Okami HD

Kingdom Hearts 3D is not Kingdom Hearts III. Its an in between game.

As cool as this is, I already own the game. I do hope this gives more people the chance to own it, though.

Note: if you two are going to discuss KH 3 D, please don't put any spoilers. I've just got one month to go, or so.

(Also, KH 3 D is definitely not KHIII, unless spoilers happen and the Xehanort plot is wrapped up in that game, which I doubt).

Considering how KH3D has its full title as Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance, the odds of it being the actual Kingdom Hearts 3 are tiny.

Anyway, I'm really glad to hear about this.

I loved Okami.

Can't wait for a chance to play it again.

Just picked up Okami for the Wii. Pretty great so far. The Power Slash is finicky, though. Learning that you can hold down Z for straight lines helps, although it, too, kind of likes to pre-interpret what angle I want to draw the line at.

Otherwise, good so far. Just got Bloom and that sprouting-tree attack.

I love it.

A Restoration sequence. What more really needs to be said?

You know what bugs me? You can't just repair the bridge to that one mountain village, or to Orochi's lair. You have to take a long and convoluted path for some reason.

I don't remember a broken bridge to that mountain town (the one with the wind troubles, right?)

And Orochi's cave was blocked by a barrier, unless you mean some inner part of it?

There's a direct bridge to were Orochi lives, but the bridge is broken. I actually spent a bit of time trying to fix it and just jumped for completion's sake. Pretty sure the fight is unwinable without going through the long path though since you unlock powers through it, so that's good.

Honestly, I'm not seeing much difference between this HD version and the original, even graphically.

From what I've seen, these HD versions basically just get the option to display in 1080p and occasionally higher-res textures. Of course, Okami's textures are intentionally chunky-looking, so dunno what they can do there...

Rerelease it on a new system for people who don't have access to the original version or missed it when it was originally released. That's what I use them for anyway. Only game that really benefited from being HD as far as I can tell is Shadow of the Colossus and Ico.

perhaps it's like that ruin in Ryoshima Coast. It was so old and weak that it would just collapse again if you Rejuvinated it.

So, this is out now. Reviewers love it just as much as they did way back when and hopefully sales are a bit better this time around.

I'm really glad they're doing this. I mean, I've got it on the Wii and I'm not buying this one, but like with quite a few of last generation's great games there were many who didn't pick up on it and now have the ability to buy it over PSN. I'll be recommending this to everyone I know.

For those who have yet to play this game, I cant possibly recommend this enough. Buy it now if you can!

Perhaps I'll buy it for my roommate who has a PS 3. I already have the Wii version.
