I suppose that’s good, although I still think the characters were more interesting. There was also some gender stuff that I thought seemed rather regressive with the whole thing with Princesses. Maybe the plan is to subvert that somehow, but since it’s Kishimoto (who I admittedly only know by reputation), I don’t think I want to hold my breath.

Yozakura's 2nd chapter was pretty funny overall. Though the idea of spies working in the open like that doesn't make a whole lot of sense. Also why don't you just rip off the bomb and throw it out the window instead of throwing yourself out the window, Taiyô?

I don't know if it stays that way, i didn't get past the introduction. I don't know why anyone thought it was a good idea to start your manga with a political rant. Especially since it just looked like a pretty derivative "ninja magic" series.

Eh... It's mostly about manga regarding ninjas in the future and I dont mind that one getting axed lol :P But we'll see what happened in the future. Even the members of Shonen Jump discord server are also joking about axing that manga.

Also, how do you guys feel about the new manga? I thought it was a bit uneven, not as strong as last Yozakura, but it has some potential. I think it depends on how it develops its two main leads.

@Karkat Won't gonna lie the axe jokes made me laugh a bit. But there are some of them saying the manga can survive a bit if Beast Children or Futari got axed. But eh, while I follow this manga... Not sure if I like this not because of its political propaganda. Probably because its Naruto based. :3 (Cuz you know, ninjas and stuff)
Speaking of propaganda... I might be wrong but that only happened in the first chapter. It got toned down I guess and some mission focuses on saving the model or some shit like that.

I don't read it, but from what I've heard it's full of ridiculous edge and pop culture references, not political propaganda. Maybe that was in the first chapter just to justify the Mad Max Japan setting.

Anyways, reading the new chapter of Mission Yozakura... I'm hoping that this manga can survive a bit. And I found it interesting that mercenary used social media XD

It's not so much the political propaganda part that bothered me. It's the fact that it opens with it. Cause either that means it's gonna be a scathing political series (unlikely in Jump) which isn't the story i was looking for, or it's just a series that has no idea how to bring up issues at the right time (not a great outlook). It's like one of those outrage youtubers or your grandpa going on about kids these days. There might be an interesting story in there somewhere but the way it's presented means i'm already tuned out.
Mob Psycho knockoff is lame.
I just skimmed through it, but… I'm sure I've seen the male MC in another series…
Yozakura Family is off to a good start so far. Mitama Security is a little meh, though.

Not this week at least. Also, considering how relatively short Mitama's first chapter was, it might be the new bottom-of-TOC gag manga. There hasn't been any to replace Jimoto ga Japan and David-kun.

Apparently BC and FNT are doing terribly in the Shoseki sales ranking, but TSS is in the top 100 and Kamio Yui in the top 50… So it seems like at least Kamio is slowly clawing its way out of the chopping board.

Having just caught up to Chainsawman, I'm glad it's in a healthier spot in the rankings these days. It absolutely deserves a chance.
Being from a rugby nation and a fan of sports manga, I'm always on the prowl for good rugby manga, and Beast Children is like the third one I've come across and they're all kinda mediocre. Fulldrum is probably the strongest one I've encountered, but Beast Children... I dunno, compare that with Eyeshield 21's first chapters and they're worlds apart.

Samurai 8 is just barely avoiding the chopping block. I guess the tankoban sales will either make or break it.
I mean, even if it doesn't do great I highly doubt it will sell less than Beast Children or Futari no Taisei…
The art is rapidly improving if anything. Ironically, I think part of the reason is that the weekly schedule forced Ohkubo to reduce the amount of superfluous details that cluttered the art in the early chapters.
