The Blade remains inert, showing no sign that the discarded shield is suddenly active, and heading straight for the back of Miki's head.

Miki hears the whistling in his ears... just too late.
"Oh, fu-" The shield slams into the back of his head, but the combination of his Puerum Magus resilience, healing abilities, and battle aura ensure that he isn't knocked out - just kncked down, severely bruised, and even more pissed off.
With a wordless roar, Miki rises to his feet and charges at the "inert" Infinity Blade, leaping at it and inverting his sword for an extremely powerful downwards thrust aimed squarely at its pommel.

Just as planned.
The Blade suddenly activates, and whips around, letting Miki slam into the building, and whips back, placing the blade on his neck. The shield begins spinning, ready to throw itself at his head again if he struggles.
One bad move, and the price is permanent death.
Then, the Blade releases Miki, removing itself from his neck. The shield goes silent, and vanishes in a flash of light.
Now, now you understand the power that is in this Blade. I admit I have underestimated you. I now believe it was the right decision to give you that power.

Miki relaxes his stance somewhat, panting, the battle aura slowly flowing away, most of the mana running back into his Soul Gem.
"You still... haven't told me... who the heck... you are..."
As adrenaline fades, the pain in his wounds comes back, and he stares with horror down at his more-than-halfway-corrupted Soul Gem.
Bloody Hell, how am I supposed to kill enough Wraiths on THAT?! Assuming I can even find any here!

I unfortunately cannot disclose any information regarding my identity. But I am proud to know that I chose a powerful wielder.
The ring returns to Miki's finger, Infinity Blade still attached, and activates the rejuvenation spell.
Suddenly, all of Miki's wounds heal, cuts scab over and disappear, and Miki's hair and nails suddenly grow explosively, as the ring speeds up his age, but the natural body process of healing speeds up as well. Soon, there are only faint scars left, though he does have rather long fingernails and facial hair that would make Gandalf proud.

Guess I'd rather have you as a friend than an enemy, Miki thought as he hefted the Infinity Blade.
Now, let's see if I can't find a way to clean my Soul Gem or get home. Preferably without having to use too much magic. This thing should definitely help there.
Miki strides off into the distance, the sun glinting off the Infinity Blade in his hand and the half-corrupted Soul Gem on his belly.
What the heck? Don't I get to troll anybody this time?
In another world, or perhaps just another dimension, a mysterious pair of arms draped in white cloth is folded.
And that's good night for me. Good fight! :D
But before I go, what was the "full" story behind this? I gather the Infinity Blade is from the same game as the Worker of Secrets, and I think he was using it in the fight against Mami - did he set this up?

As Miki disappears into the horizon, the Infinity Blade glows brightly, and the AI chatters away casually with Miki as they leave.
So, about those questions you were asking before...
Actually, I do have a little plan with the Infinity Blade and the AI. Yes, they do come from the same game (though the AI was a little something I threw in loosely based on another character), and they definitely are connected. A little clue: If you read the AI's responses more carefully, it starts to talk less like a robot, and more like a human...

I already realized there's more to it than just an AI controller. I'm assuming it's the Worker of Secrets until proven otherwise.

I will admit the AI was a little gimmick I threw in to spruce things up a bit, but now that it's escalated to a full-on character, I'm keeping it. Now that I have a plan for both it and the Infinity Blade, there is definitely a lot more to the AI, and the Worker's definitely involved with it.
