So, on the Good things about the movie.... Sunset Phoenix looked freaking awesome. Except maybe the strip of paint across her eyes, that was a little odd.

Existence Weighed Against Nonbeing
Finally got around to watching the movie. It was good, but not great. The climax was awesome and I really liked how they handled alt!Twilight as a foil to both pony!Twilight and Sunset, but the antagonists left something to be desired (aside from Midnight Sparkle at least). Principal Cinch was kinda bland, and the Shadowbolts had some potential, but they didn't do enough.

Yeh, better then the original, pretty good, not as good as Rainbow Rocks. Great stuff for Sci-Twi and Sunset, villains are just boring and flat.

But yeah, great development for Sci-Twi and Sunset. The villains were very forgettable. The climax was pretty cool, too.

Sunset has to teach Sci-Twi about friendship, and gets a crush on her, so keep inventing all these Equestrian customs and traditions about being friends, like nuzzling and kissing being like a hand shake cause, you know, no hands, and just little things to get closer to her.

If it wasn't for the show's habit of using villains once then never again (barring Trixie and Gilda), I could see them turning up later. Would give them a chance at having a personality develop.
To give them credit though, they still had more of a personality than Flash has (or at this rate, ever will)
So how long until Pony Twi lets Sci-Twi know that isn't true (yet again, Pony Twi might be a secret shipper)?

In unrelated pony news, I heard the pony version of Titanium before hearing the actual song, and now whenever I heard it on the radio I always mishear it as "I am Octavia" instead of "I am Titanium".
It really does sound like Octavia to me.

I felt like Rainbow Rocks didn't get interesting until the contest actually started, and at the time I wasn't sure how much of that had to do with the writing, and how much had to do with me just not being interested in the EG world. Honestly, I found Friendship Games to be almost totally boring throughout, and I'm still not sure if that's just because I don't care about the setting, and what the writers would have to do to make me interested.

Rollerskating on a dirt track? I don't think you can do that. And motocross? Really? And how do you fail to notice the portals to another dimension opening up in front of you for so long?
Favorite new character? Sour Sweet. She is just so much fun.
Are we going to get a fourth film? Because I think I've had enough Equestria girls. I'm much more interested in seeing a time loop episode, thought I'm not holding my breath for one.
