Justice Avengers: Jump City at Dusk

The group heard the sound of a motorcycle pulling up backstage. Emerging from the bike came Wolverine.....wearing a bright yellow costume with black stripes with blue gloves, boots, and shoulder pads◊. On anyone else, this bright yellow ensemble would've been a fashion crime. But on the badass Canadian, it was a convenient indicator to everyone this man was a machine of pure, animal fury if messed with, as well as making him even more ferocious looking.

"Got my clown suit on," Wolverine said. "Let's get his circus over with," he said as he cracked his knuckles. He then looked over at Damien. "I was expecting your publicist to be older," he said to Flash. "Looks barely older than Star." Then the attendants came towards him -

"Don't even think about it," he told them, accompanied by a fierce Death Glare.

The attendants immediately backed off.

Damien patted Clint on the cheek, grinning.

"Ah, no you don't! You stay right there, lovely. Every hero in this town is gonna have Damien Darhke..." He paused, as if stopping himself from saying something incriminating. "Backing them up!" He finished, deciding that made sense. He then turned his attention back to The Flash, giving a thumbs up. "Great idea, Flasher. God knows these people've listened to me ramble enough today."

Majestic, meanwhile, was trying desperately to hold in a laugh as Wolverine approached.

Peter froze mid-step, before letting his foot down and groaning as he looked up into the sky. “Of course.”

He turned around, making a gun motion at Impulse and clicking his tongue to simulate a shot. “You’re persistent. I can respect that. Now what if, and this is just a suggestion, what if you went back to the other side of town and stayed there!” He capped the sentence off cheerily while he reached into his wallet and pulled out a tenfold. “Here. That’s like, three bags of peanuts. Easy. Or maybe teleport it to Taiwan, I hear exchange rates are pretty good there. The best part is that I’m positive plenty of the Taiwanese would love to go on an adventure with a superhero.”

"Oh." Betsy sighed with a fain grin of understanding, once again appearing to have not gotten another joke. When Jennifer mentioned introducing her to some of the lawyer's close friends and Matt, the brunette relaxed once more, taking another sip of her tea before setting her cup down. "I'd love that; thank you."

As the caravan of police cars and media vans drove past the small shop, Betsy glanced at Jennifer, immediately understanding where this might lead. "I understand," she replied to the lawyer, nodding. Whatever the reasoning was behind 'She-Hulk' seemingly going on a rampage somewhere, the brunette seemed oddly unfazed by it - though her smile did seem to dial back somewhat.

Carol

Carol was brought to the meeting thanks to her personal driver. She was among the audience, in the crowd from a place hawkeye and some of the other heroes could see her, while she waited to hear Damien's speech.

"No thanks. You're much more crash than a bag of peanuts." Impulse said, finishing his meal. "Besides, I ain't got much else to do. It's either this or go back to being with the others. And I'm just tired of them yelling at me. At least you're funny when you well at me." He grumbled. "They're all so... mode. You're not like them. You actually know how to have fun. You're the kind of person I wanted to meet when I came to this city!"

Starfire went with Wolverine to get her own costume and returned with him wearing her own 'costume' to the festivities. Starfire looked somewhat apprehensive at the press conference... After all, Mojo could be watching and she didn't want to possibly ruin things for her sister in Tamaran.

"Uh, I am an adult by—" Starfire answered when Wolverine commented on Damien's age, but caught herself before she said something too revealing in front of Damien.

Katana stood stoically as the vicious horde of make up people worked on her... at the end she felt a bit itchy and uncomfortable with the cream and powder on, but she had to admit her hair looked somewhat better. That was when the spandex wearing feral man appeared. Her heart skipped a beat as her thankfully powdered skin blushed.

Starfire noticed that Katana was there, and was aware that Logan had agreed to train her. She flew over to her, wanting to ask her something.

"After this whole thing, do you want to... err, hang the out?" Starfire asked Katana, still having trouble with English idioms though hopefully Katana understood what she meant. Starfire was going to be here for a while so she ought to try to make friends.

Star's voice made Tatsu snap out of her blushing oogling lull, shook her head slightly and looked up at the floating martian. This was supposedly a teammate of hers, yet she knew little of her, and vice-versa, and yet they wer supposed to work with each other. Since trust was needed for that she figured that being friends and 'hanging out' might be a good idea. She gave her a smile and shortly said "Sure, wouldn't mind"

"Sumire, you're a godsend." Jennifer told her, before promptly shoving her notepad and anything else she had with her on her bag, taking one last sip of tea, and heading out the door as fast as possible. Five minutes later, Betsy would get one last glimpse of a green blur jumping from street to street, following the cars.

"Heyo!" She-Hulk replied in the communicator. "She-Hulk here. How's it hanging? And what's with the police heading downtown?"

Majestic's heart leaped into his throat when he heard She-Hulk's voice, but he had to stay on task. First and foremost, he needed to make sure She-Hulk didn't bump into Red She-Hulk.

"Oh, uh...the police? D-don't worry. We took care of that problem." Anything to keep them from bumping into each other. "But Flash had some press conference set up for today. Apparently it's super important. How quick can you be in Town Square?" As he was talking to She-Hulk, Damien made his way over to Starfire and Wolverine, beaming brightly. He grabbed Starfire's hands and shook them, smiling.

