair-)

The shadow disappeared and Riku threw up on the floor of the cabin.

So my hope is that I was able to convey that there was a sexual component to everything there without making it. Sexy.

And also without crossing the line for sexualizing underage characters.

I want to keep the fic rated "teen" .

I also dunno if I need to additionally tag or provide trigger warnings for anything or not.

The reason I think this scene is necessary is that my goal is sorta to make Riku suffer in every world he was in during the first game.

And. There's this weird thing where when Maleficent tells Riku to take Hook and his ship, and to go to Kairi on the ship, Hook says it won't be a "pleasure cruise" and the next time we see them Hook is telling Sora "no shenanigans about my vessel" when Sora tries to go to Kairi.

So I legitimately cannot tell if James Hook is making sex jokes there or not? I mean. He is a pirate.

(As a side note, I somehow got sent a copy of Tinker Bell and the Pirate Fairy and I was not prepared for it to actually be that good, or for Captain Hook to be played by Tom Hiddleston of all people, what the fuck. I don't even like him that much, but the fact that Captain Hook is played by the dude who was tumblr's crush for a little while is hilarious and weird)

The other weird thing is that it seems like Riku's in charge of Hook almost. So that's weird and a little funny. Riku's in the captain's cabin so I guess Hook has to share a hammock with Smee now.

And anyway I found this fic about Riku in Neverland, so. If I need to torture Riku in Neverland, that works as an angle of attack. Sexual guilt.

...I am so close to finishing this fucking chapter, but I want feedback on lines and where they are and whether I've crossed them.

I mean, TV Tropes hasn't thumped that post or asked me to delete it, so I hope that's a good sign.

Also I keep wanting to add a fucking. Deleted scenes chapter. To the 0.2 fic.

That basically converts Ansem and Xemnas's scenes into What's the Use of Feeling Blue.

That Remix was on loop in a tab the entire time I was writing.

A vessel has a use, they can go and fight the War,

A Xigbar has a use, he can tell you what it's for;

A Saix terrifies, A Lexaeus terraforms, where's their Superior when they need him too, you've got to be a leader too...

but seriously i think I wrote a whole. Character analysis post thing. About that song and how its about failing to deal with grief, and then applying it to two xehanorts in this completely unrelated series.

And then I turned it into a headcanon about why the two of them are both such complete and abject failures at their jobs.

It gave me an actual insight into Ansem as a character and gave me a way to portray him when before I thought he was pointless and boring.

Ansem focuses everything externally because he literally cant give himself a second to think or self-reflect. Otherwise he'll collapse. Perhaps literally.

I'm not saying a complete lack of introspection, forethought and planning is the reason he hasnt turned into something that would make Groundshaker shit itself, but I think that would be funny.

He focuses on supreme darkness and everything with the obsession he does, because anything more concrete, material or practical might destroy him. Emotionally or otherwise.

The stars have been going out for years, falling under the Heartless with Maleficent behind them and Ansem behind her.

There's a parallel between Ansem and Yellow Diamond in SU. As world destroying conquerors.

Blue Diamond apparently left Greg at the zoo only to come back five minutes later, which parallels how Xemnas is a useless wreck that doesnt seem to do anything ever.

Ansem abandoning the princesses and Master Xehanort's plans for the x blade and balance is sorta like how YD ignores Peridots proposal for a more balanced colony.

Ansem wants his darkness, and he wants the Realm of Light to die. Everything else is insignificant.

Of course, the other pop culture thing that gave me an insight into how to portray Ansem is the Joker in the Dark Knight when he says he's a doer not a schemer, and hes like a dog chasing cars.

Not that I think either of those things are even true for the Joker in that movie, but I think they apply to how I imagine Ansem and what he aspires to be.

I don't think you've crossed lines there but then again I was reading It in my early teens so I may have a somewhat skewed idea of what should be rated T. If you're concerned you could maybe cut

as the tightness in his waders pressed into Sora's back
but I'd expect the rest to fit under "suggestive themes" just fine.

Okay, real talk:

I was way too harsh on how I wanted to treat Organization XIII because I was kind of projecting my hatred of the plot twist in 3D (you know the one) onto them because it felt like an unironic version of "Griffith did nothing wrong." and being supported by canon which just utterly infuriated me.

So, I'm going to meet you half-way.

Organization XIII are Somebodies again thanks to Sora and whoever else defeated their Heartless and Nobody forms. However thanks to having hearts again and remembering everything that they did as Nobodies and thus feel massive regret. So, they get who they can and become mercenaries for hire and they basically try do to do good wherever they can.

Their situation is going to be similar to Celestial Being from Gundam 00 season 2 where everyone hates their guts because of stuff that they did in the past but they themselves choose to atone for their misdeeds because it's the only way they feel to make up for that.

The SI is, very ironically, the first one to accept them due to becoming an Innovator due to the constant exposure of GN Particles thus becoming The Empath and a living lie detector.

You gotta start somewhere.

organization xiii did everything wrong, and they're all evil monsters

Except Roxas, Xion and Demyx

I mean, I think Lexaeus is ultimately a good man, given he's described as a hero and an Anti-Villain, but I also think he is ultimately an active participant in everything awful the Org. ever does.

If we were doing virtue ethics Lexaeus comes out on top, if we're doing consequential or action based ethics, that pushes him down and also pushes Demyx up to the top, because Roxas and Xion contributed significantly more to the Organization's misdeeds than Demyx ever did.

My memory is fuzzy — what did OXIII actually do? All I remember is "collect hearts" and "be giant dicks to each other and SRK".

Trouble Cube continues to be a general-purpose forum for those who desire such a thing.

Turned people and things into Heartless.

Spied on people. Violation of privacy.

Breaking and entering.

The first six sorta destroyed Radiant Garden that one time.

Updated the chapter finally.

EDIT: I'm gonna push Monstro for Sora and Kairi back to post-Larxene and just drop their Atlantica entirely.

Next up is Halloween Town, R/R Neverland, R/R Repliku 1, Larxene 1 and R/R Traverse Town.

Oh, I meant their original selves not their Nobodies. Unless you meant their original selves then both the canon characters and the OC's are going to do some spring cleaning.
