We can get tired of what others fling at us, like when people throw "Spik" or "Wetback" at me sometimes, but I try to not let such things rile me up.

It's best to stop such debates and have fun. We are all friends here, are we not?

Mudkipz should not have to feel like shit because others can't hold in an arguement, they're just a normal person.

If you're looking for single target Mag damage, Aura Cannon will probably do more than Razor Gale.

Aura Cannon usually does better than Rising Phoenix but worse than Razor Gale. Presumably because Razor Gale is learned at a much higher level.

Feeling like crap now. That mess I caused last night plus the worry of the upcoming interview and my overall feeling like I am worthless (which I feel almost all the time) has made me feel more terrible than usual.

OOC: Rising Phoenix has a magic power is 42, Kamehameha Aura Cannon is 68, and Razor Gail is 78. Also, elemental advantages as I am sure you know.

Story, Orion: Hmm, yeah, for some reason, I thought Aura Cannon's was higher. Also, I guess the reason that Meteor Strike keeps up is that its power is 180. There's one last Mag tech to learn and it's a single target attack that will hit the damage cap, since you have 70 Mag. It's also not learned through level, meaning it can be acquired sooner than it really should, but also means that one could just wander forever without finding it.

You learn that move at level 70.

Okay, so it technically can happen, but it's kinda like natural Ultima, Flare, Meteor, etc. in that one has to go so excessively far beyond the normal level for completing the game that most people won't run into it.

Final Fantasy 6: Ok, next stop: The desert west of Maranda, because I apparently need to kill a whole bunch of those catapult thingies or whatever they were called.

Cactuar. That's what they're called. They look like a running cactus man. Celes's attacks miss entirely, and all of Sabin's blitzes only do 1 damage. So it took 3 to kill. And I got 10k gil from it. Really weird.

Talked to the weird guy in Maranda again, and now he tells me what they are.

Apparently there's a huge cactuar out there with treasure.

Fought a Slagworm, which looks like a Zone Eater. It took 2 9999 razor gales to kill.

There's nothing here but Slagworms. I haven't even seen any more of the little cactuars yet.

This is getting ridiculous.

Just realized that the guy said he'd bet his right eye on it, and he has an eyepatch over his left eye.

Ok, I give up. There's just nothing here but slagworms.

Next stop the collosseum. While looking up how to get the growth egg, I heard that you can get another one by wagering the tinntinnbaum in the colloseum.

Sabin naturally wipes the floor with Dark Force. Growth egg acquired!

I really wish there was a list of the items you can wager and get in the collosseum. Because without knowing specifically what to try, I always just get Typhon. Oh well, the second egg will definitely come in handy.

Next stop: The Veldt, because I want to see what happens when you have Gau by himself in your party.

Oh, it just says "Can't leap!"

Well that was a disappointment.

Time to visit Aged Man again. I visited him with Gau before and nothing happened, but that was pre cataclysm, and now that Sabin realized he might be his father, I figure something might happen now.

Aged Man said something about a bear.

Time to see what happens in the Veldt if everyone but Gau is KO'ed.

It's amazingly difficult to kill off Sabin and Celes, even on purpose, and even using powerful magic.

And of course, as soon as I do, I run into a Behemoth King who kills everyone and can't be run from.

Looks like Celes poisoning everyone is the way to go here.

Why can't I use a sleeping bag to revive Gau? I'm in the overworld!

All that effort, and I just get "Can't Leap!" again.

Ok, time to grind for a while on the Veldt to teach everyone phoenix spells. Since Reraise takes 100 AP, this is going to take forever.

3xTronberries. Haven't seen any of them since that one monster in a box. At least they give out 5AP.

It's a really good thing I can fast forward most of this in the emulator. I just have to do the blitz inputs manually.

And Sabin finally learned Reraise. After the break it'll be Celes's turn, and then Terra. Not sure if I'm going to bother teaching it to Edgar.

No AP is not split.