"Oh, so glad you could be here, love!" He said, smiling. "The demos love you. The girls who want to be tough love you because you kick butt, the girly girls love you because you're a princess, the boys like you because you're pretty, and the moms love you because you're a great role model!" He turned to Wolverine, shaking his hand. "Ah, and here's Mr. Rough-And-Tumble himself! Love the costume by the way, that'll definitely get you over with the parents who don't want their kids worshiping some hairy, homeless psychopath." He quickly added "Their words, not mine. But look at ya now! Who could think you were dangerous?" He added again, "I mean that in the best way, love."

Red She-Hulk saw Wolverine, and just started laughing. Loudly. and Boisterously. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. What the hell is that?! You look like a schoolbus trying to be cool! That thing is ridiculous. And my SKIN is red."

Clint sighed. "Fine, I'll stay for the speech at least, but if any of you come at me with combs or any of those powderpuffs, and I'll be out of here faster than Flash over here can take a leak." He then looked over at Wolverine in his new costume, and with a smirk, pointed out the angry Canadian. "You definitely won't have me looking like... whatever that is."

Having flown to the Town Square, Majestic hadn't noticed Red She-Hulk was with the rest of the group. He gulped, realizing that he had probably just done the exact opposite of what he'd intended by telling She-Hulk to come here. 'Oh, I am become error.' He thought wearily. Damien had a very different reaction to Red She-Hulk, having been so absorbed in the rest of his work.

"And who are you, deary?" He asked cheerfully, walking up to her. He put a finger to his chin thoughtfully. "Now, don't take my head off for this, literally or otherwise," He started, then put his hands together, pointing both index fingers at her, "But if She-Hulk can't make it, how opposed are you to the idea of being painted green?"

"Apparently, I'm She-Hulk's red twin or something. And no. I hate the color green. And I don't think body paint likes me very much. I spent a weird summer in Rio."

Homeless?? Wolverine thought, almost legitimately taking offense to that adjective. Then he noticed Red Shulk and Clint trash talking the costume. "The yellow is to make sure the people I shank know I'm the last thing they see before they bleed out." A beat. "That, and it makes me a an easy target. Bad guys tend to shoot at people with bright, stand out colors, especially if they're on a berserker with foot long blades implanted in their wrists coming straight at them."

Clint scoffed at Wolverine. Sure, that's the reason. "I'd ask why you would want to be an easy target in the first place, but I'm going to just chalk up to all of you people being insane." He then looked over towards She-Hulk. "And what's she doing here? Weren't you guys fighting her like, twenty minutes ago? Do you Justice Avengers actually kiss and make-up that fast.?"

Nonexistential Knight and White claw quickly interposed themselves between Wolverine and Red She-Hulk (and Hawkeye.) This was definitely not the place to get another brawl going (even if they, too, almost giggled when they saw Logan in that costume. But then, given how little control they had over what they wore when they transform, who were they to do so?)

"We have- resolved the matter with the Red Lady peacefully. She isn't a team member, we are just escorting her. For now" White Claw explained to Hawkeye.

"It would be rather immature to loose your tempers in front of the public over something as silly as what you wear for one publicity shoot, wouldn't you say?" the Knight said to the other two, hoping to calm them.

Starfire smiled and nodded at Katana when Damien approached her praising her for being perfect for demos.

"Umm, thank you?" Starfire said to Damien confused as he shook her hand. She was not completely sure this wasn't one of Mojo's tricks.

"How quick I can be there? Oh, I can be there right now."

The ground shook a little as She-Hulk arrived on the town square with a final bound. Throwing her communicator back on her belt, she walked over to the group. "Sorry for taking so long, I was busy taking care of a few loose strands." She spotted Hawkeye, smiling. "New guy, huh? Pleasure to meet ya, hun. I'm She-Hulk. Although since you're a man in the eighteen to forty demographic, I'm gonna guess you already know m—"

She-Hulk was halfway through turning around to talk to Flash and the others when her eyes spotted a red clone of herself. "What. The. Heck." She blurted out, staring at Red She-Hulk with her jaw on the floor. "What the heck?" She asked the team, surprised. "WHAT THE HECK?!" She yelled out, pointing at Red She-Hulk.

Damien put himself between Red She-Hulk and She-Hulk, and Majestic wondered if the young man was suicidal.

"Not now!" He blurted as his people cautiously stepped towards She-Hulk to attempt to fix her hair and costume. "Please! I can't have you wrecking the town! It took so much work to set this all up. Just...five minutes, lovely, please! And then you can all go nuts!" Majestic made a move as well, putting a hand on She-Hulk's shoulder, putting himself between the two women as well.

"She-Hulk, we're as lost as you are. We're going to try to make sense of all of this later, but I really feel that we can do that without violence." He gave a glance back to Red She-Hulk that let her know that was for her, too. "And it's not like we're replacing you or anything. Who could replace you?" He asked, face quickly turning red as he thought about how he could have worded that better.

Nothing feels better than being reduced to nothing but a statistic. Clint wondered if that was how all the Justice Avengers saw 'Regular' people, and if She-Hulk was just more upfront about it. It didn't help that she didn't ask for his name before getting distracted by her counterpart. Clint's insecurities weren't all that important though, as it looked like the two lady Hulks were about to go at it. "Can people just hang on a second," Clint intervened, "before anything escalates, can someone please explain how Miss Red is related to Miss Green? Is everything this weird for you guys?"

Red She-Hulk glared at folded her arms at She-Hulk, who was pointing at her. "It isn't polite to point. Seriously, take a picture. It'll last longer. I don't appreciate everyone calling me some kind of sister or clone of yours, so why don't you buzz off?...I mean, I'm the prettier one, anyway."

"yes, mostly" Said Katana to the archer "as for them we can only assume they are linked somehow, as they have similar forms" She attempted to explain.
