I'm not quite sure what you're saying here, Strato. What I meant was that I intend on allowing people to sign up as more powerful heroes, and then pitting suitable villains against them.
Besides, Klarion was pretty damn high tier, considering he was an almighty demon sorcerer.

But then all the other heroes are going to do what? Won't that create some kind of segregation where a certain group of characters have to sit back and let this other group of characters deal with the big guns? Won't it be better to just let everyone become stronger, at which point every character would be able to face powerful villains, not just the powerful ones?
Yeah, but Klarion wasn't going toe-to-toe against people for a majority of his arc, and he was weakened- he needed to feed, remember?

I already know a good antagonist that we can start upping the ante with. You remember that idea I had involving orange from way back when.......?

DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!Ud: Oh, trust me, I remember him. But if he gets brought in...then I'd kind of like to have Slendid around, or at least have his permission for a thing.
Strato: Well, another option could be to have a threat that could be faced by a powerful character, a group effort, or both. Like maybe having Luthor launch this far-reaching stratagem against heroes, and sending Bizarro to battle the strongest members or...
...or...
...Strato, I'm having an idea here. What if...we had a spinoff comprised entirely of uber-powerful characters?
Sure, that sounds like a thing. But what would they do? Defenders of the Universe? You can have the uber-powerful characters be on the travelling through space universe, since the uber-powerful enemies are always space-related.
Also, just ask Slendid to at least pop up in the discussion thread, I'm sure he/she is still around TVT.
...We could have the more powerful characters do the whole "I am holding myself back so I don't hurt people accidentally" [JLA: cartoon Supes, Thor, etc), and trust the players to suppress their in-play?
Not quite a perfect solution, but I think in any situation with any team, there will be individuals who are better or worse at certain things, and I think that includes character power-levels.
Strato: My thought was that they could be pulled into a Secret Wars story, with the Beyonder putting them on a world where they won't risk to many lives with their mega-powers.
On the other hand, Defenders of the Universe has the possibility of the Justice Avengers RP...
IIINNN SPAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACE!
...that I've always dreamed.

1) Klarion as in...Klarion (bum bum bum) the Witch Boy?
2) "Superman and the Masters of the Universe" DOES have a nice ring to it...
My various fanfics.Sure, why not?
Sharknado: More or less, yeah. He had a drastically revised origin, which you can read here, and his short time here revolved around a plot directly inspired by Sins of Youth.
Ahh. I see.
I think I'll wind up writing two character sheets, one for Booster, one for the other guy. One of them might go to California, or might simply not exist. Can't decide.
My various fanfics.Twas a fun plot, and I just now noticed how interesting it was that Klarion messed with everyone's ages, making them change into what they're not... which is the same thing Klarion did, hiding behind the facade of an adult.
Cosmic Justice Avengers sounds like a blast.
Also, if it helps, Deadpool fought Hulk once and kind of sort of was winning...for a few seconds.
Yes, Lizzie, speed up things over on the hotel if you like
The graceless warrior, wielder of the edgeless blade, prophet of the old religions, writer of fluent nonsense, saviour of soul and song.Hm, I was also thinking, maybe, we could have like a Young Justice Avengers.
Just an idea I had roaming around in my head.
Could be possible. Though I don't think we need a spin off for that. We currently have the makings of an Avengers team and an X-Men team in New York.
By the way, Nick, an NPC has just phoned the New York Mutant Helpline.
Hmm...on the one hand, Booster Gold would work in a more "fun" game like West Coast...on the other hand, Booster Gold and Iron Man is too awesome a snark-off to pass up.
My various fanfics. On the other other hand, Booster Gold is sorta obliged to be the new Blue Beetle's partner due to being the last one's partner.
@ Liz If you wanna up the powers of the villains, it might be a good idea to do the Brainiac plot we talked about. Or we could bring in the Reach or something.
I don't really think the power of the villain or the hero is all that important though. Hero's and Villains are flexible and powers just plain aren't everything. I mean, Jaime did basically nothing against Klarion and I don't think he or Power Girl was really necessary to take down Parasite, and they were the two pretty darn powerful villains.

TV Tropes Powers. Activate!!!!!Plus throw in Deadpool, and we got ourselves one terrific trio! :D
DAMMIT MARK, STOP HOTTING HELPY!!Hey guys. I don't know if you remember me from a while back, but I was Titanium Man for all of a dozen posts. Sorry for ditching but I fell into a dark place for a while and superheroing wasn't so appealing anymore. While I still can't guarantee a stable posting schedule, I cooked up a bitchin' reimagining for Mirror Master and would love to be a part of what you guys have going on.
If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~You know, I'd prefer if you went back to Titanium Man instead of just abandoning him, since you seemed to be going for something with him.
While it's true I had a fair amount of backstory, support characters, and future events planned, looking back I can't help but feel that I was just lapping at the Iron Man niche. And Iron Man already fills the Iron Man niche pretty well.
If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~Well, if you're sure you want to let Titanium Man go, then that's all right. Sorry that you didn't get to do anything plot relevant with him while you were still interested in him.
I should warn you though: Mirror Master currently has a history in Justice Avengers. To be precise, Sam Scudder was the MM before going missing, presumed dead, and Evan McCulloch has assumed his role as a member of the Rogues.
Oh. Hmm. Well. I didn't count on that. My guy's reinventioned enough that he isn't actually either of those guys, but I don't know if their existence invalidates what I was going to do, what with the take I was going for with mirror technology and how that all works. What's the precedent on that so far?
If I had that kind of power, I'd have dropped a meteor on your house ages ago~
If I can just say, I think I'm the one at fault here. I haven't been reading the RP thread, so I didn't know the tier of the villains. Which is why I was leaning towards someone closer to Superman's level, both because I love Superman, and because I didn't want to play a guy that, while a more versatile character, becomes USELESS once the villains start amping up.
My various fanfics.
