The Winter Soldier is slightly taken aback at how enthusiastic and unafraid Bea was about greeting a fully-armored alien warrior, then turns his attention back to Ryth. "I'm the Winter Soldier," he says to the armored man.

Ryth regards the sign of challenge with a slight nod of approval, thinking that this feeble excuse for a golem at least shows some form of honour. Perhaps his time was not wasted after all...

He, however, refuses bEa's offer to shake, though his own code of honour compels him to curtly bow to his new challengers.

   I could not care less about your identities or what you are doing here. I have not faced a worthy opponent in centuries, and I yearn for the glory of a duel for the fates.   

At that final sentence, the Blademaster holds up the hilt in his hand in a distinctive manner, and, with the press of a button, reveals its true function.

With a crackle and a distinctive hum, pure solar plasma bursts from the hilt's end, coalescing into a menacing dark-purple blade of energy pulled straight from the sun itself. He remains in this ominous pose for a moment, before falling into a battle stance, a offering for a glorious duel.

   Now, who will be the first to satisfy my hunger for glory in single combat?

The Winter Soldier brings out his rifle, but doesn't fire it yet.

bEa lowers her hand, slightly dejectedly, but shrugs it off.

"... Single combat, huh? Um....." She looks over at the massive robot thing with the sword. "He offered first, but I guess I'd be willing to try."

The machine is the first to answer his challenge, crossing several feet in a single bound and lashing out with a quick, simple slash aimed at Ryth's shoulder with its right-hand sword while the one on its left is kept idle but ready. If Ryth was expecting that his energy blade can cut through the physical blades of his foe's swords like all the others he's dealt with, he'd be sorely mistaken as the "steel" holds strong and fast against his lightsaber.

Ooooh, somebody get the popcorn! Something tells me that this is going to be juicy.

Ryth casually blocks the blow with his plasma sword, spraying sparks of solar energy all around, though the Blademaster is unfazed, if a bit taken aback at the machine's sudden, dishonourable attack.

   Perhaps I was mistaken about the "honour" you seemed to show, puny golem. You will now face the full MIGHT of the Aegis Forms!   

Ryth then breaks out into a swift, precise, and dangerously fast chain of attacks.

First, he makes three slow, but powerful chops at the machine's sides and head, respectively, before going to surprise the robot with a sneaky hard heel kick to the abdomen with superhuman force, and quickly follows up with four insanely fast slashes heading all around his opponent. He finishes his chain with what seems to be a powerful roundhouse kick, but feints and swings around for a reverse kick instead.

bEa's eyes widen as she observes the armored figure's amazing battle prowess, even letting out a low whistle as she watches.

Then she turns to the guy next to her.

"So, uh, mister Winter Soldier guy. I have a few questions I wanna ask you."

V defends against the barrage of attacks with masterful skill and inhuman speed, using both of his swords, the hard chops barely even causing the machine to flinch; but the sudden heel kick however seems to catch it by surprise only for the machine to perform a reversal the attempt by weaving to the side, just so that the kick ends up shooting in between his torso and left arm and then trying to trap said leg with a grapple, his left arm clamping down on Ryth's thigh like a vise before darting forwards and delivering a swift and ferocious rocket-assisted elbow strike with his right arm across the Alien swordsman's face just as he was about to lash out with his thrusts.

After watching as V and Ryth began their duel, the Winter Soldier turns to Bea. "What?" he says to the winged girl, wondering what she wanted to ask him about.

"One: Is that you real name?"

"Two: Are you absolutely certain that's really your name?"

"Three," she says, holding her hand out in front of her, then closing it around the handle of the enormous hammer that just materialized into her grasp. "Care for our own little duel while these guys duke it out?"

Ryth, though he is grappled (which greatly displeases him concerning the machine's skill in honorable swordsmanship), he lifts his other foot, bracing against his opponent's arm, and with the force of a superhuman being, throws himself from that vice-like grip, dodging his opponent's wild mechanically-aided strike.

He gracefully flows into a backflip, landing in a perfect squat, then using the potential strength in that pose to spring up into another flip, and swinging his solar blade down on the machine's head, all in less than a second.

He appears to end his chain there, only to swing up in a sneaky, inhumanly fast upwards blow through the torso.

He seems to stop there as well, yet an eyeblink later, he starts spinning from the momentum - in the opposite direction, that is, spinning forwards instead of backwards and throwing two downwards slashes in less than half a second.

"I'm afraid I can't answer your first two questions," the Winter Soldier says. "As to your third one, I suppose I could duel you." He then puts away his rifle and draws his combat knife, then takes up a fighting stance.

"Wait, so.... It's not your real name? Ha, I knew it!" Her mouth curls into a crooked smile as she's surrounded by an aura of flame. "Let's do this!"

bEa extends her hand as it glows with a red-hot energy, forming a large fireball and shooting it straight at the Winter Soldier.

