Oh, I never noticed that! That's kind of creepy.
Not Three Laws compliant.... daaaamn.
Years of Starslip and Chainsaw suit made me forget how GOOD Kris is at horror.
And this is FANTASTIC.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.I know, right? :D And it has a very unique tone for either Psychological Horror or Cosmic Horror, too! There's so much Mood Whiplash going on, it's incredible.
Sorry - noticed what?
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableThe red tint.
Not Three Laws compliant.Oh! Yeah. I'm not sure whether I'd have noticed if I hadn't been reading the comments as well. But it is fairly noticeable in some scenes - especially Ouster Eve. The bats are only monstrous in the red-tinted panels, and the background colours keep jumping back and forth between green, red, and violet!
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableHuh.
There's that red tint again. But Angstrom seems to be reacting as well. Hmm...
...Well.
That's one of several possible twists, of which I didn't see any of them coming. o_O
Kris says in the comments "This is a very important strip." You don't say?! >_O
Also in the comments: "Bellwether (noun): A bellwether is any entity in a given arena that serves to create or influence trends or to presage future happenings. The term is derived from the Middle English bellewether and refers to the practice of placing a bell around the neck of a castrated ram (a wether) leading his flock of sheep. The movements of the flock could be noted by hearing the bell before the flock was in sight."
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeablethis comic is awesome and we should talk more about it.
I personally think the weirdness is a combination of craz- I mean disturbed people and a supernatural element that doesn't actually mean anyone harm.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.sssssssssssSShiiiiit that's really freaking creepy
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority. As I said before: Kris Straub is a Horror MASTER.
And I think we've found our arc symbol!
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.It is all over the site... now if only we could learn what it means...
Also the author has gone on record saying the story could be wrapped up with a 100-120 page count. He plans to have an ending there, but one that could be expanded upon if he so desired or fan response was large enough.
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority. So spread the word! Tell everyone you know about it, expand the fan community!
Personally, it would be kind of nice for one of the dozen webcomics I'm following to have an end. XD
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.I'm only okay if a comic comes to an end if I know the artist is doing something new.
Like when Friends With Boys ended, I was mad, but then she started working on a new comic. With robots.
Or starslip.
And I will be sure to spread the word.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.For me its all about a satisfying narrative. A story ends when a story ends, you know?
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority.I want this to be multiple related stories or something though. 0_0
The Revolution Will Not Be TropeableI would not be opposed to that at all. :3
Despite my screen-name, ranting to you about One Piece is not my top priority. He has plenty of material left over from Ichor Falls... theoretically, at least, if he feels up to it and thinks it's appropriate to Broodhollow's tone.
It's kind of funny - the one webcomic for which that happened for me, I was relieved that the author and artist moved on to another series and then I never bothered to keep up on it.
...I should really go back and do that at some point.
The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeablewhich one?
Also, I don't want our hero to die. Not yet, I hope we get some form of resolution first.
Go play Kentucky Route Zero. Now.A Miracle Of Science and Afterlife Blues.
I haven't actually checked, but Kris wrote his announcement of Broodhollow in the form of an open letter to Vanderbeam, referring to the comic in the past tense.

The Revolution Will Not Be Tropeable
Discuss.
Has anyone else reading this gone through a second or third time to see little things they missed, and check on which panels are red-tinted?
