@Ace I do kind of default to calling any close positive relationship friendship, unless explicitly stated otherwise. Also I hadn't listened to the new one. Though I suppose either way the closeness is now one sided, she doesn't remember their friendship. Though it being romantic is probably better, I mean it's hard enough to rekindle a friendship from childhood without people messing with your memories. But allo people fall in love all the time
Okay a lot of things that are my squicks in this one like lobotomy and the like, also to much like a real institution hard to explain Well yes I do agree on that point, but am at the same time a mite suspicious of people who bring it up when people are of the same gender. Also people sometimes get crushes at 10, I never did but I also didn't get them at 16 or now.

Big Sister
Ah more five headed dragons. I'm cool with that. Though I was expecting an episode on Cecil's sister and was a bit dissapointed that's not what the episode was about.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.It was a lot more light hearted than the previous episode.
It's all right. No, seriously, wear headphones(as instructed) and the entire show is only on the right side.
They sure are good at getting minor celebrities to star in their show.
The people they get as guest stars are pretty much all the kind of people who were fans first and may well have come to them asking if they could collab. And Felicia Day is Wil Wheaton's friend, and I think Wheaton and Mara Wilson are friends, so there are channels of introduction there too.
They also have a close relationship with the folks at Thrilling Adventure Hour, and I know Day had a relationship with them and I think Wheaton appeared from time to time too. I don't know enough about TAH to say if they had relationships with their big name people before those people were big names or if they came after TAH got big.
Fresh-eyed movie blogWell, Hal Lublin was a TAH regular before he started playing Steve Carlsberg, so it seems fair to think that there's some sort of crossover simply because they do the same kind work/performance.
I'm pretty sure Hal Lublin is the voice of Steve, but I'm too lazy to check right now.
Hey, is anyone keeping up with Within the Wires still? They're almost too the end now.
Here's episode 1 of The Orbiting Human Circus of the Air
This one seems a lot more whimsical than the other shows. Except until it gets to the cannibalism and horror dolls.
Welp, the latest Nightvale episode sure was depressing.
Damn. It's really easy to loathe Dana now.
Not really, considering that one, she was the one that had a murder plot against her for reasons out of her control, and two, she is not responsible for the Nightvale judicial system, such as it is, and did not desire this outcome.
I kinda think deciding "Oh, let the dragon army annihilate my town, I can play hardball" and her simpering "I'm YOU" negotiation claptrap really, really soured me on her. She definitely bears enough responsibility for what happened with Violet.
Particularly when it seemed to be little else but pride at a certain point.
Needing something to listen to on my walks I figured I'd give this a shot. Seeing as it's a rather extensive a work, I figured I'd ask first if there: Are any things I should know when it comes to listening order, spin-offs, etc. or can I just carelessly start from the first podcast and slowly work myself up to being current?

Start with the first podcast, they are in order there are different podcasts by the same people, they aren't spin offs per se but you can avoid "Alice Isn't Dead", "Within The Wires", and "Orbiting Human Circus In The Air" until you are done all of "Nightvale" if you would like.

Yeah, best way is to just go with Nightvale one by one.
I started with what was the current episode at the time, but there is heavy continuity between episodes. I thought the joke of "There Is No Part 1: Part 2" was more extensive than it was, because it was the first time I was sure there were allusions to things that had happened previously, but I thought all those allusions were to things that happened in the nonexistent part 1.
Fresh-eyed movie blogThank you for the advice. Listened to the first one today and it was cute. Easily interesting enough to me to listen more, anyway. Hopefully it'll get smart once they build on it.
I'm now kind of concerned about Kareem. And also wondering what a Nightvale map of the United States looks like.
Seems like the survival rates for the interns has gone up since Dana and Maureen came back.
Also, I'm now really excited for the one hundredth episode! They're going to have every voice actor for the show come on!

That's the second time since I started listening to this local indie station that the Weather has been a song that's already come and gone on the radio.
Fresh-eyed movie blogA wedding for the 100th episode how splendid
I was really hoping for a non-romantic link this time. Exploring other kinds of love.
Especially since they only knew each other before they were 10.
