Markiplier

Surprised there isn't one of these already.

So, folks, what do we all think of Youtube's hottest-rising Let's Play star? Favorite moments? Theories on the secrets to his success? Depraved fantasies? :P

The guy's an American version of Pewdiepie. Not really much else to say in my opinion.

I....honestly don't see any correlation between the two, other than the fact that they both play horror games and are friends.

I like Markiplier best. He's entertaining and imformative. In my opinion, anyway.

One thing I've always liked about Mark is that he makes a HUGE deal about keeping in touch with his fandom. Seeing a montage of his "serious talk" vlogs at the end of a fangame literally brought him to tears which was a huge dawwww.

I don't think I've ever seen a guy who appreciates his fanbase as much as Mark does, and I think it's a major reason why he's grown so popular so quickly.

Meh. He's posted some great stuff in the past, but generally Mark tries my patience.

He's been imitating all of Pew Die Pie's worst traits (infantile gibbering, ALL CAPS TITLES!!, vanity) while bringing very little else to the table.

Yeah, sure, he does it for the art. Which is why he copied Pewd's channel to the letter. The title cards, the charity benefits, the dance videos (barf). Everything is the same!

That's what I meant when I said he was an American Pewdiepie.

Granted, he doesn't make rape jokes and he's not a douchebag who's only in it for the money, so that makes him infinetely better than Pewdiepie.

I've never seen Markiplier as being particularly vain. Any time he acts like it, it's usually in jest, as far as I can tell.

From what I've seen of either Markiplier or Pewdiepie, it's that they work best when they have someone else for their personalities to bounce off of. The videos with them doing multiplayer games are entertaining, but the single players ones are...not so much.

This is true, especially if that person is Cry / Chaotic Monki.

I feel like Markiplier's improving, though. I watched his latest scare compilation and it's a lot less Pewdiepie and a lot more humorous.

Necro to ask why Markiplier actually paid for ads on Youtube. (No, seriously, he now has ads in front of other videos; I just saw one in front of a Garry's Mod machinima.)

Probably for, you know, advertising his channel?

I like Markiplier from what I've seen of his Five Nights At Freddys let's plays and others. His style doesn't irritate me, I find his humor good, and I just love the energy he has when playing games.

Yes, he's one of the few very energetic Let's Play-ers that doesn't rub me the wrong way.

I haven't seen much of his own videos but I do enjoy his vids with Jack Septic Eye and Game Grumps.

Yeah I like Mark And Jack Septic Eye quite a bit myself, it's weird because I much prefer energetic Let's players than soft spoken ones (I find them boring honestly) yet a lot of people I talk to find them annoying. That being said most of the time neither Jack or Mark are ever demonized, if people don't like them they simply express dislike without claiming that they are bad people or better yet acknowledge that they are indeed decent and respectable.

He's wearing the same outfit as he did at a video game con. ..... was Jimmy Kimmel at that con too!?

It's hard for me to take gamers seriously with this shitstorm.

I don't agree with both sides. Gamers cause they're making a bigger deal then it should be and Kimmel cause it really is no different then watching sports.
