Good luck and take care.
Hopefully for him, things won't bother him.
Me, not so much.

If I don't get caught in the crossfire. I'm keeping an eye if there's going to be a strict security update there.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"I'm already going to apply for a Turkish e-visa prior to entering Ankara online. I should enter the country by the 26th of this month, assuming that the security situation hasn't escalated.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Is the situation really *that* bad that you need to move out?
For Glorious Sociopathy! Peace Through Firepower! My Halo/ Foz crossover fic http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7082058/1/Spartan_of_ZeroDepends. I've heard several governments (e.g. Malaysia) that they'll going to get their nationals evacuated if the protests don't calm down.
Otherwise, wait and see. So far, protests are still going and AFAIK, Gezi Park is still close.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Heading to Turkey tomorrow via Singapore, but I don't know if I'll see any protests.

"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Just arrived in Istanbul. Lot of Turkish flags flying about.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"A new Turkish law to crack down easiers on protests.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"They're taking "measures", hey?
In another note, apparently there's a new party, called Gezi Party.
Passed by Taksim Square. No protests, but just civilians and a police van with uniformed officers inside and the siren turned on.
I'm not surprised if it's done to deter any protest attempts today.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Lot of protests in Ankara on Republic Day with clashes with riot police and opposition protestors.
None are in Istanbul due to heavy police presence.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"Just got back from Turkey. No protests in Istanbul, but I got reports of protests in Ankara from the local press.
"Exit muna si Polgas. Ang kailangan dito ay si Dobermaxx!"So, in Istanbul there are no protests due to heavy reinforcement in terms of police and other authorites that might repress and the action started in Ankara when there wasn't as much reinforcement. Anything happening in the other cities?

There were protests in other cities, but most of the action was in Ankara. Yeah, not much in Istanbul due to heavy riot police presence.
My dad kind of played down the protests since the only thing he got bothered was a lot of people turned out to celebrate Republic Day in Istanbul and made traffic very bad from the airport to the hotel.

Erdogan's basically in a shit storm, it looks, for basically trying to undermine the hyper conservative elements of his support system, and it's going pretty south. Like "ordering corruption investigations arrest no one, and replacing 10 members of his cabinet" south.
Many were increasingly of the opinion that they'd all made a big mistake in coming down from the trees in the first place. - Douglas AdamsGülenists are no more conservative than Erdoğan, but they are organized and it seems like Erdoğan doesn't want another man with an organization running things in his country, he wants to be the one man.
I propose we rename the thread to Turkish politics so discussions stay on topic.

Thans for bringing it all back on topic. Seems we arent in danger of running out of Turkish protest movements to discuss anytime soon.

Letting you peeps know that my old man is getting visas in Manila to go to Ankara despite the protests. Mine is easier since I'm a dual national, but I'm keeping an eye out on the security situation in cases the protests still keep going.
