It might also be Blast, since he was active as a Hero when Tatsumaki was still a kid. Probably not Garou, since he wasn't even close to strong enough to take on Boros even when Boros came to Earth, much less when the Seer prophisized there was someone out there who could give Boros a challenge.

By the way, what are we expecting from Blast, anyway?

Time-displaced future Saitama or alternate-Earth trapped Saitama.

Huh. I could maybe see that happening, but I dunno. Making him another King would be too repetitive, but I can't shake the feeling that he's going to be another subversion in some way.

Although, now that you mention it, Blast being another Saitama might lead to an arc reminiscent of (spoilers for Mob Psycho 100) Mob Psycho 100's final arc, where it's Mob vs Shigeo so that might be interesting, and plausible as something ONE would write.

Also, there's still Pig God's hidden power to be revealed, but I could totally see that not being quite awesome enough (assuming that Pig God's hidden power isn't Blast).

Yo!, I know the "Pig God's hidden power is Blast" theory is referring to Blast being inside Pig God in some way, but what if Blast IS Pig God, and he just got really fat?!

Speaking of which, I thought Mob was psychic Saitama. But I know, seemingly different universe and all.

Now, if that conversation between King and Saitama chapters ago is anything to come by, I believe ONE is going to do a similar kind of ending - maybe even more introspective and less, err... "physical" than Mob's final arc was.

Here I was thinking I was the only person here who thought it was going to end that way.

Though I don't know if that conversation was a Murata addition, or if ONE had written it for the original comic.

Murata's just the artist. He doesn't actually write any of the story additions for the remake.

Really?

We have a webcomic that's ongoing and a manga version that he's supervising? Why do it that way?

The webcomic advances the story further; the manga improves upon what was already done.

ONE does a sort of webcomic-style rough draft of the new stuff that Murata copies like he would with the bits that are in there.

At least Season 2 gave us more JAM Project. The title, Seijaku no Apostle, transltaes to Silent Apostle. Or Apostle of Silence, if you prefer.

Just finished watching episode 3. The Garou fights had more polish on them then the fights of the previous episode I'd say, but that might just be my brain playing tricks on me.

[up] It was just your mind playing tricks on you.

I got caught up. The season's still enjoyable but that's only because the source material is so damn good. The animation is beyond lazy at points. I seriously can't tell if some things are supposed to be a joke or if it's just them being lazy.

Okay, I shouldn't say lazy. Apparently, only the first three episodes were finished when the first episode aired because the higherups were money-grubbing asshats. While the studio is decidedly average based on their history, they're not entirely to blame here.

...I'm sorry, you must have heard wrong. That's impossible, no show is made on that kind of schedule, especially not a show that had this many delays between seasons.

I don't know if it's true or not, but this kind of horrible schedule is not that uncommon in anime, sorry to say.

Geez.

Watched the episode. There are moments that are quite well-animated. Short, fleeting moments. There are also parts of the episode that are extremely lazy, just with still images moving back and forth. Those last much longer.

I don't want to harp on this too much, but animation is one of the few things the anime can bring to the table that is unique to it. If you just want the story and writing, the webcomic came first. If you want gorgeous visuals and composition (and like twice as much story), the manga's out there. The anime contributes animation, music, voice acting, and color. The first season brought all of those in spades, but the second season's kind of dropping the ball on number 1, even if the rest is present and accounted for.

To be fair, I can't remember where I heard that and I have no idea how to find production info so take it with a grain of salt. Still, if memory serves, Dragon Ball Super was similarly rushed, especially in the beginning, so it's not implausible.

Yeah, and Dragon Ball Super's animation was infamously terrible in the beginning, to the point that people were still pointing and laughing at episode 5 even when the series had long since cleaned up its act and was on new arcs.

So, I decided to pick up the manga again. Started where S2 does since I don't remember exactly where I left off last time (somewhere in the tournament).

Wow, the art in S2 is a step down from the manga. I had forgotten that somehow.

Is it just me or is Saitama not nearly as expressive in S2 as in the manga?

There is short-list Boros’s prophecy may have referred to, including people not born yet. I just believe that Saitama is such an Outside-Context Problem that he’s also resistant to being prophecized.

Hah. That would make sense actually.

Considering how much narrative causality it would take for Saitama to not be known for his efforts, him somehow being invisible to prophecy wouldn't shock me.

Edit: Watched episode 3.

Genos in-universe suspected that the isolation Saitama suffers from is the true price of the power he gained.