Despite being violently staggered by Ryth's successful escape attempt, V was able to recover with unbelievable speed, where his foe's flipping cleave was quickly and safely dodged by the machine performing quick hop backwards and the sneaky upwards cleave was denied when V dances to the left before lashing out with both of his swords in a ferocious double-stab aimed at Ryth's center of mass.

The Winter Soldier sidesteps out of the fireball's path, then draws his pistol and attempts to shoot the hammer out of Bea's hand.

The shot is successful, and the hammer is sent flying out of her grasp. This doesn't impede her however, as in a few seconds the hammer is summoned back to her hand. In retaliation, bEa throws her weapon at the Winter Soldier, following it up with a couple smaller fireballs. Whether the hammer hits or not, it'll be summoned back to her hand afterwards.

The Winter Soldier blocks the oncoming hammer with his metal arm, then quickly dodges the fireballs, though one manages to singe his flesh-and-blood arm. He then runs at Bea and sends a kick at her side.

Though Ryth manages to easily knock aside his opponent's blades with his, he is knocked back briefly by the double-stab.

Recovering near instantly, he falls back again into his combat stance, hiding a faint smile behind his visor.

   Hmm... perhaps this golem is the worthy opponent I have been seeking...   

Leaving no pause nor lull in his form, he goes straight into his next chain.

He starts with three normal strikes to the sides and head, then crouching down slightly, charging up a powerful blow with his blade, then swinging up with full force.

The momentum sends him into the air briefly, which he uses to swing down again. If this is parried or blocked, he will be knocked back - only to swing a sneaky roundhouse kick into the side. If dodged or missed, he uses the momentum to spin around and hit again - from the side.

Then, he begins his final attack - he crouches down briefly, as if he is slashing again, only to spin around and - instead of a reverse roundhouse to the side like before, he thrusts straight out with a fast and powerful heel kick to the chest.

The moment his foot touches the ground after this, he thrusts out in a sneaky stab to the abdomen, so gracefully that the kick and stab are almost a single movement.

Finally, he twirls his sword and free arm confusingly, appearing to be taunting or showing off, but instead masking another low swipe to the shoulders.

This is the canon battle music. Enjoy.

hella yes

bEa attempts to dodge the kick, but his boot still manages to graze her side, causing a very painful friction and probably leaving a bruise. She hisses at the pain as her aura flares to a more orange shade. With a grunt, she leaps at the Winter Soldier and swings her hammer in his direction. If it misses, she'll direct her swing towards the ground, which will cause a small shockwave that'll hopefully knock him off balance.

At what Ryth said V scoffs before proceeding to parry the first three strikes and dodging the launcher slice before he does something rather unexpected: Instead of standing there blocking or dodging the slice as Ryth was expecting, V instead rockets upwards to intercept his foe with the aid of his, well... Rockets; the machine's left-hand sword parrying the slash away, blocks the follow up kick with his right arm; creating a rather dreadful-sounding "CLANG" as metal and metal met before he tries to launch a swift and ferocious stab aimed at the bottom of Ryth's jaw with his left-hand sword. Though because V had to reorient his sword after the parry, there was a small window of opportunity for Ryth to either dodge the killing blow or stop V from ending the fight here and now.

The Winter Soldier just barely avoids being smashed by the hammer, but the ensuing shockwave lifts him off his feet. After hitting the ground, he gets back up and charges Bea, then changes direction at the last second before slashing at her arm with his knife.

bEa lifts her hammer to block the attack, but is caught by surprise when he changes direction, as the knife makes a long, if not too deep, cut on her arm. bEa yells as her arm is wracked with pain, her aura flaring to a deeper orange. Holding her hammer in one hand, she step backwards, trying to put a bit of distance between her and the Winter Soldier. As she does so, a series of fireballs appear before her, floating around her in a circle. After taking a few steps, she stops, and sends them flying one by one in the Winter Soldier's direction.

Also exceeding the robot's expectations, Ryth allows himself to take the blow - his Deathless body and absurdly abnormal constitution allow him to take the hit without any major injury (though some sickening and rather humourous cracks are heard).

Half a second later, he reveals exactly why he got hit - he reels backwards, planting his free hand on the ground, and, without a single lull or reaction, exploits the short window, and swings his armoured legs at his opponent's head, armed with the force of its own strike, as he gracefully cartwheels (cart-kicks?) backwards and lands perfectly in his stance again.

Now, things get more dangerous.

Without giving the machine time to recover from the sudden escape and possible hit, he spins and launches himself into a perfect butterfly twist aimed at the robot's head, does another sneaky stab at any opening that arises, and then spins backwards again for a low and pretty damn wide swipe at the knees, kneeling low for extra range and coverage.

The Winter Soldier, surprised that the cut he had intended to be light had hurt Bea so badly, is only just able to dodge the fireballs before one of them scorches his organic arm, leaving him with a burn wound. He then sends an open palm strike at Bea's midsection.
