Episode 3: Hikki showing off the skills he's learned through solitude. I especially liked his " creeping out others via self-deprecation" tactic; I can vouch for its effectiveness.
I guess the car accident will be brought up again later on. The usual course of this plot thread is that it'll be the fault of someone Hikki knows, so it'll probably be Yukinon or Yui or Zaimokuza. Most likely Yui though, she's the sort of person who'd be involved in something like that.
Princess Curls Light Perm is still mean, but at least Hayato is genuinely nice. (Yukinon could also learn from him)
Interesting that Yukinon's weakness is low stamina. Fitting for someone with her approach to life.

Hayato being genuinely nice can be up for debate.
I did naht.True. Still, right now, there's no reason to believe he's faking it.
I guess, but I'm still wary of him. It's a bit too perfect IMO
I did naht.Hikki, is that you?
I just read LN discussion and have to say it's first time I ever see people compare protagonist of romance oriented show to Batman. Also I wouldn't think it would make perfect sense.

Oh, you were there too?

New episode's up. That was... strangely heartwarming. I'm really starting to like Hikki as a protagonist. Despite his artificially inflated sense of self-importance*, he's both honest and insightful.
I really hope Yuki gets to define herself like that too. Yui just annoys me, though.
Why does Hikki look so different in the LNs?◊ He actually looks bishonen-ish there.

I did naht. He's drawn with regularly sized pupils.
Also the art does suffer from the low budget too, but then it'd probably never quite be that light novel watercolour style.
As for the episode... Imouto character was clichéd.
But the protagonist's reactions continue to be something else entirely.
I am liking the social commentary which was continued this episode. It also made me laugh.
This anime deserves a slightly higher budget.

"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Let's hope it pulls of a Haganai.
I did naht.Finaly Shizuka revealed her love for shonen genre! I were afraid they will omit it completely
I find character design extremly atractive (except Hikki himself), low budgets seems to be balanced by poor animation instrsf. In case of Hachiman I think his appearence is stylistic choice to match him with his twisted personality.

What's wrong with that? Haganai's first season was fairly low budget, but due to it's popularity, it got a higher budget second season.
Silver-chan's the personal favorite now, not including 8-man.
I did naht.Oh that...
Anyway that Hayato is quite interesting person, I would realy like see him in situation when he would forced take on side in conflict instead his "Let's all ge allong nicely" attitude. I don't think I ever saw that kind of hypocrisy yet (and that's have quite potencial)

I kind of liked all side characters in the last episode. In particular Ebina and Yumiko. Hikki wasn't bad, though. Violent teacher was, though.
And nothing really happened. At all.
Check out my fanfiction!Haganai had a higher budget second season? I would have never guessed.
I could have been just looking at lower quality versions though.
MMORPGs are serious business.Violent teacher, while pointless and annoying, was forgiven for making a Scryed reference.
I really love Hayama as a foil to Hikki. His sincere friendliness is refreshing in a show like this. And seeing Yumiko when she's not pissed off was nice too.
I'm personally hoping that the teacher will be involved in whatever major plotlines occur, and her presence in the beginning is mostly to establish that she is, in fact, supposed to be there.
It's probably just for comedy, though. The suffering Hikki goes through seems to be more of the pure comedic variety than any drama/comedy genre mixing, since pretty much everyone around him (Barring the teacher) seems cool with the fact that he hates himself.
Fire, air, water, earth...legend has it that when these four elements are gathered, they will form the fifth element...boron.I have a feeling that car accident's gonna be really important. :l
It's one of the reasons he's not fitting in. Maybe they'll introduce the person who did it? Assuming it's a student...?
Yep, Haganai did. Seriously, just look at the art for both seasons.

I did naht.I don't think Haganai's art was ever this bad though, and didn't use this many still pans.
That said, the art isn't terrible, it could just use some prettying up around the edges and nicer shading.
"Nullius addictus iurare in verba magistri, quo me cumque rapit tempestas, deferor hospes."Not that it was bad, but the detail was really lowered to save on costs.
I did naht.@ Jigaboo If you look closely at the relevant scene the person who was walking the dog looks a lot like Yuigahama.
Episode 4: Enjoyed it!
- I guess you can't have a LN rom com without a ditzy imouto.
- The teacher got to show her shonen geek side!
- Dat fujoshi, and the nicer side of Light Perm.
- Saika's trap levels are rising. Wanna see what happens with Saika, Hayato and Hikigaya. They probably aren't gonna show it though.
- Hikigaya's inner monologue-slash-social-commentary was at full blast this episode. So many interesting observations... I support this concept of Hikipedia.
- Yuigahama has someone in mind? No points for guessing who it is. Yukinon
Does anyone else feel that this show hits a little close to home? Not in the gut punching kind of way like Not Popular, but still.
Aside from that, I'm really liking Hikki's character. He feels really organic. Deep within all those layers of cynicism is the occasional spark of idealism for a great and vibrant youth life, which he probably sealed off because of all his previous failures.
And Jesus, Hayato is seriously nice.
I hope the show gets to exploring Yukino's character soon. It feels like we're only scraping the surface.

Yep, I never said Hikki is reasonable himself, did I?
