Hell is looking for a new champion (because the Devil is past his prime) so it's hosting a bizarre backwards Hunger Games style of competition. The people competing are there because they want to be and the competition isn't for the amusement of the masses; it's at their expense. The main goal is to gain as many points by killing as many people in a designated city as possible. So what sort of people would take part in this kind of event and how could the legions of Hell ensure that the competitors have enough people to kill within a certain city.

The time frame I have set is in the distant future when space travel is a common thing so the competitors can be as alien as possible.

I have to be honest, why bother involving the likes of aliens at all? Hell can be a pretty rich setting full of politics and rivalries and vendettas. If I were you, I would nix the aliens and keep the focus squarely on some of the "lesser" demons going for the top job like Beelzebub or Asmodeus or Moloch.

Although to answer your question probably really weak Eldritch Abominations, Fallen Angels, History's "Biggest Sinners".

As for who they would kill; its Hell! It's full of the souls of the damned! No one is going to miss them!

Theres sex and death and human grime in monochrome for one thin dime and at least the trains all run on time but they dont go anywhere.

Only part of the competition takes place in Hell and that's after enough people have been killed in the mortal realm to activate a Nether Machine and create a portal to Hell itself. Until then, the only way to gain points is to kill bystanders or each other.

How does killing random people benefit Hell? Do the competitors get more points for killing sinners, or saints?
