Mashin Sentai Kiramager kirame silver revealed
My Anime crush is LegosiI knew Malshiina wasn't going to be the 6th. I like the prospects and hope this new Silver is better than Canalo as a Sixth Ranger. I am also disappointed that he is a silver because we are stuck on 6th rangers that are either Gold or Silver. Noel from Lu Pat was both and we didn't change the year after! Just shows that no matter how much Super Sentai wants to change itself for the better it can't fully commit, like a person on a diet with too many cheat days.
Seriously, Kiramai Silver looks like he's a Boukenger in the wrong show lol
I see it too. I have actually thought all the Kiramagers' visors look like past Sentai visors and off the top of my head Shigeru's looked like a Dekaranger and Sayo looked like GaoEagle. This silver guy from Chrystalia looks Red Cheetah from Dobutsu Sentai Go-Busters and with the spectacles giving a bit of Enter.
I'm disappointed its not Mabu but at the same time this guy looks cool and Kiramager's been strong so I can't complain.
Kira 09:
As occasionally happens in Sentai, some cultural references I don't get at all, but so be it.
A nice Sena focus episode though. Liked the alternate roll call delivery and Galza basically just going 'screw it, you can have this one'.
The ending song's also really grown on me.

So we've had cops, ninjas, knights, thieves, samurai, wizards, train workers, rescue workers and pirates.
What other motifs out there haven't been used?
Cowboys.
It would mean that every ranger has a gun. I don't know if that would be a good or bad thing.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.We already have multiple Sentai where everyone has a gun, though?
Heck LuPat has a gun as both teams' changer.
.
We've had spies too, or at least that's what Go-Busters is supposed to be in the beginning. I want to see them tackle spies again, but this time be consistent with it. Oh, we also have teachers (Fiveman) too, with the subject they are teaching becoming the symbol on their helmet. And adventurers (Boukenger).
.....Honestly it's really hard to think of what other human "job" can be used as a theme.

Though we did get an individual cowboy ranger.
Clearly we need to get niche. We've had construction vehicle mecha, so why not an entire team of builders? Architects whose robots all turn into buildings! Circus performers (actually you could probably do pretty well with that, though you may need another theme), fashion designers (they get new forms, but not new powers - they just got tired of the outfits), office workers (they have to defeat the monster on a tight schedule because they don't get many breaks)...
I have a feeling circus performers would ends up having animal theme as well, and we already have tons of that.

What about gods and heroes from various myths?
How could gods and heroes turn into a giant robot to battle monsters? Sentai abandoned the humanoid mecha thing in the 90s and now only do it for Red senshi. Animals would be good to try again with but they need to mix things up to prevent stagnation. And Fiveman's gimmick wasn't that they were teachers, after their school got blown up they teach in various scattershot places but have the career stability of the Zyurangers.

Who says they can't bring back humanoid mecha? And if they cant, they could use animals associated with certain gods and heroes. For example, a lion mecha for the Heracles sentai.
I just thought of another one; Super Sentai based on sports. Football, hockey, fencing, archery, baseball, boxing, gymnastics etc.

Sports is a good starting point but it fits better on characters than a sentai motif. Suits and costumes would look ridiculous. To be fair there was some of it in Goggle V and Dynaman but it hasn't been done since then due to various improvements made to Sentai. Would you want for example Sena from Kiramager to have a cool looking car mech or a pair of running legs or shoes mech?
considering the initial post
What other motifs out there haven't been used?
I think the intention for the talk is actually a theme on the rangers themselves instead of the mecha. In which case, sportsmen/sportswomen is actually a possible theme.
Dynaman kinda wants to do it iirc, their costume is based on baseball players I think? But then the idea is scrapped, yet the costume design remains.
Was there any particular reason Go Go V didn't have a sixth ranger?
My guesses was the name Kyu Kyu Sentai Go Go V and the sibling team aspect. Kyu Kyu was a Japanese pun on the rescue thing Kinkyu and the year of 1999 when the world was allegedly going to end while Go Go V was different ways of saying 5. Go Go V=555. Then there is the fact that GoGoV was an all sibling team similar to Chikyuu Sentai Fiveman who also didn't have a Sixth Ranger. If something happened in GoGoV that made them include a Sixth ranger like in Star Ninger's case, then the Family team aspect would be lessened. Also a sixth member would be awkward because it would be GoGoV Plus 1 other guy, and then the number gimmick is gone.
What's a good super sentai season to get started with? I'm looking for serious, heavily serialized, and action-packed.
Shinkenger.
Wake me up at your own risk.
Honestly I think being female is genuinely the biggest thing against her being the sixth.
Take Kyuranger; kid ranger, tech support ranger and comically out of shape mentor ranger, all in one series. And if you look through other series, there's more of all of those.
Also, Kiramentality doesn't really seem to depend on actual fighting talent. I guess a stuntman has some advantages in a real fight, and an athlete is more physically fit, but the other three are an artist, a gamer and a doctor.
I suppose she could be an 'extra' ranger, like the last few Kyoryugers, Kougama Skyblue, etc.
