@Danny: It would probably be easier to just catch up to the episode. 
It's mainly that she's one of the few nice characters in a part of the setting that's filled with jerks.
Her design, attitude, being a woobie who ends up saving the day and doing the right thing while telling a utter bitch to get bent. Yeah she's just so damn cute and awesome.

Not really, the only ponies that were really an utter jerk were a few random background one shots that were more grumpy, and Suri. Most of the rest were fine, maybe a bit harsh in one case, but not really jerkish.