The cactaurs, they are a rare encounter, but worth it. They give a shit ton of gold, and 10AP plus if you kill ten of them, you get a special prize.

I think that Sabin is actually very likely to hit level 70 by the time I finish. It's not that hard.

Probably not, we seem to be stuck in the nebulous year timeline.

Speaking of that if it is the premiere I hope it deals less with Twilight freaking out about being an aunt and more an insight into Shining Armor's doubts about being a father.

Their stupid fee-to-pay mobile games already do that to them, yet no one is zapping their phones with the Element of Magic, as fucking hilarious that would have been.

Final Fantasy 6: Not counting time spent equipping an unequipping espers, teaching Terra reraise took 25 minutes of in game time and 11 minutes of real world time. Thank god for fast forward. Incidently, 6 points from the end I ran into a cactuar. That must have been on the order of 150 fights in the veldt before I found one.

Training Celes took 31 in game minutes and 13-14 real minutes. This time I ran in to two Behemoth Kings, which take forever to fight, plus a Trex and a Tronberries, which also take a while. I also had to use tents twice near the end and there was one fight where they managed to zombify Sabin, which slowed things down a bit.

It's definitely a very tiring process. I'm glad it's over now.

Next stop: That mysterious blue thing south of Nikeah surrounded by mountains.

This is the Cultist's Tower. Apparently Strago is now a cultist. Eh, noone cared about him anyway.

You can only use magic inside, so you won't make it wihtout strong magic? No worries there I guess.

I have 718k useless gil, so I decided to donate 100k to one of the rogues here. He told me about a great treasure in a castle buried under the deserts of Figaro. And the Narshe weapons shop guy wants to see me.

Ok, so magic only means no Blitzes. Darn. Well my magic is pretty strong too

Ok, like 4 spells in and I still can't kill that stupid thing. I'm not really sure what's going on, but Celes is busy bringing Sabin back to life.

The enemies screen just says Level 20 magic.

It appears to be reflecting all my magic back at me. No wonder the stupid thing won't die and I keep nearly dieing.

Sabin Cura's for 4978 by the way. Must be due to his high magic stat.

Celes Cura's for ~4800 now. So guess there's not much of a difference after all.

Sabin casts Reflect on Celes.

Followed by Thundergaga. Finally killed that stupid thing. It's a good thing I paided attention in Adventurer School. At least to certain things.

Sabin's magic stat is 91 btw. Celes's is 39.

Gave Sabin the sprint shoes and Celes the reflect ring so I don't have to go throuhg that nonsense again.

I chose Celes over Sabin, because I suspect his shield would block some spells instead of reflecting.

No I am not getting any XP. Guess I can swap the growth egg for the golden hairpin then.

Ok, this is weird. The magic urn enemies use healign items on you, and casting spells heals them. Plus one ran away.

I ran in turn. Not like I'm getting any xp here anyway.

Just how many sets of stairs are there here? This is like that video clip I saw of FF 7 where they run up the stairs for 5 minutes straight.

Celes gets the Genji shield.

Nonreflected spells seem to do a lot more damage. Good thing this dragon doesn't have reflection.

Oh crap, the reflected holies are healing this thing!

Luckily I'm damaging it way faster. Sabin's Thunderagas do over 9000 damage a pop.

Next time: Will these stupid stairs ever end?

Final Fantasy 6 is one of my favorite games of all time, but man, seeing everyone else in this thread dropping all this in depth knowledge about everything in the game for Story is making me feel like a total scrub here. It's also making me really want to go back and replay it.

@Sunset: Given your general demeanor, its probably best if you stay away from kids. You'd probably be considered a corrupting influence.

Yes, but those mobile games did not try to invade an alternative reality. Last time I checked, phones cannot turn into demons either.

Anyway, if you guys think that Shining Armor is going to have a hard time, then just think about what Cadence is going to have to go through. The "joys" of childbirth are a miserable, nine month long process, my friends. They are the times that try ponies' souls.

One hopes for a heartwarming and amusing episode devoted to it.
