Hello, world builders! Insano here! I'm busy trying to write my current project, but I couldn't ignore this little idea that sprouted in my head. A little bit of The Hunger Games, Game Of Thrones, Attack On Titan, Ba Sing Se, and even some elements of Warhammer 40000, and the doomed city-state of Corona was born!

I need some help filling in the blanks of this civilization. Read the rest for more info.

  • Time: For the universe: Mankind has colonized the stars. For Corona: About 400 years after formation.

  • The Troper Board On Multiversal Travel Classification:
    • Tech: Level 1, approaching 2.
    • Magic: Level 2 or 3 for most individuals, though some individuals bring it up to 4.
    • Hazard: Most of Corona is X, beyond the Rim is XXX+, and within the Hub is X+ with the presence of organized crime and political intrigue. Overall compared to the rest of the Legendarium's galactic environment the planet's hazard level is about XX+ or XXX.

  • Population: Over 6 billion total: About 5 billion people inside Corona and over 1 billion outside Corona, with the vast majority of those living in the Empire spread over the rest of the world.

  • Premise: On an Earth-like planet somewhere in the galaxy, the last large nation of mankind lives behind a massive wall, known as the Rim, that makes a protective circle around a massive city-state that is a thousand leagues wide. But doom is coming at this city-state from every direction. Snow and frost are creeping in from the north as Cultists of Diabolus attack with the power of Death. To the south, a conqueror who worships Imperius the God-Tyrant sets her sights on Corona as the desert sands eat away the south. To the west, tribes of Ruinous Cultists attack the western walls with their hordes of monsters as hostile nature climbs up the walls. From the east coast, monsters from the deep attack and the storms grow stronger as they batter the walls, and the tide is slowly rising. Even worse, there are rumors of strange creatures appearing from underground and attacking people before returning below-ground all across Corona, a sure sign that something dangerous and powerful also lies beneath Corona's surface... What will the major leaders of this city-state do to stop these terrors attacking from all sides? Well, nothing, of course. The last leader of the city has died and left no heir, and now it's time to squabble over who gets to sit on the Throne Panopticus while forces conspire to destroy the Rim from outside...and inside it.

  • History: Corona has existed for almost 400 years now, the last defense for mankind on its planet.

  • Setting: Most of the action occurs in Corona itself between the defenders of the Rim who fight the threats outside and discover the plots of the Cults and the houses that squabble inside as they determine the next Lord Oculus.
    • The Hub: The centermost area and the capital of Corona, a circular area about 30 miles wide.
    • Northern Quarter:
    • The Grim Wastes: The area beyond the Northern Quarter's section of the Rim. It is a cold, deadly tundra that no man dares to explore. The only inhabitants there are the subjects of whispered rumors, whose presences are unconfirmed: Cultists of Diabolus whose sole purpose is to spread death and decay across the world, and the undead bodies of men and beasts foolish enough to wander beyond the safety of the Rim. Recently, the cold seems to be spreading unnaturally southwards into Corona...
    • Southern Quarter:
    • The Dry Sea: The massive desert lying south of the Southern Quarter's section of the Rim. This wasteland gets its name from the winds that blow intensely on the dunes and make the sand seem to flow like water, with high and low tide. On the other side of the desert lies the only other civilization on the planet: an Empire that worships Imperius, with an Empress whose ambition is to conquer Corona for her master. Only those who know the desert's unique patterns can survive traveling through it, and the Empire has been studying the sands for centuries now, and the sand seems to be crawling north and striking the wall as waves break on the shores...
    • Western Quarter:
    • The Primal Wilds: The seemingly endless forest beyond the Western Quarter's section of the Rim. While Monsters attack Corona from all sides, the Primal Wilds are the most infested with Monsters, and particularly dangerous ones as well. Cultists of Ruin live in scattered warbands inside this endless forest and make the area even more dangerous with their power and malice. Only those that know the secrets of the Wilds can survive inside it, and the Ruinous Cultists have done so for centuries. For about a hundred years now, the forest of the Wilds has been growing unnaturally close to the Rim, and there are rumors of trees rooting themselves in the Wall and growing upwards...
    • Eastern Quarter:
    • Typhoon Coast: The only coastal border of Corona, the Typhoon Coast is the body of water that borders the entirety of the Eastern Quarter's section of the Rim. The greatest threats from this area are the massive aquatic Monsters that rise from beneath the surface to attack the wall in the North and the powerful storms that batter the wall in the South. But even more subtle and dangerous is the water level slowly rising beneath the Rim's reach. It has already sunk one district, what's to stop the rising tide from sinking the rest of Corona in time?

  • Politics: As with any large nation, the city-state of Corona is laden with a complex political structure and several major figures vying for power.
    • Corona is a federal constitutional republican monarchy. This means that the central government in the Hub has supremacy over the districts, the government abides by an amendable document that sets the standard for law and governance, the people and their representatives choose their leaders, and the position of national leader lies in the hands of a family and is passed down until there is no successor chosen or the family is ousted from office.
    • Corona is split into four Quarters, each named after a cardinal direction, which in turn are split unevenly into three Districts within the Quarter. Each District is led by a family known as a House, who leads the District the same way the Lord Oculus leads Corona. Out of the three Houses, one of them is elected by the people of the Quarter to the position of Clan every decade to represent their Quarter's interest before the Hub. The twelves Houses fight over the positions of Clan and Primarch, the family that leads Corona, every time the Lord Oculus dies.

Off the top of my head, I would like some help constructing the 12 Houses, Districts, past national history of Corona, and maybe the Constitution of Corona.

For the houses have them be merchants and owners of industry in the city. Have a military house that demands power for protecting the city.

I know, I know. But I'm a little busy and sleep-deprived to do that. I'm focusing on my main project, not this little side project that I thought was a cool idea. I was hoping fellow Tropers could propose their ideas/sheets for the Houses/Districts/other stuff, and I'd add these propositions with credit given to the contributing Tropers.

Basically, I don't want this thing to be my work alone. Corona and the planet it exists on are merely extensions of the larger universe of my work and an overall insignificant plot in the grand scheme of the main narrative. Hence I'm giving any world-builders here free reign to invent the characters and areas and other blank slates that I haven't filled in yet because I want to see what the other Tropers here can make of it.

So, just go ahead! Build on this planet and this city (But remember the details I've already laid out), and make up the characters that fight to save/control/destroy Corona! If you want me to provide formats or sheets for anything, just let me know and I'll make one for you to fill out.
