Yeah uhh, I think I'll just not bother with this week's five thousands...
This is gonna sound weird, but the kuva survival was easier than the Mercury one. Then again, a) I had a full team, b) the kuva collectors gave you a little life support.
I think a full team on Mercury would've been a lot less hectic.
The new Melee is useful but if you want to go full melee (like for Excal's Ult) it will require unlearning a lot of muscle memory.
Note, using Weapons fire when using Exalted Melee weapons gets you out of it without cancelling the exalted weapon.

Welp, it seems the Vandal Opticor isn't really that good.
It doesn't feel like a straight upgrade from the regular Opticor.
From what I was told, it is a sidegrade whose emphasis is on firing speed.
You can get a slightly higher DPS, but probs at the cost of ammo efficiency.
Yeah, it's apparently closer to the Ferrox than the normal Opticor - fast charging speed, okay damage.

Well charge rate and procs seem best about the vandal variant. Crit values are... ehhh.
only 4% more crit chance and +0.1x multiplier? lol
I can see myself using it for lots of gas procs vs corpus but that's about it.
For a gun like the opticor having higher ROF at the expense of damage, doesn't sound like something you'd want.
Mastery fodder be it will.
New challenges are out. Nothing particularly difficult, but the "complete five sorties" one is something you need to get on fast, or you'll run out of sorties.
So something hilarious happened in my favor.
I was doing a Sortie, and one of the missions for it is Extermination. So I go do that in public because my stuff isn't strong enough to do that on my own.
And when it finished, it gave me the challenge for doing a level 30 or higher Exterminate by myself and not get detected...
Same thing happened to me.
Not sure what the hell happened there.
Same. I wasn't quite on the front lines, but I'm sure I got detected at least once. I assume it was a glitch (possibly one that's been around for years and no one noticed) where only the host or the first person to encounter an enemy is counted as "detected."
I think it might have to do with alarms. I tried it once, my MOA somehow set an alarm off, I didn't get the achievement. I tried it again with Shade, then it dropped.
So! I finally built an Opticor! What mods and such does it take to make this thing able to one-shot anything?
The usual (Serration, Split Chamber, 90% elementals). Also, crit mods and Heavy Caliber. The accuracy penalty from HC is basically non-existent on the Opticor. As for the 8th mod, I just run a fire rate mod (either Speed Trigger or Vile Acceleration) because charge time is sloooooow.
With Hildryn out, Perrin syndicate procs are actually useful now.
Also made a 100% status, 100% crit Prisma Grinlok for shits and giggles with an 8.4 crit multiplier. Not all that useful, really.
Well, Hildryn is out to buy, but no one can build her yet. Apparently her parts drop from the Exploiter Orb, who we can't fight until the community finishes Operation: Buried Debts. They estimated it would take a week, and that was on 3/8.
I've seen plenty of people playing as her, of course. That annoys me more than it should.
Just got a message from Nora that the Wolf is on Jupiter, with a message: DELIVER GHARN.
Gharn being the warden of the prison where he was locked down.
So if you're wolf hunting, your hunt may have narrowed to one planet.
Anyone gotten his hammer? Is he worth the grind?
I know you can throw his hammer like it's a glaive, which led to this video where someone uses Ivara to throw it across the Orb Vallis to kill an enemy nearly 3km away.
aaaand suddenly I want it.
I still haven't seen the Wolf even once. Just did a half dozen missions on Jupiter, and nothing.
Doing the daily, no wolf. Ran into some fugitives, and the Stalker. That went badly.
Met the wolf again. He got stuck behind a pillar while my operator pelted him to death. It was very anticlimactic.
Also he didn't drop anything. No hammer parts, anyway.
Exploiter Orb is out. She's a much more fun fight than Profit-Taker, feels like you're doing something besides just constantly dying. The only bad part right now is that there doesn't seem to be a way to auto-find a group, you have to do it through group chat. Makes it more annoying than it needs to be.
