The Purge (2013)

I mean, it's not actually a retcon. It was established that the rich white people who were murdering during the purge were what is heavily implied to be white racists carrying out (no pun intended) The Purge. The black veteran is not doing it.

The Purge isn't a time of general mayhem and crime, it's very explictly white supremacist Kill the Poor day. It's just covered up by the legality of other crimes.

The First Purge even points out this is a cover when the cameras are all following Skeletor because he's the only Scary Black Man the New Founding Fathers can find to suit their needs.

I don't think the purge is purely racial. Remember, the third movie had a black girl as an antagonist. As for whether everyone would kill each other; obviously, not everyone would. But some would. Some people are just inherently violent, and would jump at the chance to act on their impulses without consequence. Especially when you consider that, by the time we get to Election Year, the Purge has been going on for twenty years. There's an entire generation of people having grown up where that sort of thing is considered normal.

You honestly think that if they could, white supremacists wouldn't go around murdering minorities as much as they could?

Are you addressing me? Because I never said that. I just said that there's more going on in the Purge movies than racists killing minorities.

Is more they expect people to just murder each other instead of just general vandalism and looting, so they use people to push other into killing each other, not surprising it use white supremacist because they are bloodthirsty enough to do it(and stupid enough to not get the fact they are being play by big money).

I think that is by far the most realistic and topical element of the Purge. I also think it's what makes it [strike]believable[/strike] authentic.
