Finally Brazil is top first at SOMETHING!
Such pride my country brings me!
Inter arma enim silent legesMost of Africa won't have reliable numbers and neither will South or Central Asia, the Middle East defiantly wont and neither will China.
Plus there's categorisation differentials, I bet a lot of countries file a number of deaths as war casualties rather than homicides.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranWell, large, violent gangs are sometimes called "urban terrorists". For a good reason. Speaking of Latin America, look what have they done to this cosy town.
It is sometimes an appropriate response to reality to go insane. Most definitions of terrorism include some form of intent to terrorize a population, usually for political reasons. Some of the larger more brutal drug gangs could qualify.
I think there’s a global conspiracy to see who can get the most clicks on the worst liesOmar Khadr, once the youngest detainee at Guantanamo Bay, has been released from a Canadian jail.
I have disagreed with her a lot, but comparing her to republicans and propagandists of dictatorships is really low. - An idiotI wholly agree with this which is why I tried to make those words stand out. The "homicide" dealing. But either way it is still a pretty systematic thing that shows a lot more that is pretty much ignored at large.
I mean, compare with for example Haiti. Top deaths in there would be...natural disasters. It does not mean it would be a nice, safe place to live in.
It has always been the prerogative of children and half-wits to point out that the emperor has no clothesThe deputy leader of ISIS, who was probably in charge of the organization given the self proclaimed Caliph's possible/probable incapacitation, has been killed in an coalition airstrike. This is all according to Baghdad, the Pentagon hasn't said anything yet.

Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Still waiting on them to confirm al Douri's death.
Yeah, they got really quiet on that one after the initial claim. You would think Baghdad would be all over the credit for killing Saddam's last major deputy. I'm under the assumption that it was a mistaken identity and they don't want to admit it.
Politics is the skilled use of blunt objects.Indeed.
Which would also mean, if al Baghdadi is dead and so is his deputy, al Douri might actually be in the running for leadership....
From Nobody to Nightmare To Even Larger Nightmare indeed....
'till he gets blown up too :)
Looks like we should be prepared for a possible disappointment regarding Baghdadi's being incapacitated or dead. The Pentagon and Iraqi government have different opinions on this. Dude's a Schrödinger's terrorist ...

Thats sad when the US has to play referee on War on Terror sensationalism.
British teen girls who joined ISIS are now ‘running’ from the militants
From Al-Arabiya: http://english.alarabiya.net/en/perspective/2015/05/13/British-teen-girls-who-joined-ISIS-are-now-running-from-the-militants.html
Shamima Begum, Amira Abase and Kadiza Sultana, all aged 16, flew to Turkey together in February before crossing the border into war-torn Syria.
I hope they are found safe, they may be idiots for running off but they're still just kids realy.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranIt's like Pinocchio's Pleasure Island.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. Also, I'd bet good money they were groomed. IS and its affiliates have enough command of social media to do that.
What's precedent ever done for us?X4
HAHAHA!
Idiots, they better be thankful to the RNG Gods
A terrorist group that oppresses women is ACTUALLY a Terrorist group that oppresses women?
Well, color me surprised.
The world is inherently chaotic no amount of religion, conspiracy or wishful thinking will change that, accept it, and move on.Yeah the irony is funny right up until the moment you realise that there are three terrified 16 year olds being hunted across a desert by a terrorist organisation.
I find it hard to enjoy irony when it involves children being hurt.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranIt is very likely that the first thing ISIS did when they got there was make them kill someone so I wouldn't count on these girls to be that innocent.
And that is based on....?
Typical terrorist and gang initiations.
I'm gonna go ahead and say that child soldiers forced to kill someone under threat of execution by terrorists still count as innocents.
Plus if they ran it's actually likely that they ran specifically because they were going to be made to do something like that and didn't want to.

They were groomed as wives, not soldiers. You don't teach your teenage rape-slaves to handle guns.
Well, OK, not your female teenage rape-slaves. Ye gods, death-cults are a hell of a thing.

Hmm. Might be hard to link it to the subject of the topic but I wil ltry. I mean, to me it is clearly linked but it might be hard for others to grasp it so? If I step out of line, please let me know.
Anyways Igarapé Institute, an NGO from Brazil that monitors numbers of homicides among the world. It notes this...rather alarming bit of news.
With just 8% of World Population, Latin America and the Caribbean host 33% of the amount of homicides in 219 countries which were analyzed. The sources of information are the police institutions, safety institutions, and other local institutions of each country analyzed.
Top 20 countries with most homicides include 16 Latin American countries.
Brasil ES EL NUMERO UNO HUEHUEHUE in absolute homicide numbers, however. In this top 20 list we find Honduras, Venezuela, Virgin Islands (See? No sex makes you violent), Belice, Jamaica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, and Dominican Republic.
"Why is this terrorism, Aszur?" You might ask "These are not masked men, or turbaned maniacs screaming ALLAHU AKBAR or threathening real countries anyways". "Well" I will say, pondering as I shift in my silken robes and blow some bubbles in my pipe "Cuz them drug stuffs' fucked all shit up to hell maybe it's time y'all realize these people do terror tactics to intimidate the uneducated, impoverished population of many of these countries into subservience, service, or silence". I blow a few other bubbles from my pipe, and proceed to rise, briskly going to the adjoining room to attend to the lustful approaches of my harem of beautiful women.
I lock the door behind me. You are not invited, specially because of that hurtful comment about "not real countries".
