Ninten and Lucas reappear next to Ness, where the Masked Man also lands. Lucas glares at Ninten.

   "Idiot! If he hit my counter we'd both be dead!"   

"Then you'd be dead as well!"

   "I don't care, we'd have won and I'd have respawned away from him anyway!"   

"But we'd have to find you again!"

   "What makes you think I want to- huh? I heard someone."   

Ness looks around.

"I know that voice..."

The earth shatters as Sombra bursts back out and roars, realizing that Lucas has escaped him. He looks around, searching for Lucas. He does not even react to Black Mage's mighty yell, but you'd better believe he has taken note of it.

YYYYYEEEEEEEEEESS!!

"YES, YOU!''

Pointer finger outstretched so far to impress Phoenix Wright, Johnny shouts again to no one in particular.

Ness looks and a Sweat Drop rolls across his head.

"Now I remember...", Ness says.

Lucas looks.

   "Oh. Johnny."   , he says, surprisingly calm despite his outbursts from earlier.

"Hey, it's the cool guy from before!", Ninten happily says.

"Does he really think he can challenge and defeat that monster? It darkened the sky, that's more than a mere boss.", the Masked Man says, as cheery as ever.

Arachnos is here, he just doesn't post as fast as I do.

"SSTAAAND STIILL, LADDAAAEEEE!!"

A guitar riff starts playing from a phone laid on the ground, its owner gesturing to the notes, not even pretending he knows how to play them.

The four simply stare at him.

"What's he doing?"

"I think he's pretending to be a rock star or something?"

   "What? Rock star? How can a rock be a star?"   

"...We'll tell you later..."

"Out of my way," Sombra growls to Johnny.

As he was just about to start up singing, he stops as soon as he heard Sombra's words. Turning around to see, his expression is a mixture of joy, being a brony and all, and fright, being sensible and all.

"U-b-b-bu b-bu-bu b-b-b-bu," he mumbles incoherently and ad nauseum.

The phone's still playing music...

Lucas pushes Ninten aside.

   "Stop this nonsense and continue the fight!"   

He begins to glow and casts PK Flash to Sombra, trying to go for the kill.

PK Flash would likely not kill Sombra, being a high-level enemy and all, but at any rate the dark stallion has no intention of starting to "feel strange" again and relocates himself in a puff of black smoke before firing a wave of purple, boiling magic at Lucas. If he lets this engulf him, black crystals will start growing all over him, turning him into a crystalline statue of himself.

Johnny is promptly dismissed as an idiot and presumably a non-threat.

Lucas casts PK Shield around him but due to the nature of the enemy's attack, the shield gets crystalized, trapping Lucas inside.

"Ninten! Get Lucas out of here!"

The Masked Man, trying to protect Lucas, casts PK Love. (Not as strong as Lucas' but it does have positive emotions.)

He scoops up his phone and draws his sword, the Crystalline, and rushes towards Sombra, taking a slash at him with the radiant blade.

Does "radiant" imply that it's enchanted with some sort of holy magic, or just that it's very beautiful?

A little of both. It's really shiny, and after a while, it can unleash a special attack that is a huge, long-range slash made of light.

The King gets hit by both the sword and the PK Love, and recoils from the latter, hissing in pain. Nevertheless, he starts galloping towards the trapped Lucas. The four boys may note that this is the first time throughout the whole fight that the King seems to be somewhat less than inexorable - there is a sense of urgency about his movements, indicating that he is trying to end the battle as fast as possible.

"Don't you dare get any closer!", Ness says, having regained his usual courage. He fires PK Rockin' while Ninten casts PK Darkness to try and blind Sombra.

PK Darkness is a real move by the way.

Seeing Sombra run towards Lucas and the others, he takes a Laser out of his bag and fires it at Sombra. Unlike other "traditional" laser guns, it doesn't emit a sound, so he shouldn't see, well, hear it coming.

All of the attacks successfully hit the King, but the Darkness seems to have no effect - maybe he is too powerful, or maybe his own control over darkness allows him to somehow see without using his eyes. At any rate, despite being slowed down, he still manages to get close enough to Lucas to execute his plan. His horn glows purple as Lucas' black prison rises into the air. Unless they can interrupt Sombra's concentration now, he will use his manipulation of crystals to make the cage collapse on itself - crushing Lucas inside.

Ninten, still very close to where Lucas was and thus close to where Sombra is, casts Brainshock. If Sombra wanted to evade he'd have to let Lucas go.

In case it fails the Masked Man casts PK Love from close range.

Johnny prepares his blade, then rushes towards Sombra, taking three swipes at him in rapid succession, the third strike being much stronger than the other two.

The black prison falls to the ground as Sombra erects black slabs of stone around himself for protection against the attacks, especially the PK Love which he does not want to get hit by again. This might be a good chance to free Lucas.

Ness tries to free him but the prison explodes as Lucas uses PK Love to break free on his own. He looks exhausted.

   "I-is that all... you've got..."   

Standing before the black slabs erected by Sombra, he takes out the Meteor Shower, setting the magnitude to the lowest possible, and aims upward, shooting several flaming meteors over the slabs.

Before those meteors can land, the slabs crack and shatter on their own, sending sharp shards at the enemies. Of course, Sombra is now again vulnerable to attack. He has, however, picked up on the weakness in Lucas' voice. He tramples towards Lucas again, raising his greatsword overhead in hope of finally scoring a fatal blow.

Lucas grins and casts PK Counter.

   "Come on and take me down! I'm taking you with me!"   

The Masked Man looks at Lucas and back at Sombra.

"I don't think so!"

The Masked Man raises his sword and flies at Sombra, attempting to block the king's sword with his own.

Since it's a sword of energy it's possible for this to happen. And the Masked Man, being a chimera, has enough power to hold off a sword that big.
