Also a reminder that the FBI say people should use Adblockers to protect themselves.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Videos on channels with below 100,000 subscribers have ads...
It's been like this for a while that creators can't control which videos have ads anymore.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.Is Youtube down for anyone else?
The Protomen enhanced my life. Not for me

Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Right after I asked that it's working fine now. XD
The Protomen enhanced my life.My sister was telling me what Youtube does to her three year old. Apparently it really encourages doomscrolling, just flipping through video after video, and it makes him really greedy for whatever is shown in those clips. And after just half an hour, he just can't cope with stopping watching Youtube, temper tantrums and all.
Yeah... we really need that social media ban for preteens.
Optimism is a duty.less bans and more like heavily regulated to be less addictive
Bumbleby is best ship. busy spending time on r/RWBY and r/anime. Unapologetic SocialistI would not give a three year old access to youtube. Shit, if I had my way teenagers wouldn't have access to youtube, but I know that would be impossible to enforce on my own kids, much less anyone else.
Still, I guess that proves youtube's whole "protect the kids" thing is even more shit than we already knew it was.
How in the heck is YouTube supposed to stop three-year-olds from watching videos? Face detection?
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Yeah... we really need that social media ban for preteens.
NGL that seems more like a parenting issue from your sister?
Also like, kids did the same with TV in the 80s, so not really seeing how the issue is youtube specific.
Also who lets a 3 year old just pick their own videos on youtube. That seems like a recipe for disaster.

Yeah this seems like a classic "I'm gonna blame something else for my shitty parenting" situation. Parents should be the ones monitoring their kids.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?Hey, don't be rude. My sister isn't letting him on Youtube exactly for that reason.
And it's those Tik Tok like shorts that you can just swipe down on all the time. I don't think you can turn that off.
Optimism is a duty.I mean you can just... not let him have the phone and control over it?
I'm really not seeing what the obstacle is here. My niece doesnt get to doom scroll shorts coz neither I nor my sister and brother in law let her? We pick what she gets to watch on the interwebs.

I do think that society could do more to teach parents of the dangers of letting their kids on You Tube and Social Media. We tell parents not to let their kids smoke, we tell them to make them wear helmets when biking, we tell them not to give them junk food all the time, we could tell them not to let them online.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranI mean we should tell parents to be wary of stuff online, if going by the spread of antivaxxer stuff, and the likes of Qanon shit.
Clearly it's not just a danger when you're 3.
Yeah parents should be careful and watch their kids when they’re online, but cutting them off doesn’t help. Especially as there’s lots of kids who don’t have any good places to meet up in their city where they can hang out with their friends.
Every accusation by the GOP is ALWAYS a confession.Cutting off a four year old shouldn't be much trouble though.
Optimism is a duty.Again, parenting issue. Not a youtube issue.
My niece is 4 years old, she knows if we say that's the last video, it's the last video.
Doesn't YouTube Kids have a timer built into the app for this very reason?
Granted my experience with YouTube Kids is limited to being annoyed that a video is marked as for kids for no reason, but it sounds like they're providing tools for parents to manage their kids' viewing. Their responsibility doesn't really extend beyond that.
Hey man, can you back off my sister for a bit? It wasn't that bad, and you're really reading way too much into it.
Optimism is a duty. Why assume the parents didn't fall into the same pit trap their kids did? For anyone concerned, older generations are just as vulnerable to on-line content as children are.
Specially when we are talking about boomers who constantly fall in digital scams or regurgitate whatever shows on their whatsapp/telegram/instagram/facebook feeds.
Digital illiteracy isn't a phenomenon that afflicts children the hardest, even generations like Millennials are falling into those issues because their "news" and content feeds are increasingly full of shit.
Inter arma enim silent legesBut the thing is, it doesn't happen with television or games. It's just Youtube that seems to be particularly triggering for kids.
Me and my sister are millennials. This is not an old people problem.

Optimism is a duty.Yeah it does.
Well, anecdotally, it doesn't.
Optimism is a duty.
Oh, that fucking sucks.
