By this point I'm not surprised people want to raise the fire until it consumes it all. Everything's so corrupt, dirty and plainly egregious that destroying it and making something new seems the best solution.

I don't know enough about Erin Pizzey to really say anything about her, but I can confirm that C.H. Sommers has repeatedly proven herself full of shit.

While I understand people's concerns, I doubt that moot is turning into the next Tatsuya Ishida.

This whole thing is essentially the climax of /v/'s conflict with "feminism", which also ties into 4chan's rather unique status of being a counter-counter-culture site (for better and worse). I feel that something like this was probably bound to happen in some form.

Banning the discussion entirely was probably not the best possible action though, since now there are many people who will try very, very hard to make sure that the topic never leaves. As if it wasn't omnipresent enough.

I spend most of my time on /a/ anyways, which has had it's own share of problems, what with the recent Nyaapocalypse. I just want to talk about my chinese cartoons in peace, like others who just want to talk about vidya.

Maybe. There's been a bunch of really awful-sounding conspiracy theories involving moot, but I'm still not quite sure if they're all real of if people are just saying what GG wants to hear.

well moot goes missing and aperenly there are a bunch of pro-SJW baning things and censored verything GG related, so is clear they are going to lose their mind about it

I heard they were just enforcing some "no personal information about others" rule and they're shutting down any gamergate speak wholesale because those people can't go two minutes without something about Quin or Sarkeesian or someone else.

Ignoring some of the bias, I found this to be an interesting post on the matter.

I can't imagine "Founder of 4chan" looks good on a resume.

If I wanted to create a big internet thing I'd want to hire a guy who already created a big internet thing.

I'd imagine it'd be a pretty big PR nightmare partnering with the dude with the reputation of creating the Wretched Hive of the internet.

@Zenn: Just because she's wrong on one issue(that I find it questionable if she's wrong about) doesn't mean she's wrong by default, and someone already postied an article backing up the things she said about gaming with sources.

@Except "dickbags not taking internet harassment seriously" isn't a gendered issue, I'm a man and I was told to suck it up when I got offended at someone mocking my father's death. For that matter look at how many people on ED are MALE and getting shit from them they don't deserve(Linkara, Jew Wario, Doug Walker, Spoony). If we're going to deal with it, we need to NOT make a gendered issue of "men against women" when it's "assholes against everyone else"

Oh no, not Encyclopedia Dramatica. Surely an article on a parody website that you can go your whole life not going to is just as bad as being threatened out of your home, spammed with child pornography, having your every word questioned by faceless hordes and having bomb threats sent to places that have you as a guest. If not worse than all that.

This entire thing just makes 4chan sound incredibly whiny to be blunt.

Except many of E Ds targets HAVE received harassment and E Doits(at least used to) regularly troll people into doing stupid shit for "more lulz". Let's not forget how many self-proclaimed feminists(including Anita) have doxxed people. That also doesn't address what I said about harassment not being a gendered issue.

A Tumblr user I'm not naming for fear of starting shitstorm 2.0 conspired to have have someone's husband deported, and actually went through with making the call and getting him investigated.

In fact, would you to see a Reddit thread where someone posted a picture of their(male) friend and every other comment is complaining his hair looks a bit greasy, and one person even told him to get a hair-cut?

4chan has many facets, but you can be sure of one thing: they may do some questionable things, but Even Evil Has Standards apply to them, and if they see something truly messed up and wrong they will do something about it. 4chan is Chaotic Neutral most of the time, though.

Except Tak posted several threads where people encouraging harassment we're being told off. 4Chan is honestly no worse than this place at it's most vile and unrestrained.
