Crowners showing phantom votes

Ever since crowners were restored to working while attached to threads, they've been showing phantom votes. That is, when you open a crowner attached to the thread, options you have never voted on may show the darkened boarder that indicates that you have voted on an issue. I use the term "phantom" because the system does actually know that you haven't voted on the issues—you can click on the highlighted option and it will register your vote correctly.

It's not a huge issue because, as far as I can tell, voting is still technically working properly. However, it does make it difficult to tell which options you have actually voted on and which ones you haven't. Being able to see which options you haven't voted on is particularly important for some of the Long-Term Projects threads (Real Life, Trivia, YMMV), as their crowners are long-running and have new options added throughout their life.

That is because apparently the countermeasures taken against the DDoS have broken the IP identification systems of this site, including the one that controls crowner votes.

Eddie may have a fix for this in progress, but votes made before the fix will probably continue to be "corrupted".

Voting in and of itself is working correctly, as far as I can tell. That's not what I was talking about. This thread is about what seems to be a display problem.

It doesn't seem to allow double-voting... at least, the display still claims it knows "you have already voted this way" so hopefully it doesn't count double-votes.

Out of curiosity, is this message "Sorry, no new conversations can be created until 8:04 Pacific Time" also affected by the IP tool bug?
