Well, yeah, isn't that the point? TROS reunited the warring factions that disagreed about how good TLJ was. Everyone thinks it's shit.

In JJ's defense, I thought Fringe stuck the landing pretty well.

Plus bringing the original trailer voice guy would be effort and this movie is clearly minimal effort all the way through.

I was also expecting them to bring back Epic Voice Guy Sr and he and Junior find they agree.

Justice League - The Snyder cut. That’s right.

Actually it’s an April Fools joke, a holiday no one seems to be in any mood to celebrate.

Mega Man Zero - Brutally hard platforming on the go.

Just watched their Mulan video and I feel they portrayed the film too negative. Especially when it came to "Be a man!" This is not just a training montage. It is the Disney training montage. And it is not just about Mulan suddenly becoming strong, but her getting confidence and using her intelligence to get the arrow, while other, stronger men failed.

Dan Murrell, one of the Screenjunkies / Honest Trailer writers/Host, has gone solo and started his own channel/patreon

He goes over why he left, no drama involved. His big thing is discussing box office numbers, and he wants to do more video essays, which isn't really Screenjunkie's thing.

Honest Trailers: Tiger King

Between this and Pitch Meetings covering Tiger King, my life is totally full. I finished watching it with my wife the other day and Jesus H. Christ there is so much more than these 5-6 minute videos can even begin to cover. The show is like a parody of real life that is all the more appalling for being completely real.

Mostly real? There's been a lot of stuff coming to light about how the show has been... creatively edited, let's say. Picky about what it chose to cover and omit.

Not that it makes the people involved any less insane.

In their defense, they only had but so many episodes, and while Joe's an idiot, he's not so stupid that he'd reveal the worst shit he's done.

Even so, that only means that the show isn't telling us all the horrible things, not that it is lying about what it does tell us.

Not really an excuse. Some if it is stuff he was filmed doing (Killing a flock of Emus he said he'd take care of). Other is stuff they straight up mention they've seen (Killing Horses for fun). And a lot is stuff they've cut coz it kinda removes any kind of sympathy/pity from Joe (the racist rants he goes on).

[up] I never said the show is lying. But the show is creatively editing to tell you a specific story. It wants to frame Joe as loveable, and not the worst ever, and footage is deliberately chosen to omit a lot of stuff about Joe, and make his claims against his detractor far worse. I shouldn't need to tell you that you can tell a false story without ever saying a lie by merely cherry picking what info you divulge.

I cringe on the part where the narrator points out the audience never learned the aesop about the documentary, which is Joe and the other exotic animals owners are horrible and are just keeping endangered animals for fame and profit and treat the animals like crap so the practice should stop but instead people love Joe and want him pardoned.

Like wtf, why are you defending him and want him free?! Joe is a bad person doing bad things to both people and animals and should serve his time in prison.

[up]True, but what sane person does not also want to see that Carole person in jail for killing her husband, grinding him up and feeding him to her tigers?

Allegedly. cool

Everyone in that industry needs to spend a long time in prison. Well, maybe not the folks who worked there; they aren't responsible for what happened. But the leaders, definitely.

Carole Baskin is a weird case, in many ways. She cages tigers and charges money to see them too, but in her case it's to keep them fed until they die naturally. Big Cat Rescue doesn't breed them, let people pet them, sell them, or kill them when they're too old to be useful, so in those respects it's an order of magnitude better than Joe and his kind. It doesn't mean she should get away with murdering her husband, if that can be proven beyond a reasonable doubt.

Tigers that have been raised by humans simply cannot be released back into the wild. It's too dangerous for them and for us.

The Honest Trailer for Tiger King was funny and all, but even that minute exposure to it really creeped me out. Those poor, poor animals.

The biggest flaw that has been discussed in Tiger King, aside from somehow managing to get fucking Joe Exotic to look sympathetic to some very weird people, is that it makes the show more about the crazy people involved than it does the animal abuse. I mean, that is mentioned — plenty of times even, but as a backdrop to the human drama.

I'll be totally honest: when I see someone petting a tiger cub, it is absolutely adorable and makes me squee uncontrollably. It takes an effort of will to remember the circumstances around the practice that make it abhorrent.

I'm a cat person. I recognize those behaviors. Big cats, though... they don't belong with people. The show needs more of that emphasis. I suppose that by focusing on the awfulness of the people involved, there's an unavoidable implication that it would be a less immoral thing to do if it were done by "decent" folks.
