I'm pretty sure that except for a few characters, most people couldn't tell you who played who in TLK. It doesn't have very many big names when you look at it.
Looking for some stories? If I had to guess, probably the only name that people would probably pick out as someone who was in The Lion King is Nathan Lane, and that's only assuming that they're familiar with Nathan Lane already and thus can pick out his voice (and it's a very easy to pick out voice—when it comes to voice acting, he's like Gilbert Gottfried except not quite as annoying).
Oh, and maybe Rowan Atkinson if they've seen anything else with him in it that isn't Mr Bean.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Because Rowan Atkinson, James Earl Jones, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, Jeremy Irons, Cheech Marin, Whoopi Goldberg, and Jim Cummings clearly aren't big names at all!

Most of them are arguably big names, but they're also arguably not people whose voices are very distinctive in the roles they play in the movie. (EDIT: I should clarify, most people would probably more associate the voices with their characters rather than their actors in this case.) And who even cares about Jonathan Taylor Thomas anymore? Hell, stoners and fans of the '70s/'80s aside, who even cares about Cheech anymore?
Hell, Jim Cummings is only a big name if you're an animation fan, and even then, he wasn't even in much of the movie—he only dubbed in lines that Jeremy Irons was unable to complete due to problems with his voice. You'd never even know he was in the movie if you don't pay extremely close attention, as his impression of Irons' voice is spot-on there.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Oh, and as for Rowan Atkinson, unless you're British or a fan of British comedy, in all likelihood the average person will not know what his voice sounds like. The average non-British viewer at most probably has exposure to him as Mr. Bean, where he speaks almost never, and, when he does speak, he speaks with a caricature of a voice rather than his actual voice.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Can we please have a video posted in here without a huge capslock filled post about how "OH MY GOD DOUG GOT THIS OBSCURE FACT WRONG"? Is that too much to ask? Hakuna your tatas people, seriously.
These are video logs and are meant to be spontaneous reactions anyway. Do you want them to script out everything they're going to say and double check to make sure their facts are all accurate? For a review, I get that expectation. Not for a video log.

Honestly, there's not that many people in this thread who do that, thankfully. The people who do, though, yeah, it'd be best to not freak out at every minor thing. I'm sure you make mistakes too, and I'm sure you don't appreciate it if someone completely goes off on you for something minor like that.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Was Tim Curry really in Foodfight? <<
No, that was Jeff Bennett
Eh, whether or not it was, I could believe Tim Curry being in it. He's in a lot of less-than-quality stuff, and half the time I'm pretty sure he just relishes the occasion to be as hammy as possible.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here....um...... Jim Cummings voiced Ed the hyena.
Also, this time it wasn't that DOUG got a fact wrong. JASON got a fact wrong! .... and said all the characters in The Lion King were uninteresting.

Did he? I didn't know that, I thought all he did on the movie was cover for Irons.
And you're still making a big deal out of nothing, so...yeah.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here. So?
Of course, don't you know anything about ALCHEMY?!- Twin clones of Ivan the GreatAt that point in 1995-1996, all these people were very popular in America. Mr. Bean was still playing on TV, Black Adder was considered one of the best British comedies that became a cult hit stateside and it led the Atkinson landing some rolls in American productions like Rat Race, Scooby-Doo, and the 2 Mr. Bean movies. You may call Jonathan Taylor Thomas a memory today, but by the time he was cast as Young Simba he was already fresh off the heels of Home Improvement and he also starred in Born To Be Wild and Tom Sawyer. James Earl Jones was known from the Star Wars trilogy and Coming To America. Whoopi Goldberg was from very good comedies of that time like Jumping Jack Flash and even cameo'd in various TV shows and other movies. Cheech Marin played Tito in Oliver And Company only a few years prior to this film. Before 1995, Jeremy Irons was in Kafka, The Timekeeper, and did narration for a theme ride at EPCOT.
The Lion King had a cast of popular celebrities for that time.

I still wouldn't expect your average person today to be aware of all that.
Looking for some stories? Not unless you were aware/old enough to notice the actors in The Lion King in 1995.
Even if you were, it wasn't exactly flaunting its voice cast.
Looking for some stories?Um.
Yes it was.
It was in all the posters. Plus, adults would surely recognize the voices and would tell their kids who they were if they asked.
First, I'd like to know what posters you saw, because the majority of them don't have any names. Second, little kids aren't going to care who did the voices. Third, is this really worth getting so pissy about?

Looking for some stories? Why are people even arguing about this?
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.I think kyun just wants to argue about something.
Looking for some stories? But these Disney films are supposed to be for all ages, not just kids. Even as a kid, I recognized more than half of the cast!
This is why people can never debate anything these days, because people just make excuses like 'you're just looking for something to argue about', or 'you don't understand my side'! Excuses are the worst invention mankind has ever made.

When you nitpick and shout about every little detail that you think is wrong, no matter how insignificant, it starts to seem that you like arguing. Some things are worth debating, but I think one person's unscripted opinion in a vlog isn't.

Looking for some stories?Tell that to Doug.
I'm out.
Continue never knowing how another person views something. It's not like this is a thread where human beings with opinions share their opinions about the topic of the thread.
