San Fran—-sssss-ssssokyo??? Tangled??? Frozen??? Disney needs to fire whoever comes up with new names!
Hey, at least you can pronounce Tangled and Frozen.
Looking for some stories?Doesn't make it any less rediculous.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceTangled and frozen are real words that are actually relevant to the movies in question. I get that some people have a real hate-on for those movies, but they're just not anywhere near the same league as San Fransokyo or whatever it is.
Not that that name bothers me either.
Well at least that's not what the movie is called. :D
I thought the idea of making a Big Hero 6 film adaptation was to appeal to Marvel's Otaku fans (they are too obscure for most others.) And then they go and- don't set them in Japan? Someone's missing the point here.
Yeah.... "We can't offend those Japanese that value their culture to the point where they'll criticize anything we do in the film, but we want to appeal to Marvel fans, and Disney fans, both of who are not familiar with Japanese culture anyway, yet still acknowledge the Japanese by having one of our animated films in the canon line-up set there! I Know! We'll go halfway and have it take place in a ....MAKE BELIEVE pseudo-Japanese city! VAGUENESS ALL THE WAY!"
Big Hero 6. Will they leave the light on for you?
I have to admit, the Torii Gate/Golden Gate Bridge is a very interesting idea. It's a silly idea, but the execution as far as we can tell doesn't seem to be that bad.

Not Three Laws compliant.By the concept of this city, I am expecting a LOT of silly ideas.
For example: Instead of San Fran being considered the most gay city in America, in this movie, it will be considered the most Futa city in "Jafricamerica"(?).

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceHuh... I guess I'll keep a eye out on this thread. I'm a bit late in catching up with the wreck-it Ralph thread.
You've brought shame into nerd culture.

It also doesn't help that I'm still trying to catch up on the Pokemon X/Y thread too.

Just for that, you're getting... a medal for bravery. I LOATH POKE'MON!
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceUh... I'm kind of confused here, are you upset, ashamed, or congratulating me? :|
The third. anywho, Really want to see how this plays out.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceBlimps are very Ghibli, to me. :3
Calling a reference to Spirited Away. =3
That's it. I'm ready to lose my mind over this movie.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceOkay yeah. Just the fact that Disney has embraced Japanese animation to an extend is enough to make me grin like a fanboy.
It still doesn't redeem them for using a stupid city name like San Fransokyo or whatever. Sounds like cheep body wash.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceEspecially when it's clearly a huge change from the comic, which simply took place in Tokyo.
I think the name is rediculous, but the city looks beautiful! I wonder how the characters will look in Disney's hands.
