It just seems too expensive for its effect, though of course it can get some really busted results like Alexstrasza so it couldn"'t be cheaper.

I find it weird that they've gone from deathrattle rogue to battlecry rogue.

Revenge of the Wild - Rare Hunter Spell; 2 mana; Summon your Beasts that died this turn.

Amani War Bear - Common Neutral Minion; 7 mana 5/7; Rush, Taunt.

Ah, the good ol' Amani War Bear. That's bringing back memories.

Likkim - Rare Shaman Weapon (it's a toad); 2 mana 1/3; Has +2 Attack while you have Overloaded Mana Crystals.

Maybe the Toad Spirit/Loa will be about overloading yourself. Thought it was weird when they said it would be about spells since Zentimo is also about spells and they like to have the class legendaries do different things, but Zentimo has anti-synergy with overload (though he could also be useful for cards that care about the specific number of overloaded crystals rather than just whether or not you're overloaded).

Shamans have flirted with Overload as a core deck-building mechanic for years; the problem is that there's always been insufficient synergy... except when there wasn't and Overload Aggro Shaman had to be nerfed. It could be a viable concept if we didn't already have two other viable Shaman builds: Even and Shudderwock.

Seriously, fuck Shudderwock with a rusty iron spork.

It's been stated that the Spirit and the other Legendary will encourage two different types of decks for all classes; see Warlock (Handbuff Zoo with Hi'rek and Discolock with Jeklik).

Yes, that's kind of exactly what I said.

Funny thing about Shudderwock. If you get it in your Priest deck via some sort of copying, and you had previously played Shadowreaper Anduin during the game, Shudderwock will destroy itself. Just in case you thought you could beat the Shaman with it somehow.

Masked Contender seems like it'll be a must include for any Secret-heavy deck.

Thekal feels like the kind of card that you want to combo with big healing abilities to activate other Paladin cards. Blizzard has never printed a card that interacts with the opponent's armor value, so I can't think of anything that would punish its use.

It's a Healadin enabler, put simply.

This thing will be nerfed in a month or two after people combo it with Molten Giant in Wild.

Meanwhile...

Walk the Plank - Rogue Common Spell; 4 mana; Destroy an undamaged minion.

• Rabble Bouncer - Common Neutral Minion; 7 mana 2/7; Taunt; Costs (1) less for each enemy minion.
• Soup Vendor - Rare Neutral Minion; 2 mana 1/4; Whenever you restore 3 or more Health to your hero, draw a card.

Rabble Bouncer sounds good on paper until you remember that aggro decks have ways to get through big taunts. Still, an interesting idea. I wonder how much synergy you could get by buffing it, or comboing it with cards like Cornered Sentry that give your opponent minions.

Soup Vendor seems like a variation of Northshire Cleric, but focused around heavy self-heal builds. I don't know what kind of deck it would see standard play in. There's some very slight synergy with the buffed Priest Hero Power from Justicar Trueheart, but that's really niche (aside from being Wild-only). It wouldn't work with Baku because it has an even mana cost.

  • The lack of a bracket on 3 is just sloppy, Blizzard.

Princess Talanji - Priest Legendary Minion; 8 mana 7/5; Battlecry: Summon all minions from your hand that didn't start in your deck.

You know, for the claim that the Champion and the Loa are going to be different enough to enable two different deck archetypes, it sure doesn't feel like it here, just like it didn't with Shirvallah and Tekhal. In fact, I struggle to find a non-Bwonsamdi deck for Talanji. Steal Priest, maybe, if that's even a thing.

Steal Priest can be a thing; it's just not reliable in the slightest. Rogue is much better at it, for one thing.
